Travel video about destination Bardejov in Slovakia.
Bardejov is located in the north east corner of today's Slovakia, close to the Polish border. This old town of cloth merchants was fortified during several construction phases that date back to 1352. Its mediaeval centre was designated as a World Cultural Heritage in the year 2000. Three Gothic buildings became the Town Hall, and several arcades adorn Gründl House. The large market place is popular for all manner of social events, from a weekly market to parades and numerous gatherings, church processions and festivals. The Old Town Hall in the middle of the square dates back to 1505 and is a gem of Late Renaissance design. It contains a richly ornamented bay window with a Hungarian coat of arms as well as Bardejov’s own coat of arms. In 1907 the historic Town Hall became a museum featuring numerous historical exhibits of the town, as well as its arts and crafts. Religious art, wooden altars, sculptures and panel paintings bring to life its mediaeval times. Bardejov is a sparkling gem of history, from its blossoming in the Middle Ages, to war, fire, plague and the Reformation. The old town has managed to survive it all and now shines out as a much-loved treasure of bygone days.

Hiking trip in forest near Kosice, Slovakia - gopro hero 7 black and Nikon Z6 cinematic
The city of Kosice, Slovakia is surrounded by wonderful forests all around which are full of hiking and cycling trails.
Yesterday we chose an easy one from Jahodna resort to Rakoczi water source, a trail is about 3km long and took 1-2 hours only.

No observation towers, no cell towers, even no transmission towers, no crosses at the tops of the mountains. And if you come in autumn, winter or early spring, almost no people! Relax, city slickers – roads are perfect, gas stations easy to reach, comfy accomodation easy to find, restaurants always at hand, and reliable signal everywhere. The locals are friendly and willing to help. And there are plenty of unique things to explore – 5th grade protected primeaval forest reserves, charming, refurbished, but still very authentic villages, World War I and II cemeteries, UNESCO-inscribed wooden articular churches, large mountain meadows (called „poloniny“) and unspoiled forests crossed with well-marked tourist trails. Chances you cross your paths with a bear or lynx or wolf or bison are very small but mere the knowing THEY´RE HERE adds the right dosage of excitement. So hurry up, before this planet is flooded completely with people and treasures like Poloniny disappear for good.

Slovakia - the most beautiful place BLACK VAH [ 4k resolution ]
This lovely community is arranged in a green valley of Cierny Vah river by the Ipolnica river mouth. The community had been united with a Kralova Lehota village in 1808. Nowadays this area is known for its huge water reservoir with the biggest water-plant in Slovakia.
Climbing in Slovakia - Sulov (English subtitles)
The first foreign location that we visited was in Slovakia. Climbing crags that we explored were Súľovské skaly (closest town - Sulov Hradna) and Slnecke skaly (closest town - Porubka) both just outside of the city of Zilina.
Súľovské skaly are situated around a beautiful valley and consist of hundreds of routes on a conglomerate rock. To access it, it's best to park by a restaurant/b&b Koliba pod skalami and take a 15 min walk up a hill to get to closest rocks.
Slnecke skaly are limestone formations that stretch along a road between Porubka and Rejecke Teplice. The best way to access them is to visit a camping site surprisingly called Kemping Slnecke Skaly.
