Quiroga is said to be the CARNITAS CAPITAL OF THE WORLD! One thing is for sure, you’ll find the best carnitas in the world in Michoacan, Mexico. We went to Quiroga for the carnitas, but we stayed for an unexpected party that was unlike anything else we’ve ever seen in Mexico. One of our favorite experiences in 2022 for sure.

The Puerta de Alcalá is a Neo-classical monument in the Plaza de la Independencia in Madrid, Spain. It is regarded as the first modern post-roman triumphal arch built in Europe,[1] older than the similar monuments Arc de Triomphe in Paris and Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
It was a gate of the former Walls of Philip IV. It stands near the city center and several meters away from the main entrance to the Parque del Buen Retiro. The square is bisected by Alcalá Street, although the street does not cross through the monument, and it is the origin of the Alfonso XII, Serrano and Olózaga streets. Its name originates from the old path from Madrid to the nearby town of Alcalá de Henares.
Madrid in the late 18th century still looked like a somewhat drab borough, surrounded by medieval walls. Around the year 1774, king Charles III commissioned Francesco Sabatini to construct a monumental gate in the city wall through which an expanded road to the city of Alcalá was to pass, replacing an older, smaller, gate that stood nearby. It was inaugurated in 1778.
During the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Katy Perry and Linkin Park were featured live from the Puerta de Alcalá. Performing in front of close to 100,000 fans, Perry performed her single Firework, with a pyrotechnics display. Linkin Park performed a set which was shot in its entirety for MTV World Stage, to be broadcast on MTV platforms around the world on 10 December 2010.
The song La Puerta de Alcalá has also been covered by Mexican singer Anahí and Spanish singer David Bustamante and is included in her sixth album, Inesperado. On 2 June 2017, the closing ceremony and concert of WorldPride 2017 took place at Puerta de Alcalá.

La fundación oficial de la ciudad se efectuó el 22 de octubre de 1575 con el nombre de la Villa de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de las Aguas Calientes; Sin embargo, fue hasta1857 el territorio se convierte en el estado libre y soberano de Aguascalientes.
Aguascalientes tiene cuatro barrios antiguos, cada uno de ellos con su respectiva historia y tradiciones.
Barrio de Guadalupe
Barrio de San Marcos
Barrio del Encino o de Triana
Barrio de la Estación
De los cuatro antes mencionados, el más antiguo es el del Encino o de Triana, en donde se encuentra el Cristo Negro, seguido luego por el de San Marcos

Declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998, just 30 kilometers from the capital, the birthplace of Cervantes is an ideal place to stroll through its streets and squares, visit its museums and monuments, eat in one of its good restaurants, have a coffee or a drink at sunset on one of its terraces and take home a souvenir of a typical sweet, among which are the sugared almonds and the costrada, a cake of meringue, cream and puff pastry.
In Alcalá, we can take a journey through history. From the medieval period, on the plaques of the names of the streets surrounding the Plaza Cervantes are the delimitations of the spaces occupied by the three cultures that coexisted in it.
From the Renaissance, the University of Alcalá with its trilingual courtyard and the Corral de Comedias, which offers guided tours as well as a wide range of theatrical performances, stand out. From this period is the recreation of a house of the time that can be seen in the Museo Casa Natal de Cervantes, a typical Toledan house. Its interior houses a library and the Cervantes Museum, which contains a multitude of period objects. The house is escorted by the figures of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza sitting on a bench.

Declarada Patrimonio Mundial por la UNESCO en 1998, a tan sólo 30 kilómetros de la capital, la ciudad natal de Cervantes es un lugar ideal para pasear, recorrer sus calles y plazas, visitar sus museos y monumentos, comer en alguno de sus buenos restaurantes, tomar un café o una copa al atardecer en alguna de sus terrazas y llevarse de recuerdo algún dulce típico, entre los que destacan las almendras garrapiñadas y la costrada que es un pastel de merengue, crema y hojaldre.
En Alcalá, podemos realizar un recorrido a lo largo de la historia. De la época medieval, en las placas de los nombres de las calles circundantes a la Plaza Cervantes se encuentran las delimitaciones de los espacios que ocuparon las tres culturas que convivieron en ella.
Del Renacimiento destacan la Universidad de Alcalá con su patio trilingüe y el Corral de Comedias que ofrece visitas guiadas además de una cuidada oferta teatral. De este periodo es la recreación de una casa de la época que se puede apreciar en el Museo Casa Natal de Cervantes, típica casa toledana. Su interior alberga una Biblioteca y el Museo Cervantino, que contiene multitud de objetos de época. La casa está escoltada por las figuras de Don Quijote y Sancho Panza sentados en un banco.
