Krasny Khutor Orphanage - Rotary Project
The Rotary Club of Chernigov Ukraine and Rotary clubs from Central Florida USA District 6980, joined together to complete this humanitarian project at the Krasny Khutor orphanage in Ukraine.
The rural orphanage of Krasny Khutor is located in an agricultural area on the northern border of Ukraine (Russian border) and is home to approximately 170 children ranging in age from 6 to 15 years old. The sanitation conditions are poor. Their toilets consist of an outhouse that is used 12 months of the year, regardless of weather and temperature. They also do not have a septic system to handle sanitary waste. There are showers; however they are very old and do not have hot water.
The children are filthy and it appears they dont shower from the time it gets cold until spring weather begins to warm the air. As a result, living conditions are squalid and personal hygiene is non-existent over the winter months.
Plans include the installation of a modern septic treatment system to handle sanitary waste. The existing shower facility will be renovated to make room for toilet blocks. The showers will be upgraded to include hot water and the toilets will be plumbed into the new septic treatment system.
The location of the project is at the Krasny Khutor Internat, which is located in the Chernihivska oblast, Novgorad Seversky, Ukraine. Work will be done in and around the building known as The Shower Hall.
This project will help restore the dignity of these children by providing them with comfort and cleanliness and a better quality of life. This project will directly benefit all of the children and staff of the Krasny Khutor Internat. They will have clean sanitary indoor toilets and renovated showers with hot water which will be useable all year. The new facilities will allow everyone to keep clean and healthy.

At the beginning of the Russia Ukrainе war, the invaders tried to surround Kyiv.
The Zhytomyr highway connects the capital with the western regions where residents were evacuated.
Unfortunately, many civilians with children were shot by russian barbarians.
In this video you can see broken houses, bridges, gas stations, warehouses and other infrastructure. As well as wrecked tanks and armored vehicles of the invaders.

This past summer I had the awesome opportunity to go on a mission trip to Ukraine!
I helped and lead worship at two camps, I visited abandoned babies at a children's hospital, and I visited an orphanage where I was able to hold, change, and play with abandoned kids.
