2. HOW TO GET TO CAMERON HIGHLANDS

So, how do we get to Cameron Highlands from Kuala Lumpur? The only access to the highlands is by road. It takes roughly about 3.5 - 4 hours drive from KL. There are basically 3 ways of getting there; (a) by bus, (b) booking a tour or (c) driving yourself.

(a) Taking a Bus
- From TBS, (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan) in Kuala Lumpur to Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands.
- One-way tickets cost about RM 35
- If you book online through the RedBus website ( there’s even an option to pick your seats and insurance coverage. (We're not sponsored but Redbus is the one that we frequently use for our travels)

(b) Booking a tour
- Hassle-free
- Most tour packages include transportation, a full-day itinerary, and an English-speaking tour guide. You can also approach your hotels and tourist information centers for more information.

(c) Driving
- There are 2 main routes to get there from the North-South Expressway.
- Option 1: by taking the Tapah Exit 132/Route 59. It is a shorter route hence faster but the road is very windy and narrow.
- Option 2: by taking the Simpang Pulai Exit 137/Route 185 (which is the route that we took). It is a slightly longer route, but the road is much straighter and more comfortable to drive on. Highly recommend especially if you have motion sickness. (30 minutes longer)

3. WHERE TO STAY IN CAMERON HIGHLANDS

There are 2 main areas in Cameron Highlands that the majority of the hotels are located; Tanah Rata and Brinchang.

➡️Where we stayed:
????Century Pines Resort

- Tanah Rata:
Main administrative town, there are many shops, banks, tour agents, eateries and a bus terminal, which is where the buses from KL would stop. It is more commercialized here compared to Brinchang.

- Brinchang:
Second largest town after Tanah Rata. You’ll find the main center of Brinchang more densely developed compared to Tanah Rata with many apartments, shophouses and public buildings clustered closely together. There’s also the other side of Brinchang that’s closer to farms, tourist attractions, and nature.

Overall, there is a wide range of accommodations available in Cameron Highlands; you can find anything from budget homestays to mid-range and luxury hotels with a golf course attached to it. Some places even offer unique experiences like colonial-era bungalows, mini chalets, and a farm stay.

4. CAMERON HIGHLANDS TRAVEL TIPS:
#1 The Weather/Seasons
- very windy and cold especially morning and night. We do suggest bringing along a jacket.
- sunny at noon, do apply sunscreen

#2 Traffic Jams & Peak Periods
- Can get crowded and traffic jams are very common, especially during weekends, school holidays and festive seasons.

#3 Stay Duration
A day trip would be enough to cover the main attractions, whereas at least staying a night or two is preferred for a more relaxed trip.

This is my favourite building in all of Malaysia! Welcome to the historic splendour at The Blue Mansion. The most iconic and well preserve in Malaysia dazzles visitors with its indigo-coloured facade.

Built by wealthy businessman Cheong Fatt Tze. Like the Taj Mahal, the Blue Mansion, which he started constructing in the 1880s, was his love gift to his 7th wife. He was 70 and she was 17. The mansion was his home and office up until his death in 1916.

The mansion is a stunning example of a type of architectural style found in parts of Southeast Asia known as Straits Eclectic. It was built with five courtyards and 38 rooms

Please please join the private group tour to find out all the Feng shui secrets which is the base of all the layout and design here. Many movies was filmed here including Hollywood box office Crazy Rich Asian. There’s also a gorgeous cocktail bar at the back too, don’t miss that!

15 MUST-EAT STREET FOODS in China Town Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA photogenic spots tour

CHINA TOWN Petaling Street is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with many street food stalls.
Chinatown Kuala Lumpur is a food haven of authentic street food and comforting meals to please any like-minded foodie's soul. Most of the stalls are run by aunties and uncles who have been there for decades and even generations.
With its rich history in food culture, its no wonder locals call this place a street food hotspot and the place is usually crowded.
We introduce 15 MUST-EAT street foods. Enjoy!

????For business inquiries:
streetfoodking.br@gmail.com

Here are all the street food stalls and restaurants we ate at on this tour:
00:50 LAI FOONG BEEF NOODLE
Lai Foong beef noodle restaurant has long been famous for beef noodle soup since 1956. You can add beef intestine, tongue, spleen, torpedo, or testicle.
You can choose from Kuew teow, Lai fun, Mee hoon, or Mee.
The very tender and tasty slices of beef and the flavorful broth are a perfect combination!
Price - RM 10 ($2.2)
02:15 ROASTED DUCK RICE
The name of their stall is written in Chinese as follows. Chicken rice that smells a thousand miles away. Their steamed chicken is delicious, but I recommend the roasted duck!
Price - RM 8 ($1.8)
03:05 LALA SOUP NOODLE
Lala means clam. The soup is unique and full of seafood flavor. I can just imagine you slurping down that soup.Try it!
Price - RM 13 ($2.9)
04:37 Hong Kee Famous Claypot Chicken Rice
They cook the rice well over charcoal and can be topped with your choice of chicken, Chinese sausage or fish. The savory aroma of soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice wine spreads as soon as the lid is opened. Well worth it!
Price - RM 21 ($4.7)
05:48 Soong Kee Beef Noodles
They have been serving it for generations for 70 years. Both the tender, juicy slices of beef and the minced beef will be a unique experience!
Price - RM 9 ($2)
06:54 Swiss Roll And Kaya Kok
Lovely 80 year old grandma is the trademark. Kaya jam is not too sweet and the rolls are very light on the palate. You'll find yourself unconsciously devouring two or three slices, and on!
Price - 3 pieces RM 5 ($1.1)
08:03 Kim Soya Bean
They have been selling Soy Bean for nearly 100 years, and we recommend the Tau Fu Fa, which is tasty and soft with a delicious texture.Soy Bean drinks come in a variety of sizes, including cups and bottles, making them the perfect accompaniment while walking around town!
Price - RM 2.4 ($0.5)
09:04 Hon Kee Porridge
This famous porridge restaurant opens early in the morning at 5am.The signature dish, raw fish porridge, is best served with the aroma of sesame oil and ginger. The fish used is Grass Carp. Dipping the fish into the hot porridge lightly cooks it.It will be a very unique experience!
Price - RM 8.5($1.9)
09:54 Chestnut Stall
They roast chestnuts on a small stone heated to nearly 70 degrees Celsius. You can try them from as little as 300 gm, so you might as well buy some to take home as a snack!
Price - RM 10($2.2)
10:36 Sin Kiew Yee Shin Kee Beef Noodles
Authentic beef noodle restaurant with a very long history.Needless to say, the beef is tender and you will be captivated by it. Their clear beef broth is also delicious, and I recommend ordering it dry, meaning no broth!

TANAH MERAH (KELANTAN) - DRONE VIEW - (12 MARCH 2021)

Jajahan Tanah Merah merangkumi tiga Daerah Penggawa, iaitu:

Daerah Bukit Panau
Daerah Ulu Kusial
Daerah Jedok

TANAH MERAH DI HATIKU [WATCH IN HD]

Locations:
[City of Tanah Merah, Kelantan, Malaysia]
Tanah Merah District (meaning Red Land or Laterite, Kelantanese: Tanoh Meghoh) is a district (jajahan) in the state of Kelantan in northeast Malaysia. The urban area of Tanah Merah is situated along the Kelantan River. It is bordered by Pasir Mas District in the north, Machang District to the East, Kuala Krai District to the South East, Jeli District to the South West and Thailand in the West.

Historically it used to be a capital of a kingdom called Chi Tu. Chinese Sui Dynasty annals of the 7th century describe an advanced kingdom called Chi Tu (Red Earth) in the area now called Kelantan. The ancient name for Kelantan was Raktamrittika, meaning Red Earth — this was later changed to Sri Wijaya Mala.

[Guillemard Bridge]
The Guillemard Bridge (Malay: Jambatan Guillemard Jawi: جمبتن ڬويلليمارد) is a single track railway truss bridge located in Kusial, in the state of Kelantan, Malaysia. It is two of the oldest railway bridges in the country after Victoria Bridge in Perak. The bridge was constructed between May 1920 and July 1924 by The Metro Carriage Wagon & Finance Co of Wednesbury, England as a crossing over the Kelantan River. The bridge was officially opened on 1925 by Almarhum Sultan Muhammad IV of Kelantan and named after the British Governor for the Straits Settlements, Sir Laurence Guillemard.

The 600m bridge, said to be the longest railway bridge in the country, is a technological marvel and is still standing strong after nearly a century. The strong, black solid steel bridge has a history worth telling.

In December 1941, at the start of the World War II in Malaya, the British forces retreating south to Kuala Krai, destroyed the last span of the bridge to prevent the Imperial Japanese Army advancing. It remained impassable to traffic until it was reconstructed and reopened to traffic on 7 September 1948.

The bridge was used by all vehicles until February 1988 when a new bridge, Tanah Merah Bridge was completed along Federal Route.
