This isn’t my usual RV content! I’ll get back to that soon, but I wanted to share this amazing villa we stayed in on a recent roadtrip through Italy. I’ll show you how to book it and what we paid, talk about its pros and cons, and recommend places to visit nearby.
There are two apartments available for 3-night, 4-night, 7-night, 11-night, or 14-night stays. We recommend the apartment we stayed in, Mansarda del Vigneto, on the north side of the building. The one on the south side, Mansarda del Frutteto, is the same size.
Villa dei Vescovi bookings are managed by the Landmark Trust and the Fondo per l'ambiente Italiano (FAI).
From the Landmark website: Sit amid the frescoes on the wide west loggia as the sun sets on the Euganean hills, in a landscape little changed since the 16th-century.

Villa del Balbianello (Lake Como) - Italy Walking Tour
Come walking with me around the beautiful gardens of Villa del Balbianello, situated at the very tip of the Dosso di Lavedo, a promontory on the shores of Lake Como.
The Villa, built in the early 18th century, has been managed by FAI (the Italian National Trust) since 1988, donated by its last owner, entrepreneur and explorer Guido Monzino, who wished it to be open to the public.
Villa del Balbianello is probably the most well-known villa of Lake Como, the complex is constituted by the Villa, the Loggia, the Library, the Sala dei Primitivi, the Museo delle spedizioni and the magnificent park: thanks to its terraced gardens, you can walk along its paths, surrounded by statues, wisterias and great plane trees and see its holm oaks, magnolias, cypresses, plus bushes of azaleas and rhododendrons.
Villa Balbianello has been the set for many films, among which the second episode of Star Wars saga (2002) and Casinò Royale by Martin Campbell with James Bond.
