Surat Thani Night Market - Talat San Chao - Surat Thani Thailand 2022
Surat Thani Night Market takes place every evening between around 5:00 to 9:00. This nightly event is very popular with the locals. If you are in Surat Thani for the night or waiting for the Night Boat to depart go along to look and eat some really interesting and authentic Thai food at very cheap prices.
Markets in Thailand traditionally are focal points of local community life and entertainment, and this is very much the case with Surat Thani Night Market. Its fun and a good opportunity to see the ‘real’ Thailand. It is also an opportunity to eat authentic Southern Thai food which you will not generally find in restaurants. There is also a range of foods which are foreign influenced and less spicy such as salads, sushi and fried chicken.
Surat Thani Night Market stretches along a pedestrianised stretch of road about 200 meters. The stalls are crammed in side by side along both sides of the road giving people a choice of around 150 different food stalls.
The night market is a great place to go. Since it’s in the evening you are out of the day time heat. You can also relax with some cool drinks to enjoy the evening.

KRABI, THAILAND (2023) | 10 BEST Things To Do In Krabi (Ao Nang & Around)
Krabi is located on southern Thailand’s west coast. Krabi is home to impressive limestone cliffs, dense mangrove forests, white sand beaches, and more than 100 offshore islands.

10. Enjoy the Ao Nang beaches & sunset
Ao Nang Beach is a great place to admire the Andaman sea, take a dip, and watch the sunset.
9. Explore the food & nightlife at Ao Nang
The Soi RCA Entertainment area is the place to go if you’re looking for a late night party.
8. Go For an Island-Hopping Tour
We did a day trip by longtail boat, covering 4 islands. There were multiple stops for swimming and snorkeling and a stop at Railay Beach.

7. Hike the Wat Tham Sua
Sitting right outside of Krabi Town, the Tiger Cave Temple is certainly worth a visit. Most visitors come to climb the 1,260 steps to the top of the hill.
6. Explore Thung Teao Forest Natural Park
There is a short boardwalk trail that takes you to three different pools in the middle of the jungle: Crystal Pool, Emerald Pool, and the Blue Pool.
5. Dip into the Krabi Hot Springs
Cut into smooth rocks, the hot springs flow from deep rooted thermal springs that are located inside volcanic chambers.

Krabi Town is the capital of Krabi. And like many other big towns in Thailand, there is a local night market here. Every Friday to Sunday from 4 to 10 PM the market is set up next to the Chao Fah Pier.

Koh Phi Phi are undoubtedly Krabi’s most popular islands to visit. From Ao Nang, you can join a full-day speedboat tour to the islands, which are encircled with sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and spectacular natural scenery.

Khao Sok National Park is located in the south of Thailand. Perfectly situated between some of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, it’s a highlight you can’t miss. The beautiful Cheow Larn Lake is the heartbeat of the park, surrounded by a lush rainforest, vast limestone mountains, unique caves, and an abundance of flora and fauna. People typically see Surat Thani as a passing point to somewhere exciting like Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan. However, there are many under appreciated and a lot of unseen beauty that deserves attention in this city. Hopefully, this clip will encourage you try out the fun activities that Surat Thani has to offer and understand that Surat Thani is actually, where the fun begins.
In this adventure fIlled episode, our activity list includes:
- A Hike up Khao Sok National Park and cooking with Bamboos in the Jungle
- Hike up to the top of the floating pagoda, Khao Na Nai Luang Dharma Park
- Kayaking in the Pa Ton Nam Ban Nam Rad spring water lake

Today is our last day in Surat Thani. We take a walk along the waterfront and sort transport to Phuket. Surat Thani has been a really pleasant town and we are glad to have had the extra day here.

In this video my family and I take you on a street food tour at a traditional Thai market, Pra Cha Rat Traditional Floating Market in Surat Thani, Thailand and taste test a lot of the food there. There's loads of old style Thai street food at this market that you will be lucky to see at other markets, it's a great market for foodies!

Thai Street Food is delicious and there is so much variety of street food in Thailand ... it’s a must to try if you’re on holidays in Thailand. This video was filmed at the Pra Cha Rat Traditional Floating Market, Surat Thani, Thailand. The market is a very local market and you will find everything there, from fresh food (meat, seafood, fruit & vegetables), to street food, much of it you won’t find in other places; souvenirs, clothes and all other types of local products. The market is also home to a number of cafes and Thai restaurants.
If you are in Surat Thani, this floating market is definitely worth a visit! Make sure you don’t miss the boat tour too!
