Son is located at the Oslofjord, 50 kilometres south of the Norwegian capital Oslo, just north of Moss and near the border of Østfold.
Son have a very interesting history - Son was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 but in the Renaissance era, Son became famous as a harbour. Timber came from the nearby areas and was partially floated down the river. On many Dutch maps from that time (the oldest being from 1582) the Oslo fjord is noted as Zoon Water.

Oslo is a must-visit location because of its amazing fusion of a large city and a nature reserve with lovely parks and green spaces. Oslo was ranked as the second greenest and most environmentally friendly city in 2007 due to its location between the Oslo Fjord and lush hills covered with woods. You can unwind in a lovely park in the city's center if you take a stroll, and Oslo Fjord's stunning beaches are just a 10-minute boat ride away. However, there are many other attractions, museums, art galleries, and stores in the capital of Norway.
And keep in mind, Edvard Munch, Oslo's foremost painter, must be studied before departing. The National Gallery and the Munch Museum both have paintings by this tortured and gifted artist on exhibit. You don't need to go inside a museum to appreciate the creative sensibility of this city. Gustav Vigeland created 212 statues for the Vigeland Park, one of Oslo's most well-liked tourist attractions. We recommend the activities in Oslo that you simply must not miss!

Hvaler, Norway - Den Optiske Telegrafen in Skjelsbuveten, 4k
In July 2020 we bought a new drone - Mavic 2 Pro and decided to make test flights to have an impression of picture quality and make a new setup of the drone.
Luckily new our home at Vesterøy in Hvaler kommune we have the optical telegraph (Den optiske telegrafen) and Skjelsbuveten.
A hike to Skjelsbuveten offers beautiful Hvaler nature, great views, and history. We believe the trip is feasible for all age groups and physical fitness. The trail is marked with cairns and ribbons. The distance is about 1.5 km each way.
About Us:
We are traveling across Norway with camper Hymer Eriba Troll 530 Rockabilly. Most of our trips are relatively short and start from Fredrikstad in Norway. For those who are limited in time, you might discover what you could see during a two-day or three-day trip in Southern Norway.

WASN’T EXPECTING TO STRUGGLE WITH THIS IN NORWAY! (Female Van Life Europe)
Van life in Norway just gets more ridiculous the further north we go! There are literally waterfalls around every corner, we visit the 5th highest waterfall in Norway, take on a tough hike to a glacier, visit a glacial lake and navigate our way around using their inland ferry system.
But, as amazing as it all is (and it really is) there's one thing we weren't expecting to struggle to find, especially in Norway of all places!!
This country is insane, we've never been anywhere quite like it, for van life it's brilliant, probably the best country for van life we've been to so far. Wild camping is easy and there's motorhome services everywhere!!
