Tandag City Mindanao
Tandag is a 5th class city and capital of the province of Surigao del Sur , Philippines . According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 56,364 people in 12,014 households.
Tandag annually celebrates the feast day of San Nicolas de Tolentino, Tandag's patron saint, every 10 September. A novena in honour of San Nicholas is held for nine consecutive days starting the 1st of September in the San Nicholas de Tolentino Cathedral.
Since Tandag is the capital of the province of Surigao del Sur, it hosts the annual Araw ng Surigao del Sur Celebration. A trade fair showcasing the products from the different municipalities of Surigao del Sur is one of the week-long events while a local pageant entitled, Mutya ng Surigao del Sur held at the Tandag City Gymnasium in Bongtud serves as the highlight of the event.
La Jara is the so-called 'Starbucks' of the city. The quaint coffee shop is situated in Osmena Street in Bag-ong Lungsod.
Nico's Grill located Near Pimentel Sports Complex is the new clubbing central in Tandag. Most Tandaganons flock here for a well-deserved night out with friends and family.
Shrine of the Our Lady of Lourdes at Bongtud is located at the summit of a mountain where one can see a full three sixty view of the city.
Tandag Town Plaza in downtown Tandag located near Saint Theresa College and the San Nicholas de Tolentino Cathedral. One can enjoy a lazy afternoon in the park while eating an ice cream from nearby snack bars.
Tandag Boulevard in Mabua is best visited at night with the colorful lamp posts, windy sea air and various stalls that offer Filipino streetfood like fish balls, kwek kwek, barbequed pork, isaw, etc.
Capitol Hills in Telaje also offers a good view of the city. The Governor Murillo Sports Complex, the newly renovated Provincial Capitol, Social Hall and the Tennis Court are all located here.
On the 10th - located in Haguisan Inn, the heart of the city, it's ideal for quite private dining or get together.

Tandag, officially the City of Tandag, is a 5th class component city and capital of the province of Surigao del Sur, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 62,669 people. Farming and fishing are the main economic activity for most of the people in.
Tandag has a land area of 291.73 square kilometers or 112.64 square miles. This constitutes 5.91% of the land area of Surigao del Sur. The population density of the city is at 193 inhabitants per square kilometer or 500 inhabitants per square mile.

Along the NATIONAL ROAD of AGUSAN del SUR, we were amazed by the AVATAR's PANDORA FOREST like SCENERY of FALCATA TREES and FERNS.

Surigao is one of the places you should try to visit in the Philippines. Many had probably confused or misspelled this place to Siargao Island, but it’s never a deal anyway since, both offers great attractions among tourists and locals as well.
The province is hereby divided into two provinces, one to be known as Surigao del Norte and the other as Surigao del Sur. Surigao City is Surigao del Norte’s capital city meanwhile, Tandag City is Surigao del Sur’s capital.
In this video I was Discovering Beautiful Paradise in Philippines by travelling to Surigao del Sur, Tandag City, Alameda Farm, Enchanted River, Cagwait White Sands Beach, New San Nicolas De Tolentino Cathedral, Britania Islands, Mindanao. Some of these places were also covered by Jessica Soho Travel Diary.
The Hinatuan Enchanted River, also called the Hinatuan Sacred River, is a deep spring river on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. The river's unusual colors and unexplored depths have inspired various local legends. One story tells of fairies that added the colors of sapphire and jade to the river to make its unique shade. Local fisherfolk also report seeing fish in the river that cannot be caught through any means. According to locals, the river was called the Enchanted River because of the engkantos that dwell there. Their legends also say that the river is haunted by supernatural beings which act as its protectors.

LASWITAN LAGOON CORTES, SURIGAO DEL SUR | DRONE SHOTS | HD | TRIP OUTDOOR
Laswitan has been quickly popular with tourists traveling to Surigao del Sur.
Laswitan is a 20-foot rock formation with three lagoons. The name derives from the word ‘laswit’ which means splash. When the water is high, it creates huge waves that will splash on the rocks and it creates a waterfall effect.
Once you get at the entrance, visitors will have a quick briefing about some reminders for visiting Laswitan.
Laswitan has three lagoons:
Lagoon 1
Visitors can swim but they are advised to be careful because there are sea urchins in the lagoon.
Lagoon 2
It is the most popular, it is bigger and a lot of people swim in this area. However, visitors are advised not to go beyond the rope and always use lifejacket to prevent accidents.
Lagoon 3
Is a swimming area and it is 10 ft. deep. The guide said it is for adults only.
When we got here, there are some people are jumping off from the small cliff into the water.

Parking Fee:
Car – Php30
Motorcycle – Php10
You can bring food – they have cottages that serve as a viewing area where you can see the ‘laswit’ or splash of water from a distance.

No Littering
No Smoking
No Liquor
No Pets Allowed
No Climbing on the rocks
No Vandalism
Visit Laswitan around October to March, or during Amihan season, when the waves are bigger.
How to Get to Laswitan, Cortes, Surigao del Sur:
From Cebu – You can book a plane via Cebu Pacific to Surigao City or Butuan City. They have daily flights from Cebu.
From Tandag – Go to the Bus Terminal and then take a jeep/van/bus going to Surigao City. It will take an hour ride.
From Surigao City – Take a bus going to Tandag. Travel time is about 3-4 hours.
From Butuan City – Go to the bus terminal and take a bus going to Tandag. From Butuan airport, vans going to Cortes may be available, just ask.
