The Salt Mine at Soledar, Ukraine

The Salt Mine at Soledar, Ukraine
Soledar is a city in Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine. The name of the town stands for 'gift of salt' both in Russian and Ukrainian. The town was named Karlo-Libknekhtivsk after Karl Liebknecht, the German socialist, when it was created in 1965 during Soviet times. It was renamed Soledar in 1991 after the Ukraine became independent. This small is situated on the place of shallow bay of ancient Permian sea which existed there 250 millions years ago. After the sea dried out, here appeared one of the purest salt deposit in the world and the biggest one in Europe. In spite of more than 100 years of underground working, resulted in more than 125 miles of mines, these salt field resources are enough for 2 thousand years more. While tourists are attracted not by functioning mines, but exhaust one which is added to the UNESCO list of world culture heritage. Miners who worked in it turned the empty mines into magnificent temples by creating sculptures, pictures, chapels and grottos from salt blocks. Everything here is made of salt: walls, ceiling, floor, figures and trees.
The route along the salty galleries of this underground city at a depth of 300 meters is about 700 meters long and ends with a huge hall of 40 meters height. The acoustics in the hall is so amazing that sometimes it becomes the concert hall for symphonic orchestra. Kurt Schmidt, Austrian composer and director says that there are only 2 or 3 theaters in the world that can compete the acoustics of Soledar's salt mines: I am impressed! The notes flew up to the arch of the grotto, and then slowly as a cloud fell down. Incredible!.
Near the tourist route there is a speleo-sanitarium Salty Symphony where the following diseases are successfully cured: bronchial asthma, asthmatoid bronchitis, obstructive bronchitis, chronic pneumonia, rhinoallergosis, atopic dermatitis, some forms of psoriasis, weak immunity, thyroid diseases. Patients' sense of well-being is influenced by the following factors: atmospheric pressure 772 mm Hg (millimeters mercury column), air humidity 60%, temperature 14-16 °?, as well as air itself is filled with salt pieces with size of 1-5 micron and concentration of 15 mg in 1 cu m. The treatment in the microclimate of salt mine is one of the most effective because 70-85% adults and 85-95% children recover there according to statistics.
Usually the tour goes on for about 4 hours. During this time tourists can visit underground football field, church, labyrinths, concert hall, gallery, see the original figures made of salt, take a rest at underground bar, watch a movie about speleo-sanitarium, take pictures and video, play billiards, table tennis, chess, and simply have a rest and breathe the unique air of salt mine. Along the route medical staff and guide will do some training in medical respiratory gymnastics and tell interesting stories about the salt mine.
Soledar is a town which name stands for gift of salt. We visited its major sight: the underground galleries and chambers of salt mines.
The people there is a perception that the salt is harmful to the body in large quantities. This applies to its consumption as food. But a visit to the seabed, when there is not a single object of a different material than salt, very useful, especially for the imagination. A breath of air saturated micro-particles of salt - all powerful healing effect.
Sculptures created not Mother Nature, and the master with golden hands. Sinking to a depth of nearly 300 meters, you get the opportunity to walk along the bottom of the oceans, see the real football field with shallow salt crumbs instead of green grass , with a stunning concert hall acoustics.
There is a church in one of the worked out salt galleries of the city. In December 2003, the chamber 41 bis broke a record listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the first underground Hopper ballooning. In October 2004 there was a concert of Donbass Symphony Orchestra Salt Symphony under the direction of Austrian conductor Kurt Schmid with a participation of Victoria Lukyanets, soloist of the Vienna State Opera.

Ukraine (Ukrainian: Україна, romanized: Ukrayina, pronounced [ʊkrɐˈjinɐ] (About this soundlisten)) is a country in Eastern Europe.[8] It is bordered by Russia to the north-east; Belarus to the north; Poland, Slovakia and Hungary to the west; and Romania, Moldova, and the Black Sea to the south. Ukraine is currently in a territorial dispute with Russia over the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014.[9] Including the Crimean Peninsula, Ukraine has an area of 603,628 km2 (233,062 sq mi),[10] making it the second-largest country in Europe after Russia, and the 46th-largest country in the world. Excluding Crimea, Ukraine has a population of about 42 million,[3] making it the eighth or ninth-most populous country in Europe, and the 32nd-most populous country in the world. Its capital and largest city is Kiev. Ukrainian is the official language and its alphabet is Cyrillic. The dominant religion in the country is Eastern Orthodoxy.

The territory of modern Ukraine has been inhabited since 32,000 BC. During the Middle Ages, the area was a key centre of East Slavic culture, with the powerful state of Kievan Rus' forming the basis of Ukrainian identity. Following its fragmentation in the 13th century, the territory was contested, ruled and divided by a variety of powers, including the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire and Russia. A Cossack republic emerged and prospered during the 17th and 18th centuries, but its territory was eventually split between Poland and the Russian Empire. After World War II the Western part of Ukraine merged into the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, and the whole country became a part of the Soviet Union as a single state entity. In 1991, Ukraine gained its independence from the Soviet Union in the aftermath of its dissolution at the end of the Cold War. Before its independence, Ukraine was typically referred to in English as The Ukraine, but most sources have since moved to drop the from the name of Ukraine in all uses.[11]

Following its independence, Ukraine declared itself a neutral state;[12] it formed a limited military partnership with Russia and other CIS countries while also establishing a partnership with NATO in 1994. In 2013, after the government of President Viktor Yanukovych had decided to suspend the Ukraine-European Union Association Agreement and seek closer economic ties with Russia, a several-months-long wave of demonstrations and protests known as the Euromaidan began, which later escalated into the 2014 Ukrainian revolution that led to the overthrow of Yanukovych and the establishment of a new government. These events formed the background for the annexation of Crimea by Russia in March 2014, and the War in Donbass in April 2014. On 1 January 2016, Ukraine applied the economic component of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the European Union.[13]

Ukraine is a developing country and ranks 88th on the Human Development Index. As of 2018, Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe alongside Moldova in terms of GDP per capita. At US$40, it has the lowest median wealth per adult in the world,[note 1][14] and suffers from a very high poverty rate as well as severe corruption.[15] However, because of its extensive fertile farmlands, Ukraine is one of the world's largest grain exporters.[16][17] It also maintains the second-largest military in Europe after that of Russia. Ukraine is a unitary republic under a semi-presidential system with separate powers: legislative, executive and judicial branches. The country is a member of the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the GUAM organization, and one of the founding states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Center Soledar With Wagner PMC (extract) Russia Ukraine War

Patrick Lancaster
March9th2023
The situation in Soledar is Grave. I went into the center of Soledar with the Russia Private Military Company WagnerThe city is totally destroyed. No civilians remain. I saw only Wagner soldiers in the city. All civilians that did remain were helped to evacuate by the Wagner group. Apartment courtyards were turned into DIY graveyards. Ukraine still fires on the city almost non stop. My full video report coming VERY SOON.

My name is Patrick Lancaster and I think you deserve more then what the Western main stream media is willing to show you. I think you need to see information for both sides of the contact line.
Why does the Western mainstream media think the world does not deserve to see reports from both sides of the Ukraine War frontline? Why do they only show you(almost all the time) things that are positive for Ukraine? Why when any English Speaking journalists try and show things in Russian-controlled territory they are attacked and attempted to be smeared by the Western MSM? Think about it!!
I believe You deserve MORE and I will make sure you continue to get it here on this channel!!

We can not cover every story from every place but we can do our best & of course, always bring you reports with full Eng & Rus translations.

Prosperous Ukraine? Judge for yourself. The salt mine, like the entire economy in decline.
Speleotherapy is a method of treatment using the atmosphere of salt caves. In Ukraine there is only one center of speleotherapy - the village of Solotvyno, where people who suffer from asthma, tuberculosis and allergies go for good health.
There is a legend that Kunigunda, the daughter of King Beyla IV, threw her ring into one of Solotvin's mines. And after a while this ring was found in the salt mines near Krakow. By that time, Kunigunda had already become a queen and recognized her decoration with some surprise.
Salt is the main Solotvynian treasure. The first underground allergological department was opened here in 1968. The base for the separation was chosen by mine No. 8 - and the results exceeded all expectations! Therefore, the mine No. 9 was reincarnated, and the next underground department began work in 1976. The depth of this mine is 300 meters, the medical building is a long gallery, in the walls of which were cut through niches - chambers. To maintain the optimal microclimate, special ventilation was organized. It was necessary to register for treatment in advance by phone. Patients went to the lower chambers on the elevator, the full treatment cycle lasted 24 days, but needless to say, permanent residence under the ground was not required.
The air in the mines is incredibly clean - it contains a large number of useful trace elements. Minor particles of salt contribute to the healing of skin and mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, allergens and other harmful factors do not penetrate into the depth of the premises. Unfortunately, unique underground buildings do not work at the moment, but they can be treated with brine and mud of the Solotvinsk lakes.
The local allergological hospital was forced to almost completely close the underground buildings because of the emergency condition of the mines. The mines No. 8 and No. 9 of the Solotvinsk salt mine are no longer suitable for the treatment of numerous patients. The water is washing away huge workings under the village, and the ground is falling through - descents to great depths have become dangerous for life. Although fans of extreme only this and waited for - thrill seekers here quickly replaced the relaxed holidaymakers. Extremes are armed with special equipment and sent to study the secrets of the Solotvin caves.
What is special about salt mines in the climate?
The mines are dominated by a constant temperature and atmospheric pressure. In the underground galleries, dry, saturated with rock salt particles, air. And the main factor: at the depth of completely no harmful impurities and allergens. Remission after a course of treatment with speleotherapy in Solotvino lasts up to six months! To maintain good health, visitors to the resort had to undergo a course of treatment twice a year. Moreover, it has practically no side effects and is acceptable for patients of all ages, including children. Solotvino did not use the method of forced spraying of salt dust - chemical elements are evaporated naturally, it is much more useful than artificial salt rooms. And the most popular souvenir from Solotvino is a salt lamp.

It's been almost a year since Russia invaded Ukraine, and a war museum has already opened in Kyiv to show items collected from the battlefield and from people's destroyed homes. Today we go to VDNG, an ornate Soviet-era complex with a culture center & concert hall, that is home to the winter holiday festivities including second Christmas. Today also happens to be Orthodox Christmas, January 7th, 2023, which was previously celebrated by Ukrainians during soviet times and before the Russian invasion. Liberated Ukrainians Describe Occupation in Lyman ????????

ЛИМАН, ДОНЕЦЬК (УКРАЇНА) - On November 1, I was asked to document an evacuation mission in Lyman, a town in northern Donetsk that was formally annexed by Russia on September 30. The mission was funded and organized by Ukraine TrustChain, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that coordinates humanitarian missions in the active war zone. On arriving in the city, I had a few spare minutes to collect statements from residents gathered outside the one functioning food distribution point in town.

After seven months of occupation, Lyman returned to Ukrainian control on October 1. By the time we arrived, the high of liberation had worn off. Most residents were guarded, declining to comment. This video consists of the few who agreed to.

Before the full-scale invasion, Lyman was home to 20,000 Ukrainians. On November 1, only a few thousand remained. At this stage, Russian positions were on the outskirts of neighbouring Zarichne, about 10 km east of Lyman, with the nearest Russian stronghold in Kreminna, just further east. All public facilities in Lyman were destroyed, damaged, or otherwise inoperable, and all civil authorities had long since abandoned the area. There was not a single hospital or medical center. Electricity, gas, and water were long gone.

Vilkha M is a new multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) developed by the State Kyiv Design Bureau “Luch” in collaboration with other public and private Ukrainian defence companies.

The MLRS can destroy infantry, armoured, and soft-skinned targets in concentration areas of artillery batteries, command posts, and ammunition depots. It is ten times more accurate than the ageing MLRS platforms in service with the Ukrainian Army.

The Ukrainian army continues to fight for control of the Donbas region

Ukrainian soldiers carry out military activities in Donetsk, Ukraine as they fight against Russia for control of the region.

Footage from Donetsk, Ukraine, on Friday, January 13, shows Ukrainian soldiers and military vehicles as the battle for control of the Donbas region continues.

Donetsk and Luhansk together constitute the Russian-speaking region of Donbas, which remains the focus of Moscow's ongoing special military operations in Ukraine.

Just before launching its war in late February, Moscow recognized the two territories as independent people's republics.

Axmat special forces (Apty Alaudinov) report.

Today, dear BROTHER, Hero of Russia, commander of the Akhmat special forces Apty Alaudinov, got in touch not only with a report on the progress of the offensive, but also with an appeal to the Ukrainian people.

But first things first. Our fighters, together with the allied forces, continue the offensive along the line of Soledar, Yakovlevka, Seversk. A large number of manpower and equipment of the enemy was destroyed.

At the same time, according to Apta Alaudinov, he, as a person who is at the epicenter of events, is surprised by the policy of the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He notes that in the hope of recapturing the positions captured by our soldiers, the Ukrainian command sends detachments of military personnel almost to commit suicide.

Seeing the situation on the spot, Apty says that only cruel, but at the same time hopelessly stupid idiots can throw their fighters into an open slaughter so cruelly, senselessly and blindly.

This picture with the participation of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recklessly attacking our positions has been repeated for 4 days several times. No matter how harsh it sounds, they are dying like flies, stupidly, at random and in vain. And with absolutely no advantage.

Their commanders have no strategy or tactics. It takes brains. As a result, someone's sons are killed and maimed literally in massive heaps. And even the well-worn military general Apty Alaudinov honestly admits that from such an absurd sacrifice he involuntarily regrets the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he feels sorry for them.

Even being with them on opposite sides of the barricades, he regrets that the Ukrainian people are losing so many men. This, if this continues, will lead to irreversible consequences for Ukrainians.

We treat this people with respect, but it is bitter to see how, not understanding the essence of what is happening, some part of Ukrainians allows themselves to be used by the West. And Apta is right when he calls the mediocre actions of Zelensky and the entire command of their General Staff a humanitarian catastrophe for the demography of Ukraine. Better not to say. And there is.

Why Putin Says Russia's Army Will Not Survive Winter

Why Will Russia's Army Not Survive The Winter? Due to a lack of manpower and the continued heavy losses of troops the Russian armed forces once again needs a new supply of soldiers to keep the war effort alive and this is something Putin is not willing to do. Instead he is going to try and wait the winter months out and enter a protracted war.
