Uster - Wohnstadt am Wasser

From the ancient Uster Castle to the tranquil waters of the Greifensee, this video offers a glimpse into the charm and character of this Swiss town.

Uster is the third largest town in canton Zürich and one of the largest in Switzerland, with around 35,000 inhabitants. It offers high-quality standards for living and working, connected with nature.
Uster calls itself “Wohnstadt am Wasser” (residential city on the water). The Aabach river flows right through it, many fountains and ponds can be found all around, and it is located next to the lake Greifensee.

Schloss Uster
The iconic heritage landmark Uster Castle, dates to the 13th century. Originally built as a stronghold and used for centuries as a seat of power in the region. Today, it houses a school, and part of it opens regularly to the public, visitors can explore its history and enjoy stunning views. It is located above the Reformed Church (Kirche Uster). Right in front of the castle, there is a nice Steakhouse restaurant. There is also a vineyard in the southwestern slope, overlooking the Greifensee towards the Pfannenstiel–Forch mountain chain.

Stadhauss
The administrative center of Uster. Since 1962, the Stadthaus has been one of the central points of the city. It was designed by the Swiss architect Bruno Giacometti, as a house that is open for everyone, with generous spaces.

StadtPark
Right in the heart of Uster, the park provides a calming influence, with its pond, playgrounds and trees. It is a popular destination for families and nature lovers, as it offers walking paths, picnic areas, a Cafe and playgrounds. At night, the fiberglass luminaires react to the approach of pedestrians and interact with each other.
There are many popular events in the park all around the year. Concerts, theatre performances, amusement parks, Christmas market, ice skating, often take place there. Also, many events take place in the Stadthofsaal and the Landihalle (including the Oktoberfest Züri-Oberland), around the park.

Roundabout Rhino und Zeughaus
Roundabout Rhino is a unique traffic circle with the sculpture created by the Uster artist Leto Meyle. It is a symbol of the city.
The Zeughaus offers spaces for creative industries, studios, rehearsal rooms, gastronomy, exhibitions, festivals and events. There is an ongoing project to renew the area to include a large hall, a stage, cinemas, exhibition room, etc.

Einkaufen
There are many shopping opportunities in Uster, including small charming shops, kiosks, sports equipment stores, boutiques, beauty salons, supermarkets and bigger shopping malls, like the Shoppingcenter Illuster and the Uschter 77.

Bahnhof
Uster is easily accessible by public transportation, with a train station located in the heart of the city. From there, you can easily travel to several destinations in Canton Zürich, as well as to many parts of Switzerland and Europe.

Känzeli
A network of footpaths and bike trails run through the Gschwader forest, which allows you to climb the Känzeli from all directions. Through a small clearing in the forest, you have a fantastic view of the downtown. Now, home of a new Mountain Bike Blue trail.

Zellweger Park
Renowned architect’s residential buildings and many art objects by well-known artists have found their place around this pond with the impressive wooden bridge Drift Structure by Tadashi Kawamata.

Sport Centre
Aussensportanlagen Buchholz – a very complete and modern sports centre with indoor and outdoor sports facilities for a wide range of activities, including: tennis, running, swimming, football, volleyball, skating, etc.

Greifensee
The Greifensee, this beautiful lake is a popular spot for cycling, swimming, SUP, boating and fishing. The Strandbad offers a 50m swimming pool and other pools for non-swimmers and kids, a playground and courts for beach volleyball. Its shores are under nature protection, there are some birdwatching towers, its banks are not built up and are only accessible in a few places.
On weekends, the circular path around the lake can get busy with many cyclists, rollerbladers, runners and walkers.
With its crystal-clear water and stunning natural scenery, this is a perfect place to relax and unwind.

Whether you're interested in history, natural beauty, or cultural events, Uster has something for everyone.
So why not plan a visit to this charming city and experience all that it has to offer?

Weekend in Zürich | Top attractions in Zürich Switzerland, Jucker Farm, Uster

We visited Zürich over a weekend in Autumn - checked out some famous sightseeing spots in the city, and enjoyed some beautiful nature on the city's outskirts.

We had a stroll in Zürich's old town, saw the Zürich Lake, the Opera house, the famous landmarks Grossmünster and Fraumünster Church, and oversaw the view of Zürich from Lindenhof and Polyterrasse. We also spent some time in the town of Uster, and visited the Jucker Farm during the Pumpkin season! The weather was sometimes better and sometimes worse, but it was a fun and beautiful weekend after all!

Zurich Switzerland

A walk around the center of Zurich - Grossmünsterkirche , St. Peterskirche, Fraumünsterkirche, the river Limmat, Zurichsee

Zürich is the largest city in Switzerland and the capital of the canton of Zürich. The city is Switzerland's main commercial and cultural centre and sometimes called the Cultural Capital of Switzerland, the political capital of Switzerland being Berne. Zürich can be counted as one of the world's pre-eminent global cities. According to several surveys from 2006 to 2008, Zürich was named the city with the best quality of life in the world as well as the wealthiest city in Europe.
The city is situated where the river Limmat issues from the north-western end of Lake Zürich (Zürichsee), about 30 km north of the Alps. Zürich is surrounded by wooded hills including (from the north) the Gubrist, the Hönggerberg, the Käferberg, the Zürichberg, the Adlisberg and the Oettlisberg on the eastern shore; and the Uetliberg (part of the Albis range) on the western shore.
There are officially 376,815 people living in Zürich (as of the 4th quarter of 2007), making it Switzerland's largest city. The population of the city proper including suburbs totals 1.08 million people. However, the entire metropolitan area (including the cities of Winterthur, Baden, Brugg, Schaffhausen, Frauenfeld, Uster/Wetzikon, Rapperswil-Jona and Zug) has a population of around 1.68 million people.
The geographic (and historic) center of the city is the Lindenhof, a small natural hill on the west bank of the Limmat, about 700 meters north of where the river issues from Lake Zürich.
Grossmünster (great minster) (near Lake Zürich, in the old city), where Zwingli was pastor; first built around 820; declared by Charlemagne imperial church Fraumünster (our lady's minster) first church built before 874; the Romanesque choir dates from 1250-70; Marc Chagall stained glass choir windows; (on the opposite side of the Limmat).
St. Peter (downstream from the Fraumünster, in the old city); with the largest church clock face in the world.

Bäretswil - Gibswil - Steg

Bäretswil, im zürichdeutschen Ortsdialekt Bääretschwiil, ist eine politische Gemeinde im Bezirk Hinwil des Schweizer Kantons Zürich.

Geographie:

Einwohner:
Am 31. Dezember 2020 lebten 5049 Personen in Bäretswil, wovon 10,9 % Ausländer waren.

I first got out of Zurich Central Station and headed for the city. There was a lot of people gathered in the square side though the rain was falling. It is a flea market in the center of Zurich. The old clock stands out. The oldest watch is this handmade watch. It is a watch filled with traces of over 150 years. In Switzerland, expensive luxury watches come to mind first, but there are many old and worn watches. This is a revolver gun and it's old. It's been around 300 years. This is 600 francs. Hanwha is about 710,000 won. 600 Frank? Yes, these things are very rare. Most old and old things. Instead, it's just amazing where these things came from. The Swiss people here seem to have a bit of obsession with collecting old things. Vendors in the market are given through lottery. I can sell it if I'm lucky. Every Wednesday I draw a lottery and when I win I can sell it for two weeks. It's a lot of things that are gathered by ordinary people, not merchants. It is because of my profession that my old camera keeps snowing. You can look through this part on the top. It's 100 Frank. Hanhwa is about 110,000 won. 100 Frank? As a child, nice cameras that I wanted to pack in my treasure box made me stay here for a long time. It is not so great, but it is interesting things that attract many people. I bought a few things so far. Could you tell me what you bought? I've seen a lot of interesting things, but I have not bought a lot yet. One FM radio,
