TETOVO reminded me more of countries with Muslim populations like Turkey and Morocco.
Shop signs were no longer in the Cyrillic alphabet used in Macedonia.
There is a stone bridge over a river that flows through the heart of TETOVO, and as soon as you drive in, you’ll see Tetovo’s biggest attraction,
The painted Mosque. I’ve seen nothing like it before, and you will realise how special it is.
I was welcomed inside to see its equally beautiful interior. It is meticulously decorated with vibrant artwork and chandelier lights.
This was the first time I’d ever been into a mosque; I’m not religious; however, I appreciate architecture and arts.

It's my first video in Macedonia and I was eager to get out into the country to see what I would find. I met Ron, a native of Tetovo online and he invited me to come with him to his town, just one hour away from Skopje to see how the people there are living close to the Albanian border. Tetovo, being nearly 80% ethnically Albanian is very different than much of Macedonia to the east, making for an interesting blend of Macedonia and Albania in one place. We go to old Ottoman architectural gems, try local food and get a taste of the local life in this video.

If you're wondering if you should take the trip from Skopje to Tetovo to see this beautiful painted mosque, the answer is yes. It's beautiful inside and out and the people there were very welcoming.

Sadece 20 dakikalık seyahatten sonra Kosova sınırına varıyorsunuz. Sınırdan sonra 2 saatlik yolunuz kalıyor. Sınır polisleri çok cana yakın. Türk olduğunuzu öğrenince yardımcı oluyorlar. Kosova’ ya geçişte PCR testiniz olmalı bunu unutmayın. Üsküp merkezde yer alan Acıbadem Sistina hastanesinde 400₺ karşılığında sıra beklemeden PCR testi yaptırabilirsiniz.
Kuzey Makedonya Üsküp’ ten Arnavutluk Tiran’ a geçiş: Üsküp’ ten Tiran’ a yolculuk için şehir merkezindeki otobüs terminaline gitmelisiniz. Ortalama 3 saat sürecek yolculuktan sonra Tiran’ dasınız. Ücret 350mkd= 55₺. Arnavutluk’ a giriş için PCR testine ihtiyacınız yok.
