Tiberias was the center of Jewish life for 600 years nd the seat of the Sanhedrin - the Jewish political and religious leadership, Tiberias was the home town of great Rabbis and the final resting place of Rambam ( Maimonides). Tiberias was founded during the 1st century by King Herod Antipas as a Roman town on the Eastern shores of the Sea of Galilee. This tour will take us to some of the city's highlights such as: Hamat Tveria hot springs, the ancient synagogue with the mosaic floor of the zodiac signes, we will visit the tomb of Maimondes and the Tana'im. We will walk the streets and check the local street food with a tasty Shawarma at Yehuda's corner. We will visit the Tiberias promanade and see some of the old walls and the Mosque built in the 18th century by Daher al-Omer , the govener of Galilee under Othoman rule.

Tiberias is an Israeli city on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee. Established around 20 CE, it was named in honour of the second emperor of the Roman Empire, Tiberius. In 2019 it had a population of 44,779.

Until I’ve completed my post about the Galilee, here is a summary of what was discussed:
Main sites:
Akko (also written Acre) - a small city on the shore of the Mediterranean. It is a city of two historical layers: the underground Crusader city and the Ottoman city we see today.
Rosh HaNikra - at the northernmost point of the Israeli coastline is the closed border with Lebanon. Here you can visit the grottoes (not mentioned in the video).
Nazareth - the largest Arab city in Israel. Numerous churches, the most important of which is of course the Basilica of the Annunciation.
Tiberias - lies on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. The city itself could be more appealing, but it makes for a good base for trips around the Sea of Galilee.

HaHula - Israel is a paradise for birdwatchers, with half a billion birds migrating through Israel twice every year (in spring and in autumn).
Mount Meron - standing at 1208 meters tall, the highest mountain in the Galilee is a great place to hike.

It isn’t easy to reach parks and small villages outside the cities by means of public transportation. You can rent a car in Tel Aviv (which is also a good option if you want to visit Caesarea). In the Galilee you can rent a car in Haifa or Tiberias.
