View from Cerro La Cruz Lookout Puerto Vallarta (The Cross Hill)
This video shows you the view from La Cruz Hill Lookout (Mirador del Cerro La Cruz) in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was shot in January 2017.
There are three ways to get up there, along Abasolo street, Aldama street and Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez. Here in June (2018) they were working full tilt on paving Abasolo all the way up to the cablecar that takes you to the top of the hill. It must be ready by now. It's the easiest way to get there and the slope is much more gradual than for example Josefa O. de D. street.
Start off walking on Abasolo street right by the very popular attraction in downtown Puerto Vallarta called the Malecon. Walk in direction of the hill and antenna along Abasolo street. You'll cross Guadalupe Sánchez st. and Emilio Carranza street. Continue walking straight up along the paved path (now a street), do not take any side streets or paths along the way. You'll arrive at the base of a series of steps and a cable car that take you up to La Cruz Lookout (Mirador Cerro La Cruz).
The Cerro de la Cruz Lookout (Lookout on The Cross Hill), is, as the name states in Spanish, a lookout on the top of the La Cruz hill (Cerro de La Cruz) that towers on the East side over downtown Puerto Vallarta. It faces and views the sea silently, one of the most beautiful locations and bays of the Mexican Pacific, the Bay of Banderas and Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.
Splendid panoramic views of Puerto Vallarta and the Bay of Banderas, without a doubt a place to bask in the beauty of the Mexican Pacific. Do not miss the Cerro Las Cruz Lookout if you are in town and are in shape to get there, it will really be worth the effort to get there. This video shows an edited version of what you'll see there. It's one of the best panoramas in the city, that's for sure.

Este video muestra un corto paseo por el Malecon de Puerto Vallarta y una vista al Bar Oceano Restaurante en el malecón y la vista desde el lugar.
En el pasado, la Plaza de Armas era el lugar para ir a ver y ser visto, pero en la década de 1930, Puerto Vallarta construyó un paseo a lo largo de la orilla del mal, El Malecón, que abarca desde el ahora Hotel Rosita en el extremo norte, hasta más allá del muelle en Los Playa de Muertos en el lado sur. El Malecón original se extiende unas 10 cuadras desde la calle 31 de Octubre por el lado norte a la calle Zaragoza en el lado sur.
La mayor parte es ahora exclusivamente para peatones y bien diseñada, con lugares para descansar, muchas palmeras y vegetación que ofrecen una excelente y útil sombra. No por nada es un lugar ideal para una excursión familiar, pueden disfrutar del mar, las olas, los pequeños tramos de playa, desayunar o disfrutar alguna otra comida en uno de los muchos excelentes restaurantes, comprar en las muchas tiendas, hay tanto que hacer y disfrutar y al mismo tiempo, todo muy relajado y sin estrés.
Hay muchas cosas que hacer aquí, también hay espectáculos públicos y shows en el camino, están los Voladores de Papantla que giran valientemente por el aire alrededor de un poste, desafiando la gravedad. Hay comediantes, música y espectáculos de baile en el Anfiteatro Los Arcos, las esculturas de arena, los expertos en balanceo de rocas y mucho más. Están además las famosas esculturas de Puerto Vallarta y el icónico Caballito de Mar, con el que tienes que tomarte una foto, definitivamente!
Se dice que el Malecón es el corazón de la ciudad, una cosa es segura, si visita Puerto Vallarta, debe incluir un día (al menos) para ir al centro de la ciudad y visitar el Malecon Puerto Vallarta Mexico, si no haces, te arrepentirás. Por otro lado, si tienes duda de que hacer en Puerto Vallarta, el inicio y la inspiración surgirán de visitar, este, el Malecon, sin duda entre lo mejor de Puerto Vallarta.

This video shows a short walk along the Puerto Vallarta Malecon Boardwalk on my way to the Bar Oceano Restaurant and the view from the balcony there.
In the past the Plaza de Armas was the place to go to see and be seen, but in the 1930's Puerto Vallarta built a seaside boardwalk (El Malecón) spanning from what is now Hotel Rosita on the north end to way past the pier on Los Muertos beach on the south side. The original Malecon runs some 10 blocks from 31 de Octubre street to Zaragoza street on the south side.
Most of it is now exclusively for pedestrians and well laid out, with places to rest, lots of palm trees and vegetation, making it an ideal place for a family outing, enjoy the sea, the waves the small stretches of beach, eat breakfast or some other meal in one of the many great restaurants, shop around in the many stores, there's so much to do and enjoy and at the same time, all very relaxing and laid-back.
There are lots of things to do in Puerto Vallarta on your Puerto Vallarta family vacation, there are also public shows and spectacles along the way, there are the Papantla Birdmen that soar through the air around a pole, defying gravity and showing extreme courage, there are the comics, music and dance shows at the Los Arcos Amphitheater, the sand sculptures, the rock balancing experts and much more.
It is said that the Puerto Vallarta Malecon is the very heart of the city, one thing is for sure, if you visit Puerto Vallarta Downtown, you should save one day (at least) to go to the downtown area and visit the Malecon, you won't regret it.
So if you are asking yourself what to do in Puerto Vallarta, your best place to start finding your perfect Puerto Vallarta activities in the seaside promenade, the Puerto Vallarta boardwalk.
