Welcome to the Koster Islands and A&A Travelling. We went sailing with our friend Roger the captain to the Koster Islands( Swedish: Kosteröarna) located 10 kms west of Strömstad, Sweden. The islands are part of an archipelago surrounding the two largest islands, North Koster and South Koster. North Koster has an area of 4 square kms and South Koster 8 square kms.
The South and North Koster have a permanent population of around 340. Here you find a school, sports hall, shops, church and galeries. Fishing and farming are two important activities, and already during the 1600s Koster exported lobster to Holland. There is a Hotel called Ekenäs and a campsite in North Koster.
Between the North and South Koster there is an electrically driven ferry that constantly operates between the two islands.
This paradise is a popular tourist destination, attracting as many as 90,000 tourists each year. The islands are renowned for being one of Sweden`s sunniest places with good bathing opportunities.
During the sumer months there are a variety of events and activities, such as mackerel race, music festival and trips to seal colonies.
Connections to the mainland are very good, with sixteen ferry departures daily from Strömstad. The crossing takes 45 minutes.

The Koster Islands have Sweden's westernmost point and are located by the Norwegian border. We take the boat from Strömstad to discover the southern island percycle. The adventure then continues with a cable ferry to North Koster, where we taste Norway lobster, swim and visit the island's lighthouse. We end the day and Källviken's holiday camp.

@colorline in this video I made a tour of the color line hybrid from Norway(Sandefjord) to Sweden(Strömstad) and back. It has shops, places to eat (the food is very tasty), it has a small theater and playgrounds for children, you can go outside or if it is in bad weather you can enter a room called horizon where it is quiet and you can admire the scenery. Besides the spectacular scenery, the hours spent on the road passed quickly without getting bored. It was a beautiful experience that I am sure I will repeat again I recommend it.❤️
