Mohács, Hungary

Mohács, town and river port, located in southern Hungary, is a common stop on Danube River cruises. In the past, the small town of Mohács twice was the place for decisive events in Hungarian and European history. Two massive and historically crucial battles were fought near the small town of Mohács. The Ottomans won the first in 1526 and swept north, the Habsburgs the second in 1687, driving the Ottomans out of East-Central Europe. The Historical Memorial Park just outside of town has a comprehensive collection of clothing, tools, and arms that show the cultural differences between the enemies. The town has a number of fascinating churches: the 18th-century Baroque Protestant church, the Roman Catholic church, the Serbian Greek Orthodox church and the Avas church. The central square is dominated by the Battlefield Memorial Church, the so-called Votive Church. On one side of the central square is the Town Hall, an intriguing Moorish style building, with cream and pink stonework and green domes. In front of the town hall and the church, there is a statue embodying what the town believes in. The Statue of the Three Nationalities is a good example how to present that all people are the same, no matter of our nationalities or religion. Today, Mohács is well known for its Busó Carnival, a wide range of tourist attraction and its vicinity to the nearby city of Pécs. Most important is the vicinity of the Duna (Danube)-Dráva National Park and its wide range of attractions. Mohás, since some years, has become a brand new destination for eco tourism activities and the outstanding quality of food and drinks make it a perfect destination for relaxed outdoor holidays.

Do Hungarian People REALLY Eat This? ULTIMATE Hungary Street Food! ????????

Solo in Hungary in a town of Veszprém which is is one of the most oldest urban areas in Hungary. It lies approximately 15 km north of the Lake Balaton. In this video I started the morning looking for a place where to get warm food, possibly coffee or tea, pastry or a traditional Hungarian breakfast. I visited a Hungarian bakery shop first which I saw next to a bus station but it was closed, so I walked towards the market. While I was walking through to go and find elsewhere to get food I take a tour to see what they have on this market. As I walked further into the market I smelt some really nice food in the air but at the time I was not sure where it was coming from. I asked a local market seller where could I buy food and he pointed me to a place where I could get Lángos and coffee. I then ordered my warm food to find out what does traditional Hungarian food really taste like. I ordered Lángos, which is a typical Hungarian street food. It is a deep fried flatbread, but in the past it was made of the last bits of the bread-dough and baked at the front of the brick or clay oven, to be served hot as the breakfast of the bread-baking day. After I had my breakfast I decided to tour the indoor market to see what’s inside. I discovered there was fruits and vegetables and also a butchers selling meat, cheese, salami, sausages or ham. I also saw a indoor bakery. I came across seller with a traditional Hungarian drink “kefir” I decided to try it which I realised it has its similarities with a traditional Slovak drink called Žinčica, which is a drink made of sheep milk whey similar to kefir consumed mostly in Slovakia and Poland. Do Hungarian people eat this often and what are your thoughts if you have tried it?

Балатон, или, как его еще называют, венгерское море, славится своими курортами, необыкновенными пейзажами и водой цвета реального моря.

О Балатоне складывались целые легенды. Согласно одной из них, внутри вод озера стоит церковь, а там сидит девица и льет слезы. Говорят, пока она плачет, в Балатоне всегда будет вода. Вторая легенда гласит, что однажды пахарь отодвинул камень, мешавший ему работать, и из камня забил источник, который заполнил всю долину и превратил ее в озеро. Вода легендарного озера по оттенку напоминает морскую, а за счет соседства гор образовался мягкий микроклимат, похожий на средиземноморский.
