A scenic road trip from Svedala to Malmö, via Oxie
A coach trip through the Swedish countryside from Svedala to Malmö with a stop in Oxie, in very pleasant bright and clear weather.
I've tried to detail the route taken, for anyone wanting to follow it on a map or Google Earth.
I was working on a machine at a factory in Svedala for several weeks during 2021, staying near the Malmo Arena and commuting on the train. One weekend the tracks were closed for maintenance and a coach service was running instead.
That resulted in two rather more sedate and scenic journeys, which I filmed through the window.
There is not much to see from the normal train route - and that cruises at 160 kph, so not much time to see anything anyway!
The train on that route stops in the town of Oxie, so the replacement service did as well - this time taking a very different route back in to Malmö than via the E65, as it did on the way out of Malmö that morning.
The other video I'm posting has most of the journey to Svedala, early that morning.

The train on that route stops in the town of Oxie, so the replacement service did as well - resulting in a complete loop from the leaving E65 motorway, around the town and getting back on to the E65 at the same junction we left, and giving some good views of the local Swedish architecture.
It was unfortunately raining just before this video starts and the window took a while to dry out enough to get good results; the first part leaving Malmö was unusable due to the focus jumping about.
The other video I'm posting has the return journey with the views to the opposite side of the roads and in rather nicer and brighter weather.
ps. If you are wondering what the Technology connection is - I was programming a Siemens PLC & HMI system for a customer, and that required travel :)

Simrishamn is a locality and the seat of Simrishamn Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 6,527 inhabitants in 2010. Despite its small population, Simrishamn is, for historical reasons, usually still referred to as a city.
Simrishamn is a picturesque coastal town, built around the main street (Storgatan), that passes the market square, itself being the centre of the town.

My Life as an Exchange Student in Sweden
20 years ago, I arrived in Sweden as a wide eyed 18 year old. This was my first major travel experience, and I was scared out of my mind. I'd never been away from home, and I certainly didn't speak any Swedish. Right away however, I was in good hands. I couldn't have asked for better host families, friends and school. My year abroad opened my eyes to a world outside of Boulder, and I loved every second of my experience. Jag Älskar Sverige!

Jakriborg - A colorful village in Skåne | An interesting attraction on a road trip to Malmö and Lund
Like to wander in adorable, charming & colorful towns that are instagram worthy? Then you must visit the village of Jakriborg, situated half way between the cities of Lund & Malmö in Skåne. It only take 15-20 minutes drive from either city. Even though it is not a medieval town, but it is built as one, with the main architectural inspiration coming from the North German Hanseatic City of Lübeck. It is unlikely to find such architecture anywhere else in Sweden. The village is located in the Hjärup locality. The village itself is a small place, but it is a good stopover for 1 or 2 hours on the way to Lund or Malmö. They even have a sizable free parking for guests.
Here we are roaming around the village while admiring the beautiful, charming & colorful alleys with blooming flowers. We even forgot for a moment that we are still in Sweden.
This video is an inspiration for you to travel to Skåne region in Sweden, with amazingly beautiful cities such as Lund & Malmö. One of the highlights of the visit to Skåne region is to go on day trips outside the cities of Lund & Malmö and enjoy amazing sandy coastlines, forests, beautiful Castles & estates dotted all over.

Våren börjar alltmer göra sig påmind i Skåne. I mitten av mars gjorde jag en dagsvandring i skogen norr om Fjällfotasjön, som ligger mellan Holmeja, Svedala och Sturups flygplats i Skåne. Genom delar av skogen går bland annat Skåneleden etapp 17.

Spring is making steady progress in Skåne. In mid-March I did a day hike in the woods north of Fjällfotasjön, located between Holmeja, Svedala and Sturup airport in southern Sweden. Through this forest you can hike along Skåneleden stage 17th.
