The city of Bergen is located along the southwestern coast of Norway. Surrounded by mountains and fjords, it’s a haven for nature and outdoor enthusiasts. But as a UNESCO World Heritage City, Bergen also combines history, culture, and an interesting urban life. This charming city might have a small-town feel, but it has tons of entertaining activities to offer. In this video, we break down our 6 favorite things to do in and around Bergen.

6. Try the local food
Norwegian culture is highly influenced by fishing and this is also visible in their cuisine. Visit Bergen’s fish market at the waterfront and you’ll see merchants selling their fresh catch of the day as they have for centuries. Other dishes Norwegians are proud of is “boller” (sweet buns) and “Pølse” (Norwegian hot dogs).
5. Visit a museum on a rainy day
Bergen has many interesting museums that you can visit, such as the Norway Fisheries Museum, the Lepra museum, and the Bergen University Museum of Natural History.

4. Day hike to highest peak in Bergen municipality
Sitting between various mountains, Bergen naturally has plenty of great hiking terrain. At 987 meters tall, Gullfjellet is the highest peak in Bergen municipality and a classic for local hikers. Located a bit outside the city, this trail feels truly remote and is a great escape. The trail starts at Osavatnet and runs past a cabin (Redningshytten) on the way to the summit. To get to the trailhead, it’s best to rent a car or combine public transportation with a taxi ride.
3. Bryggen & the Hanseatic Museum
Bryggen is one of Bergen's most iconic and popular attractions. With its vibrant atmosphere, you will find plenty of things to do. You can stroll through the narrow, crooked alleyways, grab a local beer at one of the many cafés, and learn about its historic importance at the Hanseatic Museum. A free guided tour is included when visiting the museum, during which you get to know more about the Hanseatic merchants and their daily life at Bryggen.

2. Hike one of the 7 peaks
Bergen is surrounded by seven peaks, and you can hike them all! The most popular ones are Mount Fløyen and Mount Ulriken, which are easily accessible by foot or bus from the city center. Both are short but steep hikes of a few kilometers each, offering spectacular views of the city, the fjord, and the ocean from the top. There is a cable car to Ulriken and a railway to Fløyen if you don't want to hike.

Norway is known for its fjords, and so is Bergen. If this is your first time in Norway, make sure to go on a day tour of the fjords. Bergen offers a wide variety of guided tours, with Mostraumen being the most popular and accessible one. During a 3 hour cruise, you will see the varied western Norway fjord landscapes, consisting of steep cliffs and waterfalls. You eventually reach the Mostraumen Strait and the tiny village of Mo!

Geirangerfjord, the most beautiful Place in Norway
Geiranger is a small Village in west of Norway, it is located at the end of the Geiranger Fjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the most beautiful Fjord in Norway.
Surrounded by mountain and Waterfalls, the view is out of this world, best to enjoy during the summer time and when the weather is good.
You will also see the famous Seven Sisters Waterfall alongside the Fjord, and it is breathtaking.

Norway - Nature Love Sogndal
Post our journey from Oslo to Flam, we took bus to reach the beautiful town of Sogndal.
The place where we stayed 3 nights provided something very amazing and brilliant view from the room we stayed. It was a kings view of the Sognefjord right in our footsteps on the room we stayed. We could not stop admiring the beauty of Fjord every moment as we looked at it through window.
We visited Ornes from Sogndal which swept us away in the beauty of the stave church.The beautiful roads along the mountains with apple farms on the either side was a beauty which was just spectacular.
In simple words Ornes and Sogndal made us feel like we were in a different world where nature was really loved and protected by people.

Norway - Sogndalstrand
Sogndalstrand is a picturesque little town on the southwestern coast of Norway. It became an important trading port from the 1600s onwards but fell into decline from the last part of the 19th century.
Today the town is preserved as a national heritage and has been thoroughly restored. It is now a popular tourist destination on this coastline. Since 2003 it has been a member of the international Cittaslow Slow Cities movement.

Norway-Scenic Balestrand
We had headed from Sogndal to Balestrand for a full day tour of this beautiful village. We had taken the Norled Express boat for our jorney for round trip between Sogndal and Balestrand.
In Balestrand we had gone for the Nærøyfjord sightseeing and Balestrand sightseeing RIB tours from Balestrand Adventure. This Tour was just amazing and each of the tour is different in the ride journeys to the spectacular scenaries to be witnessed. A must try activity in Norway is take the RIB boat sightseeing from Balestrand Fjord Adventure.
We had explored the balestrand village and went to the St. Olaf Church.The Church is a calm and peaceful place, with so much divine in nature.
In short a superb village journey which we enjoyed a lot.
Sogndal Skisenter Norway ???????? - Spring 2022 - Snowboarding Tour
It was a great end-of-the-season, bluebird day snowboarding in the unique environment of Sogndal Norway. All of the lifts here are surface lifts. Many thanks to the wonderful man working in the rental shop. His hospitality made our day at the resort exceptional!

I am back with another travel vlog and this was our end os summer travel. This time we ditched beaches and headed to mountains for the summer and it was one of our best trips . We went to our first Scandinavian country to Norway and OMG! Norway is just beyond beautiful! We did the road trip in Norway and for us it was one of our best driving experiences. In this vlog, we are kickstarting our road trip from Bergen and then our next stop will be at Flam where we will take the most scenic train ride in the world. After the Flam train ride, we will head to take a ferry and cross the longest and deepest fjords in Norway and world's second largest fjord, The sognfjords that will lead to our last stop for the day at Sogndal. - First day: Arriving Stavanger @ noon (flight) – collect the rental car. Explore & Spend the night in Stavanger.
- Second day: Kjerag Hike
- Third day: Drive to Bergen throught the langfossen falls, explore and spend the night In Bergen
- Fourth day: Drive to Aurlandsfjord to experience the steep train ride between Flåm and Myrdal then continue to Sogndal along Sognefjord. Spend the night at a hotel in Sogndal area.
- Fifth day: Drive along the Fjærlands Road towards the Jostedal glacier, mainland Europe’s largest icecap. Then continue the journey along Lake Jølster and through Loen and Stryn to Hellesylt, where will take the ferry over the Geirangerfjord. Spend the night at a hotel in Geiranger area
-Sixth day: From Geiranger, drive up the steep and winding Ørnevegen, “The Eagle Road”, to Eidsdal, where you will take another scenic ferry ride to Linge. Then drive up Trollstigen, “The Troll Ladder”, and continue to Ålesund. visit the Atlantic Sea Park and enjoy stunning views from Fjellstua. Spend the night at a hotel in Ålesund.
- Seventh day: Drive to Vestnes and take the ferry to Molde. Then head to the fishing village of Bud and continue on the Atlantic Ocean Road to Kristiansund , catch the flight back (@ 7 pm) to oslo to spend the night there.
