Day Trip to Chile's TORRES DEL PAINE National Park + The Most BEAUTIFUL PLACE in Chilean Patagonia?

Join us for a day trip to Chile's iconic Torres del Paine National Park! ???? Head to to save 10% off your first purchase of a website or domain.

Hello and greetings from Chile! In today’s video, we’re going to be taking you on a day trip to Torres del Paine National Park. This is a major trekking destination in Chile and one could easily spend a few weeks on the trails, but since we were a bit short on time, today we’re going to be showing you some of the highlights you can experience on a day trip. During our tour, we saw all sorts of wildlife, visited the cave of a prehistoric animal, and even came face to face with icebergs, so all in all, a very good day and a great option for anyone wanting to day trip from Puerto Natales.

Our first stop of the day was the Mylodon’s Cave, which is a natural monument located about 30 minutes northwest of Puerto Natales. This site is comprised of several caves, the largest of which is 30 meters high and 200 metres deep. This is where the prehistoric mylodon's remains were found.

A bit of trivia: apparently, the mylodon’s state of conservation was so good that at first the remains were believed to be that of a living species. This launched a small wave of early 20th century expeditions in search of a living, breathing mylodon. Well, that search didn’t yield much. The samples were eventually dated back about 10,000 years...they were just in great condition because of the extreme cold and stable conditions the cave had to offer.

From there, we continued on our tour to Torres del Paine National Park, which is located 60 kilometres north of Puerto Natales. As you can imagine, it was a pretty scenic drive; the best surprise was spotting a group of condors circling just above us. This is the largest bird of prey in the world, so we were pretty excited to see several of them so close by!

Once we arrived in Torres del Paine National Park, we visited numerous attractions like the Paine River Waterfall, Laguna Amarga, Lago Nordenskjöld and Lago Pehoé. We also drove past estancias, experienced winds that nearly blew us over, and of course, we were greeted with incredible landscapes at every turn. Just driving through the park’s dirt roads was an adventure in and of itself!

In the afternoon we had lunch at the Río Pingo restaurant which is located inside the national park on the southern tip of Lago Gray. Then, we enjoyed a beautiful walk on the Gray Trail that goes down to a beach where you can see icebergs up close. It was an incredible experience!

We really enjoyed this 1-day excursion to Torres del Paine. If you are in Puerto Natales but are short on time and can't spend a week trekking in the park, this is a great option that allows you to enjoy a few of the highlights!

48 Hours in PUNTA ARENAS, Chile ???????? | Eating CHILEAN FOOD ???? + Touring Historic SEAFARING SHIPS ⚓

Today we're going to be visiting Punta Arenas, the capital city of Chile's southernmost region, Magallanes and Antartica Chilena. In this episode, we’ll be hopping aboard replicas of historic ships like the HMS Beagle and the Nao Victoria, and imagining what it would’ve been like to cross uncharted waters like the great explorers.

We’ll also be showing you around some of Punta Arenas’ main attractions including its plaza, this cool panoramic point, and its famed necropolis. And because you already know we’re major foodies, we’ll also be taking you to a few restaurants in search of steak and seafood. So let’s get this video rolling!

We kicked off the day with lunch at Parrilla Los Ganaderos, a restaurant that specializes in Chilean BBQ. You can get classic beef cuts as well as lamb, and they have numerous sides to choose from. We then enjoyed a leisurely walk along the city's waterfront and even spotted the town sign.

Later that afternoon we hopped in a taxi and travelled to the Nao Victoria Museum, which is located about 15 minutes north of town. This is an open-air museum that sits on the shores of the Strait of Magellan, and it’s where you can see full-sized replicas of historic vessels.

The idea for this museum came to be when a local businessman decided to build a replica of the Nao Victoria to celebrate Chile’s bicentennial. Well, it proved to be no easy task. The search of the ship’s original plans took almost 3 years, and it was then another 2 years to complete the construction. But today this museum is considered one of the main draws to Punta Arenas.

We first visited the Nao Victoria which first set sail in 1519 as part of a Spanish 5 ship expedition led by Ferdinand Magellan. The Nao Victoria was the only ship to complete the voyage and in the process became the first ship to successfully circumnavigate the globe. It’s crazy to think that 500 years ago, people would have crossed entire oceans aboard a vessel just like this one!

We also visited the replica of the HMS Beagle, one of the most famous vessels in history. During its first voyage, the HMS Beagle carried out a hydrographic survey of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, first under the command of Pringle Stokes and later Robert Fitz-Roy. It was during this voyage that the Beagle Channel was identified and named after this ship. Later, during the Beagle’s second voyage, a young Charles Darwin would travel aboard, and we all know how he revolutionized science with his discoveries.

The following day, we decided to explore the city of Punta Arenas focusing on the downtown core. Our first stop of the day was the Cathedral of Punta Arenas, and from there we crossed over to Plaza de Armas, also known as Plaza Muñoz Gamero, which is the town square. Here you’ll find the sculpture of the famed Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. He achieved the first European navigation from the Atlantic to Asia, and the Strait of Magellan is named after him - that’s the natural passage between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Then it was time for lunch and we chose a restaurant called La Luna which specializes in seafood! This was hands down one of the best meals we had in Chilean Patagonia. I only wish we'd found it sooner so that we could have come back a few more times to try everything on their menu. We ended up getting the sampler tray, which came with 6 different dishes that featured everything from scallop to calamari, and salmon ceviche to King crab.

And that's basically how we spent 48 hours in Punta Arenas, Chile! This city has quite a bit to offer, so if you find yourself travelling through Chilean Patagonia, give yourself a few days to enjoy what it has to offer.

5 Things American Tourists Shouldn't Wear in Europe

Grab some of our gear

Please Note: Young People Wear Many of These Styles Throughout Europe. These tips are geared toward 35+ year old travelers. Thanks for watching!

Grab a Wolters World Shirt

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Top Tourist Destinations in Peru // Peru Travel

Peru offers so many top-tier travel destinations for tourists that is can be hard to choose which ones to do during your trip to Peru! In this video we provide a glimpse into the top seven places to visit, which is a list we compiled after spending two months exploring Peru. If you are wondering what to do in Peru for your holiday, this highlight video will give you a great overview of some of the best places to visit in Peru. From sunny beaches to unbelievable sand dunes to the Andes Mountains, Peru has it all!

Let's dig in to the top destinations in Peru to travel to. Of course, most people visit Peru because they want to see Machu Picchu, and while these Incan ruins are impressive, there is so much more that Peru has to offer! Lima, Peru's capital city is a great place to begin your adventure. This coastal city is beautiful, busy, and known for incredible Peruvian food! There are also the recently discovered Rainbow Mountains, which are still new to the list of tourist attractions in Peru and are bound to get busier and busier as word about them spreads! The beach town of Mancora offers year-round sun and lazy days, which will help you rest up before you visit Huacachina - the adrenaline capital of Peru! Huacachina may looks like a beautiful desert oasis tucked between sand dunes, but don't be fooled - this small town can pack a punch! Thankfully, after the nail-biting experiences in Huacachina, you can head to Cusco to sightsee for a couple of days and learn about Incan history and culture before you visit the iconic wonder of the world: Machu Picchu. In our opinion, the BEST way to get to Machu Picchu is to hike the Salkantay Trail which will take you to Humantay Lake and through the Salkantay Pass. This trek was the absolute highlight of our trip and we highly recommend you take this route if you are able!

Things to do in USHUAIA, Argentina ???????? | Ushuaia Travel Guide - the City at the End of the World! ????

Hello and greetings from Ushuaia, Argentina where we'll cover the top things to do in this Ushuaia travel guide from this fascinating city at the end of the world! Today we’re going to be visiting the southernmost city in the world, located in the province of Tierra del Fuego at the very bottom of Argentina.

This was the final stop of our massive trip across Patagonia and we’ll be sharing some of the best things to do in Ushuaia during your visit. Join us as we cruise the Beagle Channel, ride the train to the end of the world, send a postcard from the southernmost post office, tour a former prison-turned museum, explore the city via double-decker bus, and more!

The following is our Ushuaia travel guide! We hope this video gives you a few ideas of the many tours, attractions and experiences you can enjoy here!

???????? Things to do in Ushuaia, Argentina ????????

1) Cruise the Beagle Channel
This is a great opportunity to see some wildlife like cormorants, penguins and sea lions! Bring your passport on the cruise because you can get a Beagle Channel stamp.

2) See the Lighthouse and End of the World
Often attributed as Jules Verne's lighthouse at the end of the world, this lighthouse's real name is Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse.

3) Admire the Penguins on Hammer Island
Not all tour operators are allowed to disembark at the penguin rookery, so in our case, we just admired them from the boat!

4) Go on a Double-Decker Bus Tour of Ushuaia
Picture an old-fashioned double-decker bus painted bright blue, and then get ready to be transported back through time as you set step aboard. Over the course of the tour you’ll get to learn about Ushuaia’s history and hear fun anecdotes, with a bit of tango music in between.

5) Visit the Prison at the End of the World
Ushuaia was founded as a penal colony and this prison was in operation between 1902 to 1947. Today, it houses multiple museums including the Prison Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Antarctic Museum, the Art Museum, and the Art Gallery.

6) Tour the Themed Gallery of Fuegian History
This is a museum featuring dioramas and lifelike figures that showcase the history of the province of Tierra del Fuego. The visit is done as a self-guided tour with an audio guide, so you can go at your own pace.

7) Visit the End of the World Museum
This museum deals with local history and natural history. The displays here focus on local wildlife and shipwreck remains.

8) Visit the Former Government House + Botanical Garden
Set in the former Government House, this museum has a couple of displays relating to its history, as well as a small botanical garden.

9) Sample the Local Cuisine
Ushuaia has lots of unique seafood dishes and the thing to try is the king crab!

10) Go on a Walk along the Harbour
Another thing we’d recommend doing in Ushuaia is walking along the Costanera, which is the boardwalk along the waterfront. You can see all sorts of vessels in the harbour, including cruises departing for Antarctica.

11) See the Saint Christopher
Once known as the HMS Justice, this was a Royal Navy ship classified as a rescue tug and it served at the Normandy landings during World War 2. After the war, the ship was sold and renamed Saint Christopher, where it was chartered for salvage operations in Beagle Channel.

12) Take a photo at the Ushuaia City Sign
This is an iconic photo-op to show you made it to the end of the world.

13) Hike in Tierra del Fuego National Park
This is a very easy day trip from Ushuaia seeing as the park is located just 12 kilometres west of the city. This park consists of subantarctic forest and boasts some dramatic landscapes featuring snow-capped mountains, forests, lagoons and pebbly coves. One of our favourite hikes was Senda Costera, which is the coastal trail along the Beagle Channel.

14) Visit Lapataia Bay
This part of the national park features 6 mini trails that are between 400 meters and 2 kilometres in length. They are very short hikes and easy.

15) Send mail from the Southernmost Post Office
This tiny post office sits atop a pier on the shores of the Beagle Channel and it’s the last chance to send mail before reaching Antarctica.

16) Ride the Train at the End of the World
Once upon a time, this was known as the train of prisoners, but today, the train has been developed into a heritage train and it’s considered the southernmost functioning railway in the world.

17) Take a Day trip to Tolhuin
This is a small town located an hour and a half away from Ushuaia. The main draw to this town is its famous bakery, where you can enjoy all sorts of pastries, empanadas, and even artisanal chocolates. Aside from that, there is a beautiful lake and a few hiking trails.

That concludes our Ushuaia travel guide! We hope you enjoyed getting to see the southernmost city in the world. Ushuaia has plenty of unique attractions and fun excursions to offer visitors; it’s well worth adding to your Argentina itinerary if you’re planning to travel in Patagonia!

Why This Portuguese Sardine Cannery Swears By Its 100-Year-Old Method | Regional Eats

Canned sardines are a delicacy in Portugal. The country has a long fish-canning tradition, to the point that the sardine has become a national icon. We visited Conservas Pinhais, one of the oldest preserving factories in Portugal, that has kept its artisanal canning method since 1920. It makes 30,000 cans a day.

Best Place in Bangkok | Silom Full of Life & Action #livelovethailand

Best Place in Bangkok | Silom Full of Life & Action #livelovethailand
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of My best districts in Bangkok is Silom, Attractions in Silom are as diverse as the area’s polarizing daytime and nighttime personalities. When the Thai sun is high, Silom is Bangkok’s answer to Wall Street, with high-rise office blocks full of workers spilling out into the streets at lunchtime and after work for their fill of local food. After sunset, Silom shows its true colors – bustling market stalls pop up, fine-dining restaurants open their doors and naughty nightclubs come alive.

Silom is not just about shopping, bars and restaurants, though. From niche museums to quirky galleries and one of the few treasured green spaces in central Bangkok, there are plenty of interesting attractions and sights to see, too. This list helps you discover the area’s historical, cultural and generally better-behaved side.
