10 Best place to visit in Sumpong Philippines

x

Brgy. Sumpong to Brgy.Dalwangan

Sumpong is an urban barangay of the City of Malaybalay in the Province of Bukidnon, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, Sumpong has a population of 9,302 people[4]. It is bounded to the north by Kibalabag, to the east by Can-ayan, to the south by the Poblacion District, and to the west by Kalasungay.
Kalasungay (Spanish: Calasungay) is an urban barangay in the North Highway District of Malaybalay, Bukidnon, along the Sawaga River. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 8,272 people.
Kalasungay is located 3 km west of the city proper. It is bounded to the north by the Tugisan and Tagoloan rivers, separating it from Impalutao and Manalog, respectively. It is bounded to the east by Sumpong and Impalambong; to the south by Casisang and Imbayao; to the southwest by Capitan Angel; and to the west by Dalwangan and Patpat by the Sawaga River and Kabakahan Creek, respectively. It is subdivided into eight purok. The Sawaga River bisects Kalasungay into a hilly and forested northern half and a gently rising southern half which touches the foothills of the Kitanglad Mountain Range. The forests of northern Kalasungay is a project of the Bukidnon Forests, Incorporated in a consortium with the New Zealand government. The southern half is classified as agricultural land.
Patpat is the de facto name for barangay Lapu-Lapu of Malaybalay City, Philippines. As of the 2015 census, it has a population of 3,833 people.

Patpat is located in the North Highway District and is bounded to the north by Impalutao of the Municipality of Impasug-ong, to the east and south by Kalasungay, to and to the west by Dalwangan. It is characterized by undulating plains in the south and a mountainous terrain in the north, dotted with waterfalls such as the Tugisan and Migue falls. The bulk of Patpat's territory is grassland and is classified as agricultural land[3]. According to the 2012-2022 Comprehensive Land Use Plan of the city government, Patpat is reclassified into an agri-industrial cluster to host poultry and hog farms[4]. There is one public elementary school; secondary education is provided by schools in neighboring Kalasungay and Dalwangan, with some students even enrolling in the schools in Poblacion[.
The barangay was renamed into Lapu-Lapu in 1967 by virtue of Republic Act No. 5087[6] but the name Patpat is still commonly used and the renaming is unknown to most of the residents. Therefore, in all government documents, the village is designated as Patpat with the de jure name Lapu-Lapu in parentheses.

Dalwangan (Binukid: Báriyu Daluwangan) is a barangay west of Malaybalay City situated on the foothills of the Kitanglad Range, 12 kilometers west of the city proper. It is bounded to the north by Impalutao of the municipality of Impasugong, to the east by Patpat and Kalasungay, to the south by Capitan Angel and the Mount Kitanglad Range Natural Park, and to the west by Kibenton of Impasugong. According to the 2015 census, Dalwangan has a population of 7,004 people.
Dalwangan is one of the largest barangay of Malaybalay with an area of 68.25 square kilometres (26.35 square miles), 54.04% of which is classified alienable and disposable and the rest as forestland.[4]. The barangay is located along the Sayre Highway and is one of the urbanizing areas of the city[5]. Most of its boundary with Impasug-ong is formed by the Ipoon Creek, starting from its headwaters at Mt. Kitanglad northwestward until it reaches the Dila River. Following the Dila River upstream forms the northern boundary of Dalwangan with Impalutao and Kibuwa. A small creek marks the boundary with Patpat to the east; the Sawaga River forms the rest of its eastern boundary with Kalasungay. To the south the Kalatugunan Creek marks the boundary between Dalwangan and Capitan Angel.

Dalwangan is characterized with a flat and rolling terrain to the north and east, and gently sloping to mountainous to the south and west intermittently incised with deep gorges formed by the Sawaga, Ipoon, and Lalawan Rivers. Wide valleys can be found in the southern part of Dalwangan. The soil is characterized as clay loam.

MUSPO Ultra Experience Valencia Bukidnon | Trail Running

MUSPO Ultra Experience Valencia Bukidnon

First Filipino points race in the 2022 Asia Trail Master Championship series, and it’s a newcomer as well: MUSPO Ultra in Bukidnon, Mindanao. On the programme of the event’s 3rd edition - the first since covid - are several race categories but ATM contenders and Grandmaster Quest seekers will focus on the 100 kilometres race that starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday. That essentially means it’s going to be predominantly a night race for most runners. Among the favourites we wind Arnie Macaneras and Sherlyn Fugaban in the women’s.

Bukidnon is the region between Cagayan de Oro and Davao on the large southern island of the Philippines. The area around Valencia City may not be as mountainous as the others, but the steep gradients of the hills and treacherous ground conditions (could be really muddy if there’s some heavy rain) will make this 100k challenging. Among the highlights are the touristic attractions Lake Apo and Musuan Peak, along with Sagumata Falls.
Arnie Macaneras was the coming man in southern Philippines before covid-19 halted everything. Macaneras was a surprise 2nd behind Kitamura but before John Ellis in the 2019 The Punisher race, and backed that up with another 2nd place at UTKC in Thailand - ahead of Kitamura - in February 2020. On paper, he will thus be the man to beat in Valencia this weekend, but how much has the corona crisis affected his performance level?

We already know that Larry Apolinario from Antique is back at his best, courtesy of his great race victory in the ATM Candidate Sierra Madre Trail Ultra at the end of May. Apolinario could be Macaneras’ main challenger. Also on the start list is former Mt Apo race winner Ronie Torlao. Slightly older than the other two, but reportedly still going fast - also on less technical terrain. Other podium hopefuls will be Grandmaster 2 stars Aleksis Capili, Joeffery Camara, Al Telias and Hover Luis. And who knows we get suprised by a new face.

In the women’s we can expect a battle between three well-known ATM protagonists. Sherlyn Fugaban is the new lady on the block, having won both ATM Candidate Races in the Rizal this spring. Less experienced over 100k, Fugaban will need to watch out for the very experienced Cecile Wael and the 2018 ATM Championship runner-up Aggy Sabanal. The latter returned to trail action earlier in the year after giving birth. Fresh Grandmaster Rhea Baltac is also on the start list, along with Janet Halcon and Ann Jilian Pulanco .
