Welcome Back ToSwiss Entertainment 72 10 Best and Most Beautiful Places to Visit in Lebanon Disclosure: Your support helps keep our Channel running. Kindly watch the videos completely so you can find all the information you need! Thank you for your support. Lebanon is a small, but densely populated country that borders the Mediterranean Sea, Israel, and Syria. In terms of tourist numbers, Lebanon can’t compete with regional nations such as Israel and Jordan. However, its role in the Bible, ancient architectural wonders, and stunning natural attractions are not to be overlooked, and certainly makes Lebanon an alluring travel destination. If you can’t decide where to go in one of Asia’s smallest nations, watch on to find out more about 10 of Lebanon’s highlights. 1. Kadisha Valley In the heart of rural Lebanon, the Kadisha Valley cuts through modest settlements and agricultural land in an extraordinary way. Houses and monasteries are built on the steep slopes of this gorge, that’s been eroded by the water of the Abou Ali River. Bsharri is an excellent starting point for discovering the canyon, as this picturesque town has cave houses and monasteries. Old Mar Lichaa Monastery is a serene sanctuary with peaceful chapels on the inside, and unrivalled views over the gorge outside. The Monastery of St. Simon and the hidden Church Saint Antoine of Padova are scenic destinations in the valley as well. Two aces up Lebanon’s sleeves – deep-rooted culture and magnificent landscapes – are indeed represented in the Kadisha Valley. 2. Jeita Grotto You won’t have to venture far from Beirut to reach the first wild wonder. Jeita Grotto is only a 20-minute drive away from downtown Beirut, making it an easy day trip from the capital. This limestone cave complex is a majestic place, with two main chambers featuring towering stalagmites and stalactites in fantastic shapes. You can ride a tourist train or gondola to the entrance of the caves, while on the inside, you can follow a walking track or ride a rowing boat. Many of the columns and limestone creations bathe in artificial lights, creating a captivating spectacle. Bringing your lunch during your visit isn’t necessary; near the cave chambers entrance, a restaurant serves traditional Lebanese dishes to satisfy your cravings. 3. Beirut You’ll most likely arrive in Beirut, but travelling further isn’t an urgent matter; Lebanon’s capital pleases visitors with a grand coastline, antique sites, pumping parties in the nightlife districts, and food that likely lingers on your tastebuds for a while. Start your adventure in the city in the National Museum of Beirut, where archaeological excavations are displayed to tell the historical tale of this Asian country. Downtown Beirut is the most popular area, as this district is home to the famed Beirut Souks and the Roman Baths, a complex of ruins that dates back to the 1st century AD. While the souks represent old Beirut, the city’s new face is apparent at Zaituna Bay, where upscale restaurants, yachts, and skyscrapers dominate the view. Beirut is a cosmopolitan place, worth spending at least a couple of days. 4. Tripoli Although Tripoli has significantly fewer people than Beirut, its cultural treasures equal or even surpass those of the capital. Established around the 6th century BC, Tripoli has been a part of numerous civilizations: Persians, Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, and Ottomans have all resided in this intriguing city, which is the second-largest in the country. Go back to the Middle Ages at the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles, constructed by Crusaders and seemingly untouched until today. The nearby Taynal Mosque is another superb example of Tripoli’s gorgeous architecture. This 14th-century mosque has vivid green domes, and the stone structure is particularly imposing on the inside. Furthermore, Tripoli is praised for its souks, medieval market quarters where the fragrance of spices penetrate the nostrils and bargain prices await around any corner. 5. Beiteddine Palace Beiteddine Palace might not be as ancient as some of Lebanon’s cultural crowd pullers, it undoubtedly is a national treasure. Assembling this royal residence took 30 years, and it was meant to serve as a home for the emir, his harem, guests, and staff members. The excellent eye for detail in columns, walls and primarily the mosaics is undeniable; stories are told through the use of the miniature tiles. As a visitor, you can stroll around the courtyard and savour the views of the former palace. While Beiteddine Palace still functions as the summer residence of Lebanon’s president, the complex is mostly accessible. Inside the palace, rooms and halls with striking Arab and baroque ornaments await.

What to see in Tripoli || Lebanon Travel Vlog

Tripoli is Lebanon’s second ;largest city and sits far to the north, near the border with Syria. Though it looks far on a map, its distance is only 50 miles, or just over an hour away from the main city of Beirut, but it feels a world different. Gone are the glassy skyscrapers and glamorous shopping of Beirut, but instead it feel like stepping back into an older era. Winding old alleys are flanked by hectic shopping streets, pierced with historic minarets and over shadowed by an 11th century castle dominating the hillside. Not too far is the town of Mina, a quaint fishing village on the Mediterranean Sea where I ecountered local fishermen and found remnants of the Orient Express, an old railway that once linked the small middle eastern nation. Tripoli was a wondrous journey through time periods and cultures and here’s how it went….

12 hours in TRIPOLI, Lebanon: BEST spots to eat!

Please consider SUBSCRIBING!
Instagram:

In my second collaboration with BeirutFood (July 2020), we visited the second biggest city in Lebanon: Tripoli.
Tripoli (or Trablos for Arabic speakers) is often referred to as a dangerous and very poor city. But the only way to actually verify this is by going there. And trust me, it's always an agreeable surprise. The city is so hospitable, the old souks are unmissable, the street food is my favorite in Lebanon and the gastronomy there is so freaking diverse. Yes, the city is going through a lot, but let this food vlog be a reminder that there still is potential ❤️

Here are the places we visited and my main takeaways:
1:18 Accra: The hommos Malisieh is the specialty there
2:23 Moghrabieh Sandwich: They only do it in Tripoli
2:59 Kaakeh Trablosieh Furn: We saw how they make the renowned Kaakeh with sesame seeds
3:39 Carob street Juice: My first time tasting carob and my first street juice
4:04 Mat3am el Saade (Sfiha): Probably my favorite place of the day. It's super cheap, it's SO good and it's a specialty.
4:40 3al Tariq (Shawarma): What a funny concept this restaurant offers! They serve the food in baskets that move with ropes from the kitchen roof to your table.
5:37 Kaakeh Abou Daniel: This little kiosk is so awesome, and Abu Daniel is a legend.
6:09 Baytna (Mezze and Macheweh): Amazing Mezze, the generosity there was unbelievable and I probably tasted my best Kebbeh Naye ever (Raw meat).
8:21 Hallab (Arabic Sweets): Best Arabic sweets I ever tasted. So much better when you eat them fresh from the factory and when you know how much work goes behind each sweet.

I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and YouTuber who's been to 53 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017. So far, my trips have taken me to Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.

I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This trip marked the start of my efforts to make a YouTube full-time job.

After that European trip I went heavily into exploring Asia, visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan (seeing me cover a lot of Far East and Southeast Asia in particular).

I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Israel and Palestine.

To date, I have not yet been to Australasia or South America. Though I am hoping to visit the latter sometime in 2022, along with a first stop in the Caribbean.

I've travelled to North America just once as a YouTuber, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.

In 2022, I took my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting both Kenya and Tanzania, before making my way to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai on my way to Lebanon.

Walk with me in this beautiful city of Tripoli Lebanon, I have walked in Tripoli’s city center and through these areas: Hadid, Al Tal, Sahet Al Nour and Zahriyeh.

Tripoli is the largest city in northern Lebanon and the second-largest city in the country. Situated 81 km (50 mi) north of the capital Beirut, it is the capital of the North Governorate and the Tripoli District. Tripoli overlooks the eastern Mediterranean Sea, and it is the northernmost seaport in Lebanon. It holds a string of four small islands offshore. The Palm Islands were declared a protected area because of their status of haven for endangered loggerhead turtles (Chelona mydas), rare monk seals and migratory birds. Tripoli borders the city of El Mina, the port of the Tripoli District, which it is geographically conjoined with to form the greater Tripoli conurbation.

The history of Tripoli dates back at least to the 14th century BCE. The city is well known for containing the Mansouri Great Mosque and the largest Crusader fortress in Lebanon, the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles. It has the second highest concentration of Mamluk architecture after Cairo.
In the Arab World, Tripoli is sometimes known as Ṭarābulus al-Sham, or Levantine Tripoli, to distinguish it from its Libyan counterpart, known as Tripoli-of-the-West.

Tripoli, Lebanon - Is it safe?

Join me as I explore Tripoli, Lebanon! Everyone here loves Mohamed Salah. ????

I traveled alone in Lebanon, but I met friendly locals everywhere! I always travel in a Liverpool shirt, and people constantly stop me in Lebanon to chat about football and Liverpool FC. In Arabic-speaking countries, locals always want to talk about Mo Salah, their favorite player.

Tripoli is considered a high-risk area to visit in the Middle East. However, I felt completely safe while exploring alone in the city. I visited several other places in Lebanon and felt safe everywhere.

This video was recorded just before the pandemic started. I am currently editing and sharing footage from my previous travels. However, starting next month, I will begin to travel again, capture videos, and create current videos of traveling and meeting Liverpool supporters everywhere!

I can't wait to return to Lebanon in October this year!
