Why Soviets built a 30K city in 2 years?

Pripyat descendant outside Chernobyl - Slavutych city.

Soviets brought up desion about new city for the workers of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant already in May 1986. They researched multiple areas in Chernichiv and Kyiv oblasts. Best distance, ground water level, railway connection and radiological condition were near Nedanchichi settlement,
closer to Nerafa railway intersection. Eight soviet republics: Ukraine, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia; started construction of floating shift settlement Yakir and shift settlement
Lisove on the 15th of October 1986. Major construction works started during cold and snowy January 1987. More than 500 carts with own construction materials from each republic were comming to consruction
site. New railroads were built and old railway stations deconservated.
Workers were working in 2-3 shifts a day, almost 24 hours a day. Each republic created unique architecture from its motherland, using traditional materials and ways of construction. This made look of Slavutych
really different from all other soviet cities.

The atmosphere of this 4K aerial video is quite reflective and meditative. The incredible #drone film helps us to understand the price we pay for using unsafe energy. Nuclear energy is always dangerous and carries risks of long-term restoration of a healthy environment. But Mother Nature takes over and heals the wounds, so that we can already observe the amazing diversity of flora and fauna in the disaster zone. Fly the skies of these extraordinary places with us and expand your horizons! And may we humans never repeat our mistakes!

The benefits of this aerial footage:
- Explore the legendary area of #Chernobyl disaster
- Admire the inexhaustible power of nature and its desire for life
- Reflect on the past, the fantastic achievements of people and their mistakes

For the best quality watch these breathtaking aerial views on your Oled TV, Samsung 4K HDR TV, Sony 4K TV, LG 4K TV, etc.

Pripyat (/ˈpriːpjət, ˈprɪp-/ PREE-pyət, PRIP-yət; Russian: При́пять), also known as Prypiat (Ukrainian: При́пʼять, IPA: [ˈprɪpjɐtʲ]), is an abandoned city in northern Ukraine, located near the border with Belarus. Named after the nearby river, Pripyat, it was founded on 4 February 1970 as the ninth atomgrad (a type of closed town in the Soviet Union) to serve the nearby Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which is located in the adjacent ghost city of Chernobyl. Pripyat was officially proclaimed a city in 1979 and had grown to a population of 49,360 by the time it was evacuated on the afternoon of 27 April 1986, one day after the Chernobyl disaster.

Although it was located within the administrative district of Ivankiv Raion (now Vyshhorod Raion since the 2020 raion reform), the abandoned municipality now has the status of city of regional significance within the larger Kyiv Oblast, and is administered directly from the capital of Kyiv. Pripyat is also supervised by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, which manages activities for the entire Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Following the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster, the entire population of Pripyat was moved to the purpose-built city of Slavutych.

???????? Volodymyrska Park in KYIV: Artists' Alley, the Dnieper River & Kyiv's Funicular {Kyiv, UKRAINE}

Kyiv's brilliant summer was on full display during a stroll through the city's Volodymyrska Park. This expansive green space, overlooking several lookouts of the Dnieper River, is the Ukrainian capital's outdoor soul.

Starting from the 18th Century St. Andrew's Church, this manicured and cultured park contains Artists' Alley where numerous local craftsmen peddle their creations. Shaded by many trees, this stroll is idyllic and contains almost everything a weekend in the park should have.

This pride of Kyiv is patrolled by the Volodymyr the Great Statue, who overlooks the Dnieper. Nearby is the newly installed Glass Bridge that, for some, is not for the faint of heart.

Matt engages in all the senses along Volodymyrska's path. The walk ends at the Peace Friendship Arch between Russia and Ukraine, a symbol that has been stressed during recent times with Russia's invasions of Ukraine twice in the last ten years.

To finalize the day, a quick ride along the city's funicular, a trip that definitely puts the fun in funicular.

Also known as prospect, One of Europe’s longest urban streets begins at Zaporizka Square in the north, and cuts through the centre of the city for 10.2 kilometres until we reach the soutern part of Zaporizhia.

VLOG #029 WHAT to do in KYIV (KIEV)? FIRST IMPRESSIONS of UKRAINE‘S capital (city tour)

SEASON V | Kyiv (Kiev), Ukraine
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Kyiv (Kyiv) really surprised me! I had a jam-packed 11 hours in the city.
First I visited the Maidan square (Independence square) and Kreshchatyk street. I did my traditional post-soviet metro tour. I got off at the deepest subway station in the world (Arsenalna). It's an unbelievable 105 meters below the ground and it takes 5 minutes to get from the station to the exit.
Via the Park of Eternal Glory I came to one of the most important sights in Ukraine - the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Kyiv cave church).
In the evening I went to the Motherland Monument. It‘s a statue that‘s about 102 meters tall.

Enjoy the FORMER CCCP REPUBLICS series finale. Stay safe and healthy!
