Journey to the Top of Vitkov Hill | Prague
Explore along with me in the journey to the Top of Vitkov Hill. When I put it like that it sounds like a glorious adventure...but that was not the case.
Unfortunately the weather was not great once again and so I only was able to stay in Prague. I always wanted to visit Vitkov Hill but never actually did even after many years that I am in Prague for. So I decided to finally go there and take you guys along for the small trip.
Now the end result is not so great as I hoped so it actually did become a rather monotone experience but non the less I still hope you will enjoy the trip.
I am still playing around with the camera and slowly on find my sort of connection with it. As the restrictions here in the Czech Republic slowly seem to get lifted it brings better opportunities, meaning more travel and more fun videos, however for some of my ideas most of the restrictions should be lifted but in the meantime I will try to give you at least a nice view of the lovely city that is Prague.
Prague Pork Knuckle. Two Places! | Czech Republic Travel & Food Guide
In this food travel episode/vlog we eat some crispy juicy pork knuckles! We travel to two different areas of Prague for pork knuckle. We eat a giant apple strudel from a place that has been making strudel for over twenty years! Prices and Information down below :)
Also in this episode we travel and do some sight seeing at the National Memorial on Vítkov Hill. It has one of the largest equestrian statue in the world! The museum also is great place to see the history of Czech Republic. I really enjoyed the museum and the views from the top of the building was amazing! After this food travel episode you can decide if it's worth the travel to these wonderful places. I personally think both places were great to eat at and had their own interesting style. So come join me as I put myself into a meat coma one pork knuckle at a time! :)

The capital of the Czech Republic is also called ‘the golden city’, the ‘mother of cities’, but its most fitting name is the ‘city of 100 spires’. In the old town there are the towers of the City Hall, the Tyn temple and the Magazine. The puppet play of its famous Astronomical clock is marvelled at by thousands every hour. The Jewish district is famous of its old cemetery and the Synagogue. The Charles Bridge with its 30 statues lead to the other side of the Vltava. The other part has plenty of very good restaurants. The green dome of the Saint Nicholas Church can be seen above the citizens houses. The Prague Castle is one of Europe’s most beautiful castle districts with gothic, renessaince and baroque palaces, with a royal palace, parks, temples. Whoever visits Prague, won’t forget the Wenceslas Square and the famous pubs the ‘U Kalycha’ and the ‘U Fleku’. While wandering on the medieval streets we understand why this place became the setting for the legends of Dalibor, Faust, Rabbi Löw and the Golem.

Visiting Prague? One of the great tourist destinations, and widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Prague, the Capital of the Czech Republic, never fails to impress visitors.
The most famous of all Prague tourist attractions would have to be the Charles Bridge, this historical focal point of Prague is lined with statues of saints and is a great photo opportunity - a stroll here can be combined with a walk around the Old Town area, it's the part of the city that most people rave about, beautiful, historic and perfect to most that spend some time walking, wandering and taking photos.
The Prague Castle, which is the place you'll find a number of museums and churches is the next point of interest you'll want to visit in Prague - the grounds are extensive so taking a day to explore them should be one of the priorities of anyone who takes time to visit the city.
Prague also has some great green spaces to explore, among them both Petrin Gardens and Letna Park - the views from both are some of the best you'll find around the city - there's also plenty to see and do within the landscaped areas. For those interested in the human history of Prague then a visit to Vitkov or to one of the many world-class museums will help fill in the knowledge banks.
Other things to do around Prague would be a visit to Loreto - a famous place of pilgrimage for many and the Prague Zoo, which is globally recognized as one of the leaders in their fields, particularly when it comes to endangered species and breeding programs.
In summary Prague IS an amazing city - it attracts millions of visitors a year and it's not hard to see why. From the Old Town to the Zoo and everything in between a grand time would seem to be assured in Prague.

Park #Vítkov je jedním z nejvýše položených a nejmalebnějších parků v Praze. Nachází se na stejnojmenném kopci, který je snadno rozpoznatelný a nezaměnitelný s jinými kopci - právě zde se tyčí monumentální pomník Jana Žižky , největší jezdecká socha v Evropě.
Výška vrchu Vítkov je více než 200 metrů. Vyhlídková věž parku nabízí úchvatné výhledy na kostely, domy, věže a Vltavu. Zelené plochy parku se skládají z mnoha druhů stromů a keřů. Území je protkáno asfaltovými cestami, kde děti velmi rády jezdí na kolečkových bruslích a kolech. Pikniky jsou uspořádány na trávnících pod rozložitými korunami stromů. Kromě toho se zde nachází několik významných pražských památek.

Prague Vítkov Hill The National Monument Vítkov
Hussites at the the Vítkov recorded under the leadership of Jan Zizka of Trocnov war success: July 14, 1420 defeated the Crusader army. But even then, the well-known Prague hill about a hundred years old named Vítkov.
Idea National Monument, which unlike the existing reminders defeats demonstrated the pride and courage of the nation, was initially a purely local character.
There is also a newly opened view on the roof of the main building.
After the Second World War it was decided to set up the grave of the unknown soldier the Vítkov. Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was originally set up temporarily at the Old Town Hall.
Zizkov statue is the third largest bronze equestrian statue in the world.In the years 2010-2011 was restored.

Vítkovský tunel je železniční tunel č. 504 na katastrálním území Žižkov, který leží v km 2,422–3,738 železniční tratě Praha – Česká Třebová mezi stanicemi Praha hlavní nádraží a Praha-Libeň.
Vítkovské tunely byly postaveny v letech 2004–2011 v rámci výstavby Nové spojení. Tunely byly raženy v období 2004–2008 firmami Metrostav (jižní tunel) a Subterra (severní tunel) podle projektu firmy Sudop Praha a do provozu byly dány v 1. září 2008.
Tunel byl ražen ve vrchu Vítkov v horninách středního ordoviku, ve styku šáreckých břidlic a skaleckých vrstev. Šárecké břidlice jsou tmavošedé prachovito-jílovité břidlice. Skálecké vrstvy jsou tvořeny lavicovitě vrstevnatými křemenci a křemitými pískovci.Nadloží je od 4,5 m nad výjezdním portálem do 45 m. V oblasti Národního památníku je 42 m.
Tunel leží v nadmořské výšce 215 m, je dlouhý 1316 m.

A short time-lapse I recorded on October 25th of the Vitkov National Monument and Jan Zizka statue in Prague.
The coloured lights were in place for just three days to mark the re-opening of the monument after an extensive renovation.
Unfortunately the typical Autumnal evening in Prague did not allow for the best time-lapse...

It is not possible to miss the Wenceslas Square, the main avenue in the capital, full of luxury shops, restaurants, fashion cafés, and nightclubs. Our guide will show you also the picturesque medieval lanes in front of the Charles Bridge and you can have a short stop in the Jewish Quarter as well.

Prague Castle is a castle complex in Prague, Czech Republic, built in the 9th centurIy. It is the official office of the President of the Czech Republic. The castle was a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. The Bohemian Crown Jewels are kept within a hidden room inside it. According to the Guinness Book of Records, Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world, occupying an area of almost 70,000 square metres, at about 570 meters in length and an average of about 130 meters wide.

The Prague Astronomical Clock, or Prague Orloj, is a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest clock still operating.

Charles Bridge is a medieval stone arch bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the early 15th century. The bridge replaced the old Judith Bridge built 1158–1172 that had been badly damaged by a flood in 1342. This new bridge was originally called Stone Bridge or Prague Bridge, but has been referred to as Charles Bridge since 1870. As the only means of crossing the river Vltava until 1841, Charles Bridge was the most important connection between Prague Castle and the city's Old Town and adjacent areas. This land connection made Prague important as a trade route between Eastern and Western Europe. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the bridge is 516 meters long and nearly 10 metres wide, following the example of the Stone Bridge in Regensburg, it was built as a bow bridge with 16 arches shielded by ice guards. It is protected by three bridge towers, two on the Lesser Quarter side and one on the Old Town side, the Old Town Bridge Tower.

Exploring Prague - The Best Views in the City
I take to the streets of Prague, Czechia, to try and take some sweet photography shots with my newly-acquired camera. I consider this to be my first real travel vlog with my new camera cause I'm actually able to take some artsy photography shots and try some new editing techniques (yeah, I probably went a little overkill with the speed ramps...).
