Hello everyone and welcome to Klaipėda, the third largest city and the only port in Lithuania.
It is great to visit during the sea festival in summer, but it won't disappoint you on other days either with all the sights there are to see. From the most famous sea museum and dolphinarium at the Curonian Spit to Klaipėda's German style old town and beaches at the edge of the city.
p.s. I filmed this a few months back during the sea festival, before having my haircut, so I might look a bit odd after watching my more recent videos ????

Šilutė's origin dates to an inn (Krug, locally karčema) catering to travelers and their horses which was located halfway between Memel (Klaipėda) and Tilsit (Tilžė). The German name of Heydekrug referred to a Krug (an archaic word for inn) in the Heide (heathland). The inn was known for being in the region where most people spoke the Memelland-Samogitian dialect Šilokarčema.

The town was reclaimed by Nazi Germany in 1939 when it reacquired the Memel Territory. In 1941 the town finally received city rights. During World War II, the Stalag Luft VI prisoner-of-war camp was located near Heydekrug; it was the northernmost POW camp within the confines of the German Reich.
There remain many old buildings in Šilutė: an old post office (1905), a fire station (1911), a court building and prison (1848), a bridge across the Sziesze (Šyša) (1914), an estate of H. Scheu (1818), an old market square, a harbor, railway station and a bridge (1875), and the Vydūnas gymnasium.

Šilutė – miestas vakarinėje Lietuvos dalyje, Klaipėdos krašte, Pajūrio žemumoje, Klaipėdos apskrityje, netoli Kuršių marių ir 8 km iki Rusnės salos. Miestas yra nutolęs 50 km į pietus nuo Klaipėdos. Šilutė yra Pamario krašto, Šilutės rajono savivaldybės ir seniūnijos centras, yra Nemuno deltos regioninio parko direkcija. Per miestą teka Šyšos upė, kurioje yra mažųjų laivų uostas. Urbanistikos paminklas. Mieste yra 2 seniūnaitijos – Šilutės ir Šilutės Naujakurių.
Miesto centre yra Šilutės evangelikų liuteronų bažnyčia (iki bokšto viršūnės aukštis siekia 50 metrų, bokšte 3 varpai ir miesto laikrodis, mušantis laiką kas 15 minučių. Jis yra didžiausias Lietuvoje: jo ciferblato skersmuo 2,5 m, didžioji rodyklė 1,10, mažoji – 0,80 m ilgio.[2][3] Miesto centre taip pat yra Karių kapinės. Prie geležinkelio stovi Šilutės Šv. Kryžiaus bažnyčia (pastatyta 1854 m.), bei netoliese yra Šilutės evangelikų baptistų bažnyčia. Taip pat mieste yra Šilutės Arkangelo Mykolo koplyčia, sentikių bendruomenė ir Šilutės Naujoji Apaštalų bažnyčia. Mieste buvo tuberkuliozės ligoninė, vakarinėje miesto dalyje yra kultūros namai, prie Šyšos – išlikę Hugo Šojaus dvaro rūmai (Šilutės muziejus), rajono centrinė ligoninė ir poliklinika; senelių globos namai, paštas, miesto parkas.

A visit to the abandoned building in Silute known as cernobolis - (I don't know the real name of this place, if you know please tell me).
This place to me is full of wonder and stories and that's why I wanted to film it. I can imagine all the action that happened in here. I've heard is used to be a sports center, but it looks more like an old factory.
It was very dark inside and sometimes dangerous when walking through it but it was a very interesting visit and I will probably return again one day to make a bigger and better video of this place.
