Taroudant/تارودانت Walled City Virtual Tour - Morocco【4K, 60fps】????????

Explore with me the city of Taroudant and its Medina

This video has been filmed in 4k, 60 fps using the DJI Pocket 2. The camera:

(This is an Amazon Affiliate link so if you buy anything through this link, it will support this channel and I'll be eternally grateful! Yes, eternally.)

In this video, we walk around the city of Taroudant (Tachelhit: Tarudant, ⵜⴰⵔⵓⴷⴰⵏⵜ; Arabic: تارودانت, tārūdānt, [taːruːdaːnt]) which is located in the Sous valley in Morocco, about 80km off the Atlantic coast. I take you to several mosque and through the medina. We pass multiple time close to and around the walls of the old city, the fortifications. We walk through a souk / market, small streets, large avenues and to authentic and traditional neighborhoods.

Taroudant is situated east of Agadir on the road to Ouarzazate and the Sahara desert and south of Marrakesh. The town is known as the Grandmother of Marrakech because it looks like a smaller Marrakech with its surrounding ramparts. In the sixteenth century, the Saadi dynasty briefly used Taroudant as a capital before it moved its royal seat onwards to Marrakesh. Today, the city has the feel of a small fortified market town on a caravan route. Taroudant is known for its local crafts, including jewellery and carpets.
Unlike Marrakesh, almost the entire city of Taroudant is located inside its walls. A new part of the city is being developed outside the city walls around the campus of a faculty of the Ibn Zohr University of Agadir.
The Medina of Taroudant is the oldest part of the city of Taroudant. It was the first capital city of the Saadi dynasty before moving to Marrakech.
The town walls are nearly 6 kilometres long and are set with bastions and punctuated by nine gates that are still in use. Outside the wall is a small tannery mainly in the business of travel equipment for camel riding, such as goat skin, camel hide sandals, leather bags and belts.
The Berber market, called Jnane al-Jaami, sells spices and dried fruits but mostly clothes and household goods. The Berber souk, as well specializes in handicrafts such as terracotta, wrought iron, pottery, brass and copper, leather and carpets, rugs and jewellery.

#agadir #agadirmorocco

Number 6. VISIT THE MEMOIRE D'AGADIR
Visit the Memoire d'Agadir
If you are wondering what to do in Agadir, definitely visit the Memoire d'Agadir. This small museum on the edge of the Jardin de Olho tells about the terrible earthquake that hit Agadir in 1960. You won't find any high-tech displays. Instead, there are newspaper clippings and photos that explain what happened and how it killed more than 17,000 people and destroyed most of the city. The museum also shows how Agadir has changed since the 1920s. It is in a quiet garden with palm trees and cacti.

Number 5. SHOP IN THE SOUK EL HAD D'AGADIR
Shop in the Souk El Had d'Agadir
Souk El Had is open every day except Monday, so you can take in its colours, smells, and sights. It's one of the biggest markets in Morocco, with about 6,000 stalls spread out over more than 13ha (32 acres). You can enter through one of 12 gates and look around stores filled with everything from spices to piles of colourful fruits and vegetables, clay tagines, handmade rugs, and home goods. Even though some sellers have set prices, most of the time you can negotiate.

Number 4. EAT AT LES BLANCS
Eat at Les Blancs
Visit the Spanish-Mediterranean restaurant Les Blancs if you want to eat while taking in a beautiful view. This popular restaurant is on Agadir Beach, right in front of the marina. It has terraces where you can sit outside and watch the sea. Fresh seafood and tapas are on the menu, and there are even 10 different kinds of paella. The staff is known for their friendly service, which brings in both locals and yachters.

Number 3.RELAX IN A HAMMAM
Relax in a hammam
A must thing to do in Agadir is relax in a hammam. A trip to a hammam is a great way to get a taste of Moroccan culture. It's a sacred ritual for the people who live there, and they usually go there once a week to get a deep clean and meet new people. Open your pores with steam, and then get ready for a deep body scrub with black-olive-oil soap, which will leave you feeling completely clean. If you want a more luxurious experience, go to the Argan Palace, where you can choose a private hammam followed by a relaxing massage.

Number 2.HIT THE BEACH
Hit the beach
Agadir is the most popular beach town in Morocco. It has a long stretch of honey-colored sand that is great for sunbathing. The beach at nearby Essaouira is almost always beaten up by the Atlantic winds, but this one is protected and the waves break far out to sea. During the busy summer months, the beach will be clean and there will be lifeguards on duty. Plan a boat trip along the coast, sign up for surf lessons, and eat a meal on the busy promenade with a view of the water.

Number 1.AGADIR OUFELLA
Agadir Oufella
You can hike up to the Agadir Oufella ruins, also called the Kasbah, which are on a hilltop and look out over the fishing port and beach of the city. Explore what's left of this old fortress. It was built in 1540 to protect Agadir from Portuguese attacks, but an earthquake in 1960 destroyed it. Even though only the crumbling walls and the entrance portal are left of the site, it still has beautiful views of Agadir at sunset.

-Then we go get a snack, explore some more and show you a different cityscape.
