A LOVELY DAY IN TARNOW, POLAND
Tarnow might be the one of the smallest cities we’ve been to in Poland but it was a pleasant surprise. The fun starts at a nostalgic tram cafe before we practice our Polish at the local ‘Burek’ market. We had lunch at a milk bar, toured some more sights in the old town and end our day in Tarnow with some local liquor called tarninowka. Next up in our Poland travel series is….Katowice!

Jezioro Tarnobrzeskie - Machów z lotu ptaka / drona Super miejsce na weekend
Jezioro Tarnobrzeskie to 455 hektarów lustra wody, najdłuższa plaża w południowej Polsce i otoczenie pełne atrakcji. To drugi pod względem wielkości akwen wodny na Podkarpaciu i czwarty najgłębszy, wśród sztucznych zbiorników.
Akwen nazywany jest „cudem ekologii”, gdyż powstał w wyniku wypełnienia wodą pokopalnianego wyrobiska, które przed rozpoczęciem procesu rekultywacji miało 560 ha powierzchni i 110 metrów głębokości. 90 procent wody, którą tutaj wpuszczono miało pierwszą klasę czystości. Była więc krystalicznie czysta. Dla utrzymania tego efektu, co roku jej część jesienią jest spuszczana do Wisły, a wiosną zastępuje się ją czystą wodą.

Строительство Дзиковского замка было начато в XV веке. Первоначально замок планировался как оборонное здание. В XVII и XVIII веках замок был переоборудован для нужд шляхетского рода Тарновских, именем которого он стал называться. К замку были добавлены фортификационные сооружения. В 1830 году замок был перестроен в неоготическом стиле по проекту архитектора Франциска Марии Ланци. В нём расположился музей, в котором разместились произведения искусства, библиотека и архив, предоставленные жителями Тарнобжега. В 1834 году в музей были переданы коллекция Тарновских, содержащая картины европейских художников XVI-XVIII вв., обширную библиотеку с рукописью книги «Пан Тадеуш» Адама Мицкевича, родовой архив Тарновских, а также предметы народного искусства. XIX веке вокруг замка был разбит парк. В 1929 году случился пожар, после которого здание было перестроено в барочном стиле. В 2003 году Министерство культуры Польши объявило Дзиковский замок музеем. С 2006 года в замке проводится ремонт, который планируется закончить в 2011 году. После ремонта в замке планируется разместить часть Дзиковской коллекции. В 2007 году замок был передан Историческому музею города Тарнобжега.

Jezioro Tarnobrzeskie / rowerem / 74 km
Tarnobrzeg Lake is 455 hectares of water surface, the longest beach in southern Poland and an area full of attractions. It is the second largest water reservoir in Podkarpacie and the fourth deepest among artificial reservoirs.
The reservoir is called the miracle of ecology because it was created as a result of filling the post-mining excavation with water, which before the reclamation process was started, had an area of 560 ha and 110 meters deep. 90 percent of the water that was put in here was first class. So it was crystal clear. In order to maintain this effect, part of it is drained into the Vistula river every year in autumn, and it is replaced with clean water in spring. About 5 million m3 of water is exchanged!
The reservoir is a great place for water sports - sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. There are two wakeboarding lifts and a diving base from which you can go on an underwater journey to a depth of up to 42 meters. On the shores of the reservoir, there is a riverside hostel and a quay, as well as numerous water equipment rentals. The longest zipline in Poland is also located here. The length of the ropes, some of which run above the water, is 500 meters. In summer, you can also use the water amusement park. Soon, a rope park by the beach will also be launched.
Tarnobrzeg can boast the longest beach in southern Poland. Its length is about 2 kilometers. However, the length of the entire coastline is almost 11 kilometers. The whole lake is covered by the silence zone, which means that you will be disturbed by the roar of motorboats or jet skis.

Akwen jest świetnym miejscem do uprawiania sportów wodnych - żeglarstwa, windsurfingu czy kitesurfingu. Działają tutaj dwa wyciągi do wakeboardingu i baza nurkowa, za pośrednictwem której można wyruszyć w podwodną podróż na głębokość nawet 42 metrów. Nad brzegiem akwenu funkcjonuje stanica wodniacka i keja, a także liczne wypożyczalnie sprzętu pływającego. To tutaj znajduje się także najdłuższa tyrolka w Polsce. Długość lin, z których część przebiega nad wodą, to równe 500 metrów. Latem można także korzystać z wodnego parku rozrywki. Niebawem uruchomiony zostanie również park linowy przy plaży.
Tarnobrzeg może pochwalić się najdłuższą plażą w południowej Polsce. Jej długość to około 2 kilometrów. Natomiast długość całej linii brzegowej to niemal 11 kilometrów. Całe jezioro jest objęte „strefą ciszy”, co oznacza, że odpoczynku na nie będzie mącić Was ryk silników motorówek czy skuterów wodnych.

The Sandomierz Royal Castle (Polish: Zamek Królewski w Sandomierzu) is a medieval structure in Sandomierz, Poland. It was built on a slope of Vistula River by Casimir III the Great and extended in the 16th century. The original building was blown up in 1656, leaving only the west wing standing. It was later transformed into a Renaissance styled residence with the west wing preserved as a museum. The 14th-century castle was built on the site of the existing stronghold in the 10th century. Between 1146-1166 it was the seat of Prince Henry of Sandomierz, son of Bolesław III Wrymouth. The Gothic castle was built by Casimir the Great. The remnants of the Gothic structure are visible in the foundations of the octagonal tower of the south corner, which is the oldest part of the monument. The existing tower was built during the reign of Casimir IV Jagiellon in the 15th century as an integral part of the so-called Great House, the seat of the prince.
During the reign of Sigismund I the Old and Sigismund II Augustus, the castle was enlarged. The Sigismund the Old's cornerstone preserved above the entrance on the east side of the array. It bears the date 1520 and a cartouche with Sigismund's eagle. The construction was supervised by the Royal architect Benedyct Sandomierski, who erected two-storey arcaded cloisters around a closed courtyard.
During the Deluge the castle was blown up by the retreating Swedish troops of general Sincler. About fifty Poles, who entered the abandoned castle, were killed.
