☁ BRISBANE Blanketed by FOG | QUEENSLAND | AUSTRALIA. @LoveWell Cafe- Mt Gravatt Lookout

Hey Guys, in this travel vlog we woke up to a massive foggy morning in Brisbane Queensland. It's quite a news to me because since I'm here this was the second or the third time seeing Brisbane blanketed by fog. So we packed or gears and drove to the nearby hill called Mt Gravatt Lookout Reserve to take a few cool shots. It's a lucky coincident that there is a nice little café place on the top called The Love Well Project. So we grabbed a quick coffee and some toasty.

#MtGravattLookoutReserve | #Brisbane | #QUEENSLAND | #AUSTRALIA. Foggy morning at #LoveWellCafe #lovewellproject

Since 1893 Mt Gravatt has attracted climbers, after the colonial government of the time deemed the hill’s 132 acres a recreational reserve. Local residents, drawing on voluntary labour then went about constructing roads and a walking track up its slopes, with a resultant three hand built roads to the summit.

In 1914 a large picnic shelter was built up the top and Mt Gravatt promptly became the local in-spot for picnics. It also became a hot spot for car rallies and by 1930, motorbike events. One local champ won the climb three times, in a four cylinder Indian bike with sidecar.

The current road which leads to the mountaintop was built during the Depression years by unemployed labourers and a small kiosk that had been established there burnt down in 1938.

Today The Lovewell Project cafe is an excellent spot to enjoy the view and has a little playground to the rear as well as an educational walk-though garden of native plants.

The lookout can be accessed by car or by hiking through the bush from the Griffith University Campus and Toohey Mountain Reserve.

Sawtell and Toormina NSW Australia

Beautiful winters day for a drone flight.
Had to get permission to fly in the area due to an airport being so close.

Boambee Headland & Sawtell NSW

Boambee headland is a great trek over the headland to Boambee creek or you can drive up to the Boambee Headland Lookout, 1km north of Sawtell township.
Sawtell is located 10km south of Coffs Harbour, NSW. It is such a beautiful town.
In 1863, a cutter carrying a load of cedar logs ran aground on what would then become Sawtell Beach.
In 2013, I ran aground after finishing an Outrigger Canoe Race in my one man canoe. In a mad scramble for the finish (it was a Nationals race ;-) noone saw the rogue wave that was to wash over us. No humans were hurt in the experience, just their egos LOL. Thankfully I was over the finish line when it happened and still medalled. I remember thinking then what a stunning coastline, what a challenging course and what a beautiful town. And this current visit sure did live up to that plus some.
