Leiden is a city and municipality in the province of South Holland, Netherlands.
The municipality of Leiden has a population of 120,000 but the city forms one densely connected agglomeration with its suburbs Oegstgeest, Leiderdorp, Voorschoten and Zoeterwoude with 206,000 inhabitants.
Leiden is located on the Oude Rijn, at a distance of some 20 km (12 mi) from The Hague to its south and some 40 km (25 mi) from Amsterdam to its north.

Center Parcs Sandur is a Holiday Park in the province of Drenthe in the Netherlands and part of the city of Emmen. This park is surrounded by a shimmering recreation lake 'Grote Rietplas'. The holiday park features an indoor pool, private terraces and restaurants. Close to Parc Sandur is located the Van der Valk Hotel.

Driving in the Netherlands: A15 and A27 E311 from Rotterdam to Utrecht

Welcome back to the Dutch highway. In this video you can drive along on the A15 and A27 motorways from Rotterdam to Utrecht. The usual (little shorter and faster) route would be the A20 and A12 connection. In this case the navigation recommended A15 / A27 so I went along with it.
The A12 is a 2x5 lane super highway, however the A20 is still only 2x2 lanes at its narrowest between Gouda and Rotterdam, leading to a lot of congestion. The A15 and A27 is also not the smoothest corridor. It was fine to drive in this video because it was a Sunday so little to no truck traffic. Usually the A15 is full with trucks because it's one of the main connectors between the Port of Rotterdam and the German Ruhrgebiet.
As you can see in the video the A15 is just 2x2 lanes from the exit Dordrecht, however in the past month they were able to open the 2x3 alignment there for a couple of extra kilometers. There are also some obvious bottlenecks in the A27 with just a 2x2 alignment, although it's an important North-South route in the Netherlands and the main connection between Utrecht - Breda and beyond (Antwerp). The A27 is due for an extensive overhaul but its narrow alignment and lack of space on the outside on some stretches are causing problems.

Maassluis
Maassluis is een stad en gemeente in de Nederlandse provincie Zuid-Holland. De gemeente heeft een oppervlakte van 10,12 km² (waarvan 1,63 km² water) en telt 33.696 inwoners (1 juli 2021) die Maassluizers worden genoemd.
Maassluis is rond 1340 ontstaan, als nederzetting bij een sluis in een zeewering die tussen de Noordzee en Rotterdam werd aangelegd om overstromingen te voorkomen. Op economisch gebied was aanvankelijk de visserij van belang. In de negentiende eeuw werd de stad wereldberoemd door het sleepvaartbedrijf L. Smit & Co. en het scheepsbergingsbedrijf W.A. van den Tak, die na een fusie bekendstonden als Smit-Tak. In Maassluis is het Nationaal Sleepvaart Museum gevestigd en in de haven ligt de stoomsleepboot Furie. Dit schip sleepte jarenlang houtvlotten over de Oostzee, werd in 1976 door de AVRO aangekocht voor een rol in de televisieserie Hollands Glorie naar het boek van Jan de Hartog, en is sinds 15 februari 1978 eigendom van de Stichting Hollands Glorie.

Dordrecht and surroundings, Netherlands
Dordrecht, colloquially Dordt, historically in English named Dort, is a city and municipality in the Western Netherlands, located in the province of South Holland. It is the fourth-largest city of the province, with a population of 118,450. The municipality covers the entire Dordrecht Island, also often called Het Eiland van Dordt (the Island of Dordt), bordered by the rivers Oude Maas, Beneden Merwede, Nieuwe Merwede, Hollands Diep, and Dordtsche Kil. Dordrecht is the largest and most important city in the Drechtsteden and is also part of the Randstad, the main conurbation in the Netherlands. Dordrecht is the oldest city in Holland and has a rich history and culture.
The name Dordrecht comes from Thuredriht (circa 1120), Thuredrecht (circa 1200). The name seems to mean 'thoroughfare'; a ship-canal or -river through which ships were pulled by rope from one river to another, as here from the Dubbel to the Merwede, or vice versa.
In 1970, the municipality Dubbeldam (then ca. 10,000 inhabitants) and the southern part of the municipality of Sliedrecht were incorporated into Dordrecht, making Dordrecht Island one municipality.
The current economy of Dordrecht is based on ship building, wood industry, and steel industry. The city has the sixth largest sea port in the Netherlands. One of the largest employers on Dordrecht Island is DuPont de Nemours (Nederland) B.V. It has 9 factories here with a workforce of 900 people.
Together with Zwijndrecht, Papendrecht, and Sliedrecht (the Drecht Cities), Dordrecht is planning a new ambitious vision to revitalize the region's economy, moving from industry to more business services.

Brielle also called Den Briel in Dutch and Brill in English, is a town, municipality and historic seaport in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland, on the north side of the island of Voorne-Putten, at the mouth of the New Maas. The municipality covers an area of 31.14 km2 (12.02 sq mi) of which 3.59 km2 (1.39 sq mi) is water. In 2019 its population was 17,182.
The municipality of Brielle also includes the communities Vierpolders and Zwartewaal.
Brielle is a very old, fortified city. Its name is derived from the Celtic word brogilo (meaning closed area or hunting grounds). The oldest writings about Brielle indicate that the current location is the new Brielle. Den ouden Briel (Old Brill) must have been situated somewhere else on the Voorne-Putten Island. It received city rights in 1306. The city was for a long time the seat of the Count of Voorne, until this fiefdom was added to Holland in 1371. It had its own harbour and traded with the countries around the Baltic Sea. Brielle even had its own trading colony in Sweden.
In Dutch, de bril is the word for the glasses, and closely rhymes with Den Briel; as does Fles which stands for the town of Vlissingen or Flushing, the next town to be captured by the Dutch rebels.
After the capture of Brielle the Protestant rebels tortured and murdered the Catholic Martyrs of Gorkum and Brielle has become a pilgrimage location since then.
In August 1585, Brielle was one of the three Dutch towns that became an English possession by the Treaty of Nonsuch when Queen Elizabeth I received it as security of payment for 5000 soldiers (led by the Earl of Leicester) and used by the Dutch in their struggle against the Spanish. The first English governor of Brielle was Thomas Cecil, 1st Earl of Exeter, succeeded by Edward Conway, 1st Viscount Conway who named his daughter Brilliana in honour of the city. English garrisons were stationed here and at Flushing.[5] In 1617, these cities returned to the Netherlands.

In de wijk Kraaihoek voldoen de woningen van Woonkracht10 aan de Weteringsingel, Boomgaardstraat en een deel van de Badhuisstraat niet meer aan de eisen van deze tijd. De woningen worden gesloopt en er komt nieuw voor in de plaats.

De variatie in woonoppervlak, type woningen en huurprijzen wordt diverse en daarmee aantrekkelijker voor inwoners in verschillende levensfasen. Alle woningen worden straks aangeboden in de sociale huurklasse.

Stravaig Koopmans 39 walk through
A strong and beautifully designed ship for long sea voyages. She was designed by the well known Dutch designer Dick Koopmans Sr. And build in 1975 by the shipyard De Boer in Sliedrecht the Netherlands. She is a quality build ship in resp. 8-6-5 and 4mm steel plate and still is in excellent shape. The hull and deck are somewhat sun-kissed and could use some freshening up. She has a good set of sails for cruising. Stravaig is a nice sailboat that will take you everywhere safely. If there is no wind, there is a relayable Yanmar 40 kW engine from 2016 with only 1200 running hours to take you further. The drive shaft runs through a drip-less shaft seal that will keep the bilge dry.
The interior is fresh and efficiently planned. There is plenty of storage space throughout the ship and a well stocked bookcase. There are currently 5 sleeping places. The double cabin in the front has several storage spaces. The sofas in the saloon can be used as two beds. There is a fifth berth in the stern. The sixth sleeping place in the stern is now used as storage space. There is a spacious kitchen, with a large stainless steel fridge/box of 110 liters and a two-burner gas stove with oven.
The salon has a spacious folding table where you can easily sit with 6 people. Sufficient daylight enters through the large windows. The diesel heater keeps the room comfortably warm. There is a spacious navigation table where you could even use paper charts. The ship has no plotter but is equipped with two Toughbooks that can be connected to the GPS and the AIS receiver. The ship can be kept on course by a robust autopilot with GPS compass and there is also a wind-vane device.
The boat is able to lie at the anchor for a longer period of time due to, among other things, the extensive energy supply. The AGM batteries (from 2023) are charged by 2x 100W solar panels, an Air-X 400W Wind Generator. And if that is not enough, a 2000W petrol generator can be started. To get from the boat ashore, there is a fiberglass bottomed RIB with a 10 hp outboard.
For safety on board there is new, 2023 Plastimo Trans-ocean 4 person Life-raft ISO 9650-1 type A. A life raft suitable for the larger crossings. And there is also a personal locator beacon (PBL).
There is a solid stock of spare parts and tools available so repairs carry out in remote locations. There is a spare controller and user interface for the NavCom 1001 Autopilot, GPS receiver unit and a flux-gate compas, spare rotor blades for the wind generator and a collection of engine parts. There are mast steps all the way to the top of the mast. Antifouling was applied in 2023. A start has also been made to refurbish the deck. The paintwork is carried out with sufficient layers of a two-component paint system.
