Malta | 20 Things to Do | Travel video | GoPro 10 & DJI Mini 2

In October 2021, I visited the island of Malta and then the second island of the Republic of Malta, the island of Gozo. However, this video is about the main island of Malta, Malta. The whole trip was nice and Malta offers a lot of history. Malta also has many beautiful sandy beaches (like the Golden Beach or Paradise Bay). The old town of Mdina was especially beautiful. The capital Valletta is also beautiful, but it is very commercial. Instead, I recommend visiting the picturesque city of Marsaxlokk. Personally, I missed more nature, but natural landmarks like Blue Grotto and Dingli Cliffs are beautiful. Lovers of ancient history must not miss the ancient temples Tarxien and Ħaġar Qim.

The Maltese Archipelago, located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, is made up of three islands: Malta, Gozo, and Comino. With a history spanning over eight thousand years, the archipelago boasts not only a rich cultural heritage but also stunning landscapes. The seven megalithic temples in Malta were built between 6,000 to 4,500 years ago. Over the centuries, the Maltese islands have been ruled by various powers, including the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Aragonese, the Order of the Knights of St John, French, and British. Malta has three Unesco Heritage Sites and seven on the Tentative List.

10- Gozo Island
Relax on Ramia Bay beach, which is a sandy beach with a clear and calm sea. Make sure you visit the Knights of Malta Experience, and you can also check out the National Museum Of Natural History. If you want more adventure, Marvel at the Mdina Dungeons or wander in Buskett Gardens. Take a stroll along the narrow alleys, view the old Carmelite Church and you will likely forget what century we currently have. After the exploration, head to Coogi’s for a good cup of coffee.

Here, several food outlets are serving traditional meals like Bigilla, and Imqarrun il-forn. You can also get Chinese, Italian, BBQ, American and Mexican food. The alleyways in Tarxien are gorgeous, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for some hidden niches that are tucked away in the corners of narrow alleys.

The Blue Lagoon is an attractive scene of crystal-clear turquoise water which laps over a white-sand beach. Swim in pristine waters and make sure you take your snorkel, explore the past at the historical tower and battery, retreat to the hotel or bungalows and if you want more adventure, go a little wild at Santa Marija camping. Visitors go to the Blue Lagoon to Snorkel and for sightseeing.

2- Blue Grotto
Experience the views of the coast at the entrance to Blue Grotto. It is a thrilling introduction to the nature reserve. The water is blue each time the sun shines, strikingly contrasted with the limestone bluffs and caves. Visit a nearby restaurant to enjoy Aljotta, Bragioli. Kinnie and Fitra. Blue Grotto is a must-visit. To better appreciate the effect of the scorching hot sun on the water, we recommend visiting in the morning when the rays enter the caves more horizontally.

1. Dingli Cliffs
The Dingli Cliffs are great cliffs located over 250 meters above sea level, offering great views. They are 2 kilometers outside Rabat, which makes them a perfect spot to get out of the city and immerse yourself in nature.

Visitors can stroll around but must be mindful not to walk close to the edge of the cliff. There are several ways to reach the Dingli Cliffs, by private island tour, car, or bus. Whichever option you choose, be ready to watch the sun light up the white limestone cliffs.

Tarxien Temples, Malta Island (Megalithic Temples of Malta)

#Tarxien #Malta #TarxienTemples
Visiting the Tarxien Temples was such an unexpected visit. They don't know who built the Tarxien temples, but they are part of Malta's Heritage, alongside with the Ggantija Temples from Gozo Island. There are still a lot of things to be uncovered about these temples from the Megalithic, so don't miss them when you visit Malta.

Travel - Europe- Malta - Tarxien Temples
Travel essentials, all you need disposable items:

Malta is the largest in a group of seven islands that occupy a strategic position between Europe and Africa. The island's history is long and turbulent. Everyone from the Normans to the Nazis have vied for control of this small, honey-colored rock. For centuries the island was the possession of the knightly Order of St. John - the Knights Hospitaller. Valletta, Malta's current capital, was planned by the Order's Grandmaster Jean de la Valette to secure the island's eastern coast from Turk incursions. Founded in 1566, Valletta's bustling streets are lined with superb Baroque buildings and churches.
Malta has a long history: the megalithic stone temples at Gozo may be the oldest freestanding structures on Earth. Malta has two official languages, Maltese (constitutionally the national language) and English. Malta was admitted to the European Union in 2004 and in 2008 became part of the eurozone.
Valletta is the capital city of Malta. Located in the south east of the island, between Marsamxett Harbour to the west and the Grand Harbour to the east, Valletta is the southernmost capital of Europe, and at just 0.3 square miles, it is the European Union's smallest capital city.
Valletta's 16th-century buildings were constructed by the Knights Hospitaller. The city is Baroque in character, with elements of Mannerist, Neo-Classical and Modern architecture, though the Second World War left major scars on the city, particularly the destruction of the Royal Opera House. The city was officially recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980.
The city's fortifications, consisting of bastions, curtains and cavaliers, along with the beauty of its Baroque palaces, gardens and churches, led the ruling houses of Europe to give the city its nickname Superbissima[citation needed] – Latin for Most Proud.

Valletta - Malta's capital and a World Heritage site is an eclectic blend of Baroque architecture, the majestic St. John's Co-Cathedral, quaint cafes and wine bars.
St. John's Cathedral - The austere façade of St. John's Cathedral stands in marked contrast to its interior which boasts a stunning vaulted ceiling adorned with frescoes. St. John's Cathedral houses the famous painting by Caravaggio 'The beheading of St.John'.
(The Beheading of St.John)。
Mdina - Perched atop a plateau, this impressive medieval city was Malta's capital before Valletta was built.

Prehistoric Malta Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Prehistoric Malta.
Malta’s temples are older than the Egyptian pyramids. Indeed, the tiny Mediterranean island is a veritable archaeological treasure trove and its largest prehistoric temple site is situated in Tarxien. The remains of the religious sanctuary were discovered in 1914 when local farmers stumbled across some huge blocks of stone while ploughing their fields. Subsequent excavation of the site revealed several remarkable prehistoric finds such as fragments of pottery, stone images and a large number of urns. Carbon dating has established that the Tarxien temples date back to between 3,300 to 2,400 B.C. The temple area, and those of its rocks that have been partially decorated with geometrical forms, extend across an area of several hundred metres. The massive rocks raise the question of how those who brought them to this location were able to transport such heavy material here four thousand five hundred years ago.

Top 10 Malta Cities By Population

Malta, a small island nation located in the Mediterranean Sea, has a rich history that includes various influences from different civilizations. The population of Malta has seen changes over the years. Here is a brief overview of Malta's population history:

- Prehistoric Period: Malta has evidence of human habitation dating back to around 5200 BC. During this period, the population of Malta consisted of ancient civilizations such as the Għar Dalam phase, the Temple period (Tarxien, Ħaġar Qim, Mnajdra), and the Bronze Age cultures.

- Phoenician and Roman Periods: In the 8th century BC, Phoenician settlers arrived on the islands, followed by Roman occupation in 218 BC. The population during this time was relatively small and consisted of the indigenous population and the incoming settlers.

- Arab Rule: In the 9th century AD, Malta came under Arab rule. The Arab period saw the introduction of the Arabic language and Islamic culture. The population of Malta during this time was influenced by the Arab settlers and the existing population.

- Norman and Medieval Periods: In 1091, Malta was conquered by the Normans, and it subsequently became a part of the Kingdom of Sicily. The population grew during the medieval period due to the arrival of settlers from various Mediterranean countries, including Sicily, Italy, and Spain.

- Knights of Malta: In 1530, the Knights Hospitaller, known as the Knights of Malta, took control of the islands. The population during this time consisted of the Knights, their retinue, and the local population. The Knights brought in reinforcements from different European countries, which contributed to the island's population growth.

- British Rule: Malta came under British rule in 1800, and it remained a British colony until 1964. During this period, the population of Malta increased significantly due to factors such as better healthcare, improved living conditions, and immigration from neighboring countries.

- Independence and Modern Era: Malta gained independence from Britain in 1964 and became a republic in 1974. The population continued to grow steadily, and in recent years, Malta has experienced a significant increase in population due to factors such as immigration and economic development.

Malta was estimated to be around 514,000 people. However, please note that population figures can change over time, and for the most up-to-date information, it is recommended to refer to official sources such as the National Statistics Office of Malta.
