???????? LESSER KNOWN places in Mexico are amazing! Tequisquiapan & Bernal ????????

Lesser known places in Mexico are amazing! ????????
In this video we go off the beaten path slightly and head to two fairly unknown towns located about two and a half hours north of Mexico City, Tequisquiapan and Bernal ⛰️

Tequisquiapan has a population of 72,000 people. It’s known for its mineral spas and the well-preserved Spanish colonial buildings lining its cobbled streets. In the center, the pink neoclassical Santa María de la Asunción church overlooks arcaded Plaza Miguel Hidalgo, which we visit. The town is known for crafts like the handwoven baskets sold at the handicrafts market, which we also visit ????

Bernal has a population of just under 3,000 people. This cute little town is known for its enormous monolith rock, the Peña de Bernal, the third highest on the planet. In 2005 Bernal was designated as a Pueblo Magico (Magical town) and I can see why. It feels very authentic and cultural.
Now, in 2022, there are currently 132 Magical Towns in Mexico ❤️

So come and join us on the first part of this amazing road trip through the states of Queretaro and Guanajuato in Mexico!

BEST THINGS TO DO GUANAJUATO CITY MEXICO (Our First Impressions)

We travel to Guanajuato City for the first time and give you our first impressions along with a list of the best things to do, see, and eat! We start out walking to town and discover the cities' tunnels and it's school, University of Guanajuato. We make it to our Spanish Class School, La Hacienda Espanol, and then we get some gorditas Las Gueras, next we take the funicular (trolley) up to the top of the city for the best view and to visit the Monumento Al Pipila statue. Next we go to the Basilica De Guanajuato and the Plaza Gardens to hangout. Up Next is the Callejon De Beso or alley of the kiss where we get 15 years of good luck. One of our favorite spots is the Mercado Hidalgo where we get groceries and find Charamuscas! Last but not least we head to Jardin De La Union or the main square for an alley walk (Callejoneadas) from the Traditional Mexican Singers.

Our Fantastic Seven Days in Guanajuato Mexico - Costs and Recommendations - Guía Completa

We spent 7 days in Guanajuato. In this video we take you along as we tour museums, eat at fabulous restaurants, and take in the city's beauty. At the end we give you a tour of our Airbnb, break down all of our expenses, and give you our top recommendations.

We didn't mention it in the video, but the Callejón del Beso has a story. There are different versions, but the gist is that a father killed his daughter over a relationship he didn't approve of - either intentionally, or unintentionally. The superstition is that you have to kiss on the 3rd step (red one) and you will have a good relationship for 15 years... if you don't make it to the alley to kiss while in Guanajuato then you will have a bad relationship, or you kiss on the wrong step your relationship will be filled with heartache and sadness for 7 years. We didn't want to risk it ;)
