In March 2023, I headed on a four day adventure to the incredible Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands. With sever weather warnings being forecasted in the lead-up, it was inevitable that we were going to get stuck in the last bit of snow for the winter. We photographed some of the classics, and visited some new areas of interested throughout the time we were here. Skye is a truly magical place. The largest of the Inner Hebrides, it's home to some of Scotland's most iconic landscapes. Whether you are visiting for a few days whilst on a tour of Scotland or staying for a longer spell, the island has countless ways to enchant you, with its mountain ranges, miles of dramatic coastline and captivating history.
Old Man of Storr
This is probably the most famous walk on the Island and definitely the busiest. The ‘Old Man’ is a large pinnacle of rock that stands high and can be seen for miles around.
As part of the Trotternish ridge the Storr was created by a massive ancient landside, leaving one of the most photographed landscapes in the world.
Rigg Viewpoint Skye
Rigg Viewpoint is situated on the northeast coast of the Isle of Skye, 10 miles north of Portree on the A855 coastal road. Other top attractions on this coast are the Storr Pinnacle 3 miles south, Lealt Falls 2 miles north, and Kilt Rock Viewpoint 5 miles north.

These impressive falls are close to the Portree Staffin road. From the car park there is an interesting walk up to Loch Cuithir with the remains of the diatomite railway.
