Стар Дојран се наоѓа на три километри јужно од поголемата населба Нов Дојран, а оддалечен е и неколку километри од Егејска Македонија. Стар Дојран со Дојранското Езеро и прекрасната средоземна клима, има одлична местоположба.

Во V век п.н.е. долината на Празијас (сегашното Дојранско Езеро) ја населувале Пеонци. Тие живееле „на“ Езерото. Во дрвени колиби заградени со трска и поставени на скели кои се потпирале на долги дрвени колци. Со копното ги поврзувале единствено корабите со кои управувале многу вешто заради што најчесто и обидите на освојувачите (Персијците) биле безуспешни.

Due to the lake 15 types of fish, (of which famous are kostreš, plašica, carp, sheath-fish) and water grass (algi), the Dojran lake enters the list of world's rarities due to its special features. Dojran lake is the richest lake in fish in Europe. The ancient way of fishing with the assistance of birds (kormorans) and gratings practiced here is very interesting. A similar method of fishing exist only in distant China, and is carried out during the winter. Here on Dojran lake, the notorious Dojran fishermen still fish in a very special traditional way - by the help of birds, a special type of birds called Cormorants. Lake Dojran is also rich in vegetation. The algae that generate and emit iodine must be mentioned, as they make the water suitable for balneal therapy.

The Dojran lake is located on the border of North Macedonia and Greece. The northern border of the lake is the Belacitsa mountain range. The lake has an angular shape, the maximum depth is 10 m, the length from the south of the pipe is 8.9 km and the width is 7.1 km. This is the third largest lake in North Macedonia after the Ohrid and the Pecan lakes. The lake is protected by a waterfall and has a tectonic-volcanic output.

Dojran je grad na zapadnoj obali jezera Dojran u jugoistočnom delu Severne Makedonije. Danas je to zbirni naziv za dva sela na teritoriji srušenog grada: Nov Dojran (Novi Dojran, naseljen od kraja Prvog svetskog rata do Drugog svetskog rata) i Zvezdani Dojran (Stari Dojran), koji sadrži obe stare ruševine i nedavna izgradnja, posebno hotela, odmarališta i restorana. Dojran je udaljen 170 kilometara od Skoplja, 59 kilometara od Strumice i nekih 30 kilometara od Đevđelije. Najbliži aerodromi su Međunarodni aerodrom u Solunu i aerodrom u Skoplju. Stari grad Dojran bio je totalno srušen tokom Prvog svetskog rata, a moderna sela osnovana su posle Drugog svetskog
rata.

Саат кула (Стар Дојран)

Подигната во 1372 година - саат-кулата била изградена во времето на Евренос-бег. Саат кулата се наоѓа на ридот на Дојранско Езеро каде што некогаш се наоѓала горната Турска чаршија, во близина на амамот и чешмата. Единствено таа е градена во т.н опус клоазоне. Саат-кулата настрадала за време на Балканските војни.

Таа била висока околу 10 метри и со својата височина доминирала во околината. Часовникот сите граѓани ги известувал за времето, трговците и занаетчиите за отворање и затворање на дуќаните, рибарите за одење на мандрите.

Во 2021 година таа е реставрирана и реконструирана.
