Pinamungajan Cebu Highlights
History:
The municipality, also known as Pinamungahan, was established in the 1815 under the Spanish colonial government in the country. The municipality got its name from the diligent and hardworking people, working hand-in-hand especially during the agricultural harvest season – Pinamungajan, which originated from the Visayan word pinamuhuan, meant a worker share for his effort during a farm harvest. Over time the Pinamuhuan eventually changed to the current name of the municipality.
The town patroness is Saint Monica, mother of one of the fathers and doctors of the Catholic Church, Saint Augustine of Hippo.[5] However, instead of August 27, Pinamungajan celebrates the memorial of the saint on May 4.[6] In 2008, in response to the call of then governor and now Congresswoman Gwendolyn Garcia for each Cebu town and city to hold a festival as part of local culture and heritage, Pinamungajan began the Pinamuohan Festival in honor of Saint Monica on her memorial.

Pinamungajan is a 2nd-class municipality in the western seaboard of Cebu Island. Located 82 kilometers from Cebu City, the town's name Pinamungajan originated from the visayan word Pinamuhuan which means a share of a worker during harvest season. Now, it is home to 75,131 people (2020 census).
In this video, I am featuring the Pinamungajan-Lamac-Bunga-Lutopan-Talisay City route. Going to the city (Metro Cebu) from the town of Pinamungajan, this route may not have the widest road and to some, they would say not really the safest but this route will get you to the city in a short time. If you come from Aloguinsan or perhaps Barili or even the mountain barangays of Carcar, this route is your fastest way to the metropolis. Bypassing the traffic jam in Carcar, San Fernando, Naga, Minglanilla and Talisay, plus all the sceneries and fresh air you get along the way.
I will also feature some attractions, sceneries and views especially in Lamac-Bunga areas. Unique rock formations, beautiful winding roads, Udlom Falls, Sinungkulan Falls and more! I will also give you directions with maps so you can take this video as your guide if you will be using this route for the first time.
This will be motovlogging style as I am riding my motorcycle Siloy in this video.
Before going to the mountains fromPinamungajan proper, I will be showing you some scenic and cinematic shots of the town. This includes the municipal hall, public market, Sta. Monica Parish and the town's plaza. Enjoy this video mga Igsoon! I guarantee you will be entertained.

Itinerary:
- Ride a Bus from South Bus Terminal going to Pinamungajan, Cebu.
- Drop off point: Pinamungajan Public Beach, Brgy. Tajao
- Rent a boat going to Campalabo Sandbar. The boat rate is Php 150.00- 200.00 per person. However, due to pandemic, you have to rent the whole boat ranging from Php 1, 000.00 - 1, 500.00 for the whole day.
Tips: Best time to visit is during Low Tide. It submerges during High Tide.
IMPORTANTLY: DO NOT LEAVE YOUR TRASH BEHIND. BE A RESPONSIBLE TOURIST.
