Rotterdam Central Station 4K (Trains, Metro, Tram & Buses) | The Netherlands (English sub)
Rotterdam Centraal /Central Station is one of the busiest stations in the Netherlands. Construction of this was started in 2004 and opened in March 2014. This has been built by considering all public transportation modes including trains, metro, trams and buses. This place has used by around 170,000 people per day in 2018.
This has been built according to a modern architectural design. This place has around 3,000 solar panels on the rooftop which generate the power for all the lights, escalators and lifts in the building. Also this place has a very large space for bicycle parking underneath the building. There we can park around 5,000 bicycles at once.

De eerste aflevering van een serie over het creatief en innovatief gebruik van daken in steden. Rotterdam is voorloper op het gebied van het veranderen van grijze daken in nuttige, groene, creatieve daken waar het stadsleven prettiger, groener en duurzamer wordt.
Esther Wienese neemt ons op een bezoek aan een heuse akker op het dak van een gebouw.: De Dak Akker.. er worden groenten en bloemen geteeld op een hoog dak in het centrum .. het terras van een heerlijke Bistro kijkt uit over de tuin. Als dit geen innovatie is hoe we de ruimte in een stad kunnen benutten?
Jaarlijks trekken wereldwijd miljoenen mensen naar de stad.
Steden worden daardoor steeds voller, viezer, warmer en minder groen.
De oplossing voor een gezonde en leefbare stad dichtbij: op het dak!
Op daken kun je wonen, werken, sporten, spelen, eten, drinken, groente verbouwen, energie opwekken en regenwater opvangen.
Rotterdam is koploper in het benutten van daken.
Rotterdam heeft de meeste platte daken van Nederland: 18,5 miljoen vierkante meter. Deze daken kunnen worden benut om de bevolkingsgroei, klimaatverandering en energietransitie op te vangen.
De daken zijn van de gemeente, particulieren, vve’s, woningcorporaties en bedrijven. Dat betekent dat alle dakeigenaren kunnen meebouwen van een gezonde, leefbare stad. Daken benutten voor is goed voor ieders persoonlijk leven, goed voor steden en goed voor onze planeet.

Cabinerit Tram Rotterdam CS - Bergweg - Woudestein | RET Lijn 7 Omleiding
Autumn, trams and cabview Rotterdam tram in the Netherlands. / Herfst, trams en speciale cabinerit RET Rotterdamse tram in Rotterdam. Speciaal traject op lijn 7. Tramrit met een Alstom Citadis tramstel van het OV-bedrijf RET, van het Rotterdam Centraal Station via Eudokiaplein, de Bergweg en Crooswijkseweg naar Woudestein bij Erasmus Universiteit.
Bijzondere route via het traject van lijn 4.
In 2023 zijn er langdurige omleidingen. Tramlijn 7 en 8 rijden vanaf de Meent via Kipstraat en Oostplein.
Petitie om tramlijnen niet in te korten:
Op deze dag filmde ik diverse video's en veel trajectvideo's door Rotterdam, op lijn 4 (gepland meer dan één jaar ingekort tot Heemraadsplein), lijn 7 (omleiding door Noord), lijn 18 (ingekort en opgesplitst, lijn 8 rijdt Kleiweg - Oostplein), lijn 21 (ingekort met omleiding naar Heemraadsplein), lijn 23 (ingekort tot CS). Een hoop lijnen waren ingekort en/of rijden om.
Lijn 24 reed elke tien minuten tussen Vlaardingen Holy en Schiedam Centrum. Elke 10 i.p.v. 20 min. tussen Holy en Bachplein, omdat de laatste twee haltes van lijn 21 in Schiedam maandenlang waren afgesloten vanwege werkzaamheden.
Een extra speciale rit op deze dag, was deze op lijn 4. Ik filmde één opname van Heemraadsplein naar Kleiweg. Vanwege een aanrijding in het noorden, reed de tram tijdelijk niet naar Molenlaan. Tram 4 sloeg linksaf bij station Noord. De dag hiervoor was er aanrijding bij de Schiekade, toen reed lijn 25 naar Diergaarde Blijdorp via CS achterzijde.

Transport Infrastructure in the Netherlands
Pedestrians, Cyclists, Trams, Cars...
A short time-lapse at the Erasmus bridge in Rotterdam, South-Holland.
This really shows off the quality of Dutch transport infrastructure in one short time frame. Once the bridge lowers to let a ship pass beneath, the priorities seen here are typical of that often seen in the Netherlands.
First the pedestrians and the cyclists move, with those on two wheels -- of course -- having a wide dedicated lane in both directions.
Secondly the trams are signalled to move across vehicular traffic and on to their segregated central lanes.
It seems to be quite a feat of engineering that the tram tracks, and particularly the overhead electrical cables, also raise with the bridge. I do wonder why they didn't utilise wire-free technology for this section as seen in historic city centres of France.
Lastly the lights go green for the vehicular traffic and all folk are back on the move.
For me this time-lapse shows off the transportation priorities of the Netherlands quite well.

Modern architecture in Rotterdam
More cool buildings in Rotterdam
Prachtige rondvlucht over Amsterdam, Scheveningen, Delft, Den Haag en Rotterdam in 1926 in kleur!
A beautiful flight (with the KLM) over the Dutch cities of Amsterdam, Scheveningen, Delft, The Hague and Rotterdam nearly a century ago in color (A.I. enhanced & colorized). This flight was made with the H-NACC aircraft that took-off from Schiphol and headed for Rotterdam Waalhaven airport to pick up passngers for a scenic flight. The aircraft, type Fokker F.VII, can also be seen in even more detail in my next film. In previous years (1924) it served also on the first extremely long distance route between The Netherland and Batavia in the Dutch East Indies (nowadays Indonesia).
Rotterdam Waalhaven airport was opened only 6 years earlier on 26 July 1920. To a large extent this airport was destroyed during WWII in 1940 and never rebuilt. In stead Rotterdam opened airport Zestienhoven in 1956, currently known as Rotterdam The Hague Airport.
The source of this film, Beeld En Geluid, states 1927 as the date of this film. However, this must be incorrect because the H-NACC crashed in Belgium on 9 July 1926. Therefore it can be assumed that this scenic flight happened not long before that fatal crash.
Vliegtuig-enthousiasten zullen hun hart op kunnen halen aan deze film. Met name de zeer scherpe beelden van de beroemde H-NACC en ook van het stationsgebouw van Vliegveld Waalhaven zijn uniek!

Na een grote verbouwing van ongeveer 2 jaar is de Amstelveenlijn klaar en zal lijn 25 op het traject Station Zuid - Westwijk op 13 december geopend worden. Tegelijkertijd gaat voor het eerst de nieuwe 15G tram in dienst van het type Urbos 100, soortgelijk aan die in Utrecht van de Spaanse fabrikant CAF. Sinds 9 december mochten reizigers al met de tram meerijden met de testritten.
Nieuw aan de lijn zijn de verdiepte haltes Kronenburg, Zonnestein en Sportlaan en het feit dat alle haltes zijn vernieuwd de perrons zijn verlaagd.
De volgende haltes zijn opgeheven:
De Boelelaan/VU, Amstelveen Centrum, Marne, Gondel en Spinnerij. In de toekomst zal lijn 25 met nog 3 nieuwe haltes worden doorgetrokken naar Uithoorn en bij Station Zuid een nieuwe halte krijgen aan het Gustav Mahlerplein
After 2 years of construction works on the Amstelveen line they are finally done and line 25 between Station Zuid(South) and Westwijk will be opened on december 13th. At the same time the brand new 15G trams will enter service for the first time from the Urbos 100 series, the same as the trams in Utrecht made by the Spanish manufacturer CAF. Since december 9th passengers are allowed to travel with the new line 25 during the last test runs.
New about this line are the deepened tram stops Kronenburg, Zonnestein and Sportlaan, and also that all the stops are renewed and the platforms are lowered in height.
The following stops are removed:
De Boelelaan/VU, Amstelveen Centrum, Marne, Gondel en Spinnerij. In the future line 25 will be extented with 3 new stops to Uithoorn and a new stop at Station Zuid near Gustav Mahlerplein.
