A Day on the Beach Near Rome - Ostia
Ostia is a beach near Rome. In fact it’s so close to Rome proper that it’s considered a part of Rome.
Many locals commute daily to work from here to Rome and Romans go in the opposite direction to get some tan before they leave for vacation. Ostia is easily accessible from Rome by car and also by train. Obviously there are buses too.
The beach is usually packed in the summer but it’s well organized and it has changing rooms, lockers and all sorts of coffee shops and restaurants. Ostia city center is within walking distance from the beach and it’s packed with further choice of coffee shops and restaurants.
A typical lunch here is spaghetti all vongole (clams spaghetti) and in fact it makes a part of the whole experience. Many stay for their sunset aperitivo to proudly display the sun tan they worked so hard on the whole day. Like most things here it's kind of a big deal and Romans go through a considerable trouble to look their best even for a simple drink.
The visual effect, I guess, is the part of the deal and it's quite high even though Ostia is not an elite beach spot by any stretch of imagination. A DJ will provide an obnoxious sound wall behind your aperitif, so forget about enjoying the sound of waves and seagulls.
It all, of course, leads to a dinner by the waves but that's another story....

Torvaianica is a mostly-modern city south of Rome, best known for its beaches. The beach resort of Torvaianica is situated within the Metropolitan City of Rome province. It's officially part of the Comune of Pomezia, which is 9 kilometres away.
The town's origins date to the Middle Ages when a Saracen tower was built as a protective look-out, called Torre Vajanico. The tower itself was damaged in WW II, as this area was a main landing front for the Allies. The tower was later torn down. The area has legendary beginnings, having been cited by Virgil as the site for Aeneus' landing in his mythical epic, Aeneid.
In recent history, this stretch of coastline was the landing spot for the Allies, the Normandy of Italy.

Pomezia is a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Rome, Lazio, central Italy.
The town was built entirely new near the location of ancient Lavinium on land resulting from the final reclamation of the Pontine Marshes under Benito Mussolini, being inaugurated on 29 October 1939. Its new population was extracted from the poor peasants of Romagna, Veneto, and Friuli. Peace did not last long.

Aos 23 anos fiz uma cirurgia de Pectus Excavatum (uma anomalia que tinha no tórax) e fiquei 4 dias em coma e 11 internado no hospital. Após sair dessa vivo e ter lutado muito com dores, derrame pleural, pneumonias e outras sequelas relacionadas à cirurgia, resolvi compartilhar tudo por aqui também e contar no canal sobre o procedimento para tentar ajudar outras pessoas com o mesmo problema, além de querer viver com mais INTENSIDADE ainda do que já vivia antes.
