On a quest to discover the best things to do in Tijuana, Mexico; today we explore the famous Avenida Revolución (Revolution Avenue) in downtown Tijuana.
We also go shopping in Pasaje Rodriguez for the iconic Mexican Panam shoes just off the main Revolution Avenue.
Before all of this, we start the day with Tortas de Chilaquiles at a small restaurant and cafe in Tijuana.
If possible, one of the best things to do in Tijuana, Mexico is to explore the inside one of the city's most well-known landmark, the Old Jai Alai Palace Forum; home of the Jai Alai sporting event since 1947. Now the Jai Alai Palace Forum hosts concerts and events like Lucha Libre.
For dinner, we head over to one of the most recommended places in all of Tijuana for dinner by all of you on Instagram; Telefónica Gastro Park, where we get to experience yet another culinary revolution here in Tijuana.

Tijuana Day Trip Guide: 5 Best Things to Do In Tijuana
This video shows the things to do in Tijuana from nightlife to places to eat in Tijuana to Avenida Revolución Tijuana, among other things.
These things to do in Tijuana are based on my personal experience living here in Tijuana. I have lots of American friends that always ask me what we can do in Tijuana for the day, so this list is based on what I think a lot of people who are willing for adventure will enjoy.
When you come to TJ you have to first eat Tijuana Tacos because they are the BEST in Mexico. After that it is important to visit the border wall also known as Friendship Park. It has lots of arts on the wall and different other things to do at the beach side. After that visit Tijuana’s best beach known as Playas de Tijuana. There are typically lots of things to do there such as eating, drinking, walking around and just relaxing. After that you must visit the famous Avenida revolución which is TJ’s own downtown. For people looking for Tijuana Nightlife, that's the spot to be at with the clubs, bars and restaurants.
This guide can be done with kids and should not require anything special. I hope this helps a lot and that you have a good time the next time you plan to visit Tijuana.

Crossing the US/Mexico border on foot - day trip to TIJUANA
Tijuana, Mexico is the most visited border city in the world, and in this video, you'll follow our journey crossing the US/Mexico border on foot twice (going to Tijuana in the morning and returning to San Diego, USA in the afternoon). We went through the San Ysidro port of entry, which is the busiest in the western hemisphere. You'll also see how we spent the day in Tijuana walking across Zona Centro (the historical downtown) and eating delicious Mexican food.

This is a tour of downtown Tijuana Mexico on a Sunday afternoon in August. We start out on Avenida Revolucion and walk towards the US border. We check out several markets and other side streets around downtown Tijuana. There is another area called Zona Rio which we did not actually show in this tour. We mostly highlighted central Tijuana.

Everyone knows Tijuana, Mexico for its incredible street tacos, and thanks to my last video Ultimate Tijuana Taco Tour I definitely have kept that narrative going.
However, there is so much more to Tijuana than street meat and food stalls! Tijuana is going through an amazing culinary revolution with chefs and entrepreneurs setting up their own restaurants in the city.
We start the day at an incredible little bakery called La Ventanita del Pan, where they are serving up the most delicious baked goods and sweets I have ever tasted. Marcela is taking Mexican baked goods to the next level by taking a page out of the French cookbook - butter on butter on butter.
La Ventanita del Pan is a must-visit on your list of things to do in Tijuana, Mexico.
One of the main reasons for creating this video, is to highlight the culinary revolution happening here in Tijuana.Beyond the famously delicious street tacos, there’s a new wave of Mexican chefs and entrepreneurs who are establishing high level breweries and eateries all over the city. One of those people is Chef Adria Marina, who opened the critically acclaimed Georgina’s with a fusion of flavors from all over the world.
Next, the Tortas Wash Mobile makes one tasty Carne Asada torta while you're washing your car!
And of course, a trip around Tijuana wouldn't be complete without a stop at the birthplace of the Caesar Salad; Caesar's in Hotel Caesars.
As the story goes, and this story takes a number of turns, back during the prohibition days of the 1920s, Italian-born chef Caesar Cardini moved from California to Tijuana to open a restaurant in order to avoid the alcohol bans in US establishments.
Now, who actually created the caesar salad itself is up for debate - Cardini’s daughter says it was him who created the original caesar salad, other’s say it was his brother Alex, and some believe it was actually an employee.
The host here even tells us that Wallis Simpson and Prince Edward the 8th, after visiting in 1933, took the recipe back to England and made the caesar salad famous worldwide.
Last, but certainly not least, we went to Misión 19 to try the fine dining of Tijuana. A deliciously creative play on Baja California and Mexican cuisine.

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.
We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.
We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

During our latest visit to Tijuana, we went on an amazing Food Tour! Believe it or not, Tijuana has a thriving food scene that features some incredible restaurants which won't hurt your wallet! We've spent quite a bit of time south of the border trying out the various foods, so this video showcases some of our favorite restaurants in Tijuana.
Tijuana's metropolitan area is approaching a population of two million people! The cuisine is reflective of the fact that it's one of Mexico's fastest growing cities. We ate chilaquiles, crepes, tacos, seafood, ice cream, and pho (and had options for so much more!). Whether it's at a food truck, a casual restaurant, or a fine dining experience, the food in Tijuana is fantastic.

When I made the 5 Must-Try Tacos in San Diego, California video, everyone told me that I had to cross over the border and try the real tacos in Tijuana, Mexico. As a man of the people, I listened!
Over the course of one full-on gluttonous day of eating, Daniel, Humberto, and I went out to discover the best tacos Tijuana, Mexico has to offer. This is definitely one of the best things to do in Tijuana if you ever make the trip! Maybe just pace yourself.
We started the day with Birria tacos with bone marrow. I still think about these tacos when I wake up in the morning.
Next we went for chile relleno tacos in downtown Tijuana. These were an entire meal in one brave tortilla. Rice, beans, stuffed pepper, scrambled eggs, and all the salsas on this beast.
From Tijuana's city hall location, we went to Tacos A Vapor (steamed tacos) for some potato and chicharron tacos in Tijuana's Otay area. These are similar to tacos de canasta (basket tacos) in Mexico City and other places around Mexico.
After Tacos a Vapor, it was over to El Mazateño, one of Tijuana's best places to eat seafood tacos like the spicy shrimp and crispy octopus taco (with cheese)!
We took a quick taco timeout for sweet raspados (Mexican shaved ice), and then went to Tacos La Glorieta in the Solar neighborhood of Tijuana.
Last but certainly not least, one of the most popular taco recommendations in Tijuana, Mexico was Tacos El Franc for Adobada and Carne Asada tacos.
The perfect finish to this incredible day of Mexican Street Food here in Tijuana!!
