If you’re into learning about world religions, you’ll hit the jackpot in Thailand.
In this video we present you with 10 of the most stunning temples in all of Thailand.

Thailand is filled with magnificent Buddhist temples, some dating back centuries, others much, much younger.

There are temples in Thailand made out of wood, stone and even recycled beer bottles, but their grandeur is something to behold.

1. Sanctuary of Truth.
The Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya gives new meaning to the word “impressive.”
Intricate carvings cover every inch of the wood structure, which is filled with traditional Buddhist and Hindu decorations.
It is a newer temple, a work in progress, as it began in 1981 and is scheduled to be completed in 2050.

2. Wat Phra That Lampang Luang.
Wat Phra That Lampang Luang is one of the most sacred temples in Thailand, home to a strand of Buddha’s hair.
It also is considered one of the best examples of Lanna architecture.

3. Temple of a Million Bottles.
The Temple of a Million Bottles (Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew) isn’t your usual Buddhist temple, indeed, it is one of the more unique temples you’ll find in Thailand.
The complex incorporates about 1.5 million recycled glass bottles in its design. Mainly green Heineken and brown Chang bottles are used
and bottle caps are used to create mosaics.

4. Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) may be misnamed, because the only thing in common with Buddha and emerald is, the colour green.
The 66-centimeters (26-inch) high Buddha is made of jasper or jade.
Still, it occupies a place of honour in this temple on the Grand Palace grounds.
The Buddha, which is clad in gold, is believed to date back to the 15th century.

5. Wat Mahathat, Sukhothai.
Wat Mahathat, located in northern Thailand’s Sukhothai Historical Park, is an ancient temple that is considered the park’s most important and impressive temple.
There are 168 sculptures of Buddhist disciples with hands clasped which decorate the base of the main stupa, which was built to contain the relics which belonged to Buddha.

6. Wat Arun.
Wat Arun is known as the Temple of Dawn, but it might just as easily be known as the Temple of Magnificence.
This temple, which overlooks the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, is nothing short of spectacular when it’s lit up against the night sky.

7. Wat Chaiwatthanaram.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram is an awesome temple complex in Ayutthaya, which is known as the ancient capital of Thailand.
It was built to honour the king’s mother and this temple is the most visited site in Ayutthaya.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram is situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, but even though the scenic river is beautiful, it is no match for this temple.

8. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is one of the must-sees when you’re visiting Chiang Mai.
It's one of the most sacred temples in Northern Thailand. The temple’s name is often refered to as Doi Suthep, although, this is actually the name of the mountain it’s located on.
The temple, about 15 km (10 miles) from Chiang Mai, and is still a working Buddhist monastery that was built in the 14th century.
The top of the temple is decorated with a golden spire, surrounded by shrines.
9. Temple of the Reclining Buddha.

Bangkok’s Temple of the Reclining Buddha is home the largest collection of Buddhas in Thailand, including a reclining Buddha that is 45 meters (150 feet) long.
It's built on an island next to The Grand Palace, and this temple complex is considered to be the best of the royal temples.
Wat Pho is one of Bangkok’s oldest temples and is considered the birthplace of Thai massage.
An early centre for public education, walls are decorated with inscriptions on various subjects.

10. White Temple.
The White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) is a gorgeous gingerbread creation that is one of the newest temples in Thailand, being built in 1997.
Reminiscent of a fairy tale castle covered with snow, you could imagine this being home to a ferocious ogre.
A highlight of this privately-owned temple is the bridge of the cycle of rebirth, under which outstretched hands reach for the sky.
Across the bridge is the Gate of Heaven where two creatures decide the fate of the dead.

So, there you have it, 10 of the most amazing temples in Thailand.
If you are visiting Thailand, make sure you check them out.

DO'S and DON'TS in Thailand

DO'S and DON'TS in THAILAND

If you are travelling to Bangkok, Thailand, taking the time to learn about the culture is very important and appreciated by the locals. By watching this video, you are on the right track to understanding Thai Culture!

We are here to give you the most important Do’s and don’ts in Thailand.

In this video we explain you 10 do's and don'ts for when you are visiting Thailand! These cultural tips will get you started when you just arrive in Thailand or your trip to Asia.

by Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours.

*
Looking for an authentic and unique adventure? Co van Kessel bike tours and boat tours provides a refreshing alternative to the tired tourist experience. We do not battle the crowds at clichéd destinations promoted in guide books, but turn your attention to quaint local communities and charming excursions into the fascinating lifestyle and culture of real Thai people. Every day is different and every tour is a surprise as we focus not on destinations, but lose ourselves in the enchantment of the journey itself.

Co van Kessel, an innovative and adventurous Dutchman, pioneered bicycle tours in Bangkok more than 30 years ago. As a longtime resident and self-professed lover of Bangkok, he understood very well the picture of accelerated urban development (gridlocked traffic, concrete towers, and choking pollution) that has plagued the recent image of the city. He also had a hunch that this was not what Bangkok or Thailand was all about.

Making it his goal to re-discover Bangkok, Co spent thousands of hours on his mountain bike exploring the vast network of local streets, alleyways, footpaths and canals between the main urban thoroughfares. What he found, lurking behind the facade of modernization, were hidden worlds of peace and tranquility, a picture of “real” Thai life that has remained unchanged for countless decades; an identity of a city that is true to the Thai people, yet largely unknown to outsiders.

Whether it’s the colorful sights and smells of the local markets, the fascinating life of locals along the canals, or the surprising existence of bountiful green belts, Co discovered the essence of what makes Bangkok one of Asia’s most captivating cities. Since then, it has been his mission to share these discoveries with the rest of the world.

What we do

Our mission at Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours is to provide our guests with a singularly unique travel experience in Thailand. All our tours use Co’s extensive topographical knowledge of the greater Bangkok area as well as his keen eye for the interesting to take you where nobody else can or will.

We aim not to bore you with talk, but to immerse you in an experience where your individual fascinations emerge.

Bicycles, boats, and our feet become the tools we use to gain access to the previously inaccessible, behind-the-scenes lifestyle of the Thai. Here the roots of an ancient culture will become evident in a way you never could have imagined.

The last video with our parents!!! ????
In this Thailand Travel Vlog we take our parents to Ayutthaya - the ancient capital of Siam! Ayutthaya is an UNESCO World Heritage Site full of ruins and historical sites. It's also really easy to get to from Bangkok!! If you're visiting Bangkok, try to take a day trip up to Ayutthaya!
There are tons of ruins to visit, but when we went some of them were actually flooded and we weren't able to visit two of our favorite Ayutthaya temples! However, our parents still loved it and had a great time!
In this video we started at the famous Reclining Buddha (Wat Lokaya Sutha), then went to Wat Mahathat (with the famous Buddha head in the tree), Phra Mongkhon Bophit, tried to go to Wat Chaiwatthanaram, and finally Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon before heading back to Bangkok. It was a great day in Ayutthaya!!!

5 Places to visit in Bangkok.

** JJ GREEN HAS CLOSED DOWN SINCE SEPTEMBER 2018! **

If you are planning your trip to Bangkok, you’ll probably hear the same things over and over again. The grand palace, reclining buddha and khao san road. Now we are not saying these places are bad, but we would just like to give you some alternatives.

Here is OUR list of places to visit in Bangkok.

Wat Prayoon is open everyday and there is no entrance fee.

2. Saphan Taksin Park

5. Co van Kessel
The address is: Charoen Krung soi 24.

What we do:

FREEZING 1730m altitude trip and beautiful Nana resort & cafe tour | Phu Thap Boek Thailand

We went on a road trip to the North of Thailand, we stopped in a nice little restaurant/hotel Nana resort & cafe...we had such a relaxing time next to a nice pond and rice fields, enter the restaurant name on your GPS and it will guide you.

we wanted to see the morning mist covering the mountains feet...and make beautiful footage of these clouds touching the ground down in the valley but...UNFORTUNATELY we were there at the wrong time of year and there was no mist (just some tiny little clouds here and there only).

So we didn't stay very long, we arrived in the evening and left the day after late morning as this was the main thing we wanted to see and film, but we still wanted to show you how beautiful this area is, specially at sunrise and sunset.

You will make beautiful photos from the view point and enjoy this amazing view !!! and if you like colder temperature, you are going to love this place ????

we hope that you will enjoy traveling with us...and see you in the next video...

Leave a comment and let us know your feeling about this and if you have any suggestion about a new place to visit...we'll be happy to know about it.

Bangkok's Green Lung - Bang Krachao Day Trip with floating market, bicycles, and Thai food!

If you liked this video, please give it a THUMBS UP ???????? SUBSCRIBE ???? and SHARE with your friends! This is the best way to help us make more videos in the future!
????????????

All the info you need to know before going to this amazing island:

We had a free day while in Bangkok so we decided to check out Bang Krachao (Bang Kachao) - Bangkok's Green Lung! We'd heard of this 'island in the middle of Bangkok', but we'd never been. We weren't sure how there was an island in the middle of this huge city...but the Green Lung did not disappoint!!! This is such an amazing little get away from the city! It's perfect for both a little day trip as well as a weekend getaway without having to travel far! It you want to stay overnight, check out which is the most popular place to stay on Bang Krachao (although not the only option - see our blog post for more)! It's so fun to rent a bike and explore this little island! Both on the main roads as well as the little paths over the water that Bang Krachao has become known for! It also has a floating market (although it's really a market next to little rivers).
