Its medieval old town centers around Marktplatz, dominated by the 16th-century, red-sandstone Town Hall. Its 12th-century Gothic cathedral has city views, and contains the tomb of the 16th-century Dutch scholar, Erasmus. The city’s university houses some of Erasmus’ works.

Die schönsten Ausflugsziele der Schweiz - Freilichtmuseum Ballenberg
Ich war schon in vielen Ländern dieser Welt aber in der Schweiz, meiner Heimat, habe ich so vieles noch nicht gesehen. Deshalb habe ich mich entschlossen, verschiedene Orte in der Schweiz zu besuchen, welche ich noch nicht kenne oder wo ich schon lange nicht mehr war.
In meiner Filmreihe Die schönsten #Ausflugsziele der #Schweiz zeige ich Euch gerne diese Orte.
Diesmal haben wir das Freilichtmuseum #Ballenberg besucht. Dies befindet sich im Berner Oberland, am oberen Ende des Brienzersees oder am Fusse des Brünigpasses.
Das Freilichtmuseum Ballenberg zeigt auf einer riesigen Fläche historische Gebäude aus der ganzen Schweiz. Das Gelände ist in verschiedene Regionen aus der Schweiz aufgeteilt. In den Häusern wird ebenfalls altes Handwerk gezeigt, welches man teilweise sogar selbst ausprobieren kann. Auserdem werden regelmässig Sonderausstellungen und Aufführungen gezeigt.
Wir sind erst nach dem Mittag angekommen und haben deshalb nur etwa die hälfte der Häuser gesehen. Wer alles in einem Tag sehen will, muss früh dort sein und gut zu fuss sein. Das Gelände ist sehr weitläufig. Wer nicht laufen will, kann sich auch gegen eine Gebühr mit der Pferdekutsche durchs Gelände chauffieren lassen.

Drämmli Basel Tram Linie 10 nach Rodersdorf
Die Basler Tramlinie 10 ist mit fast 26 km Länge die längste Tramlinie Basels und gehört zu den längsten Tramlinien Europas. Zudem führt sie - als internationale Seltenheit - durch zwei Staaten. Sie verbindet das solothurnische Rodersdorf via Leymen (Frankreich) und dem Leimental mit der Stadt Basel und fährt via Neuewelt/Grün 80 ins Birseck bis nach Dornach.
Die am 4. Oktober 1887 als schmalspurige Nebenbahn eröffnete Birsigtalbahn besitzt vor allem im oberen Teil zwischen Ettingen und Rodersdorf Eisenbahncharakter. Dort gilt die Betriebsordnung der Eisenbahnen. 1887 fuhren die ersten Vororts-Dampfzüge Basels von Basel nach Therwil. Am 1. Juni 1905 wurde der Betrieb elektrifiziert, die Betriebsspannung betrug 750 Volt Gleichstrom. Am 1. Mai 1910 fuhren die ersten Züge auf der erweiterten Strecke bis Rodersdorf.
