Maardu - a likable small city with good infrastructure for pedestrians located near Tallinn (15 km)
Maardu is small but a likable city close to Tallinn. I was positively surprised by the wide pedestrian paths, many trees, green areas, and children's playgrounds.

Suur Munamägi translation Great Egg Mountain is the highest peak in Estonia (and the Baltic states), reaching 318 meters (1,043 ft) above sea level. It is located near the village of Haanja, in Võru County in the south-eastern corner of Estonia, close to the borders of both Latvia and Russia. The landscape around the peak - the Haanja Upland - is gently hilly.

The territory of Võrumaa covers 2,305 km2 (890 sq mi) and is influenced by a temperate seasonal climate. In January 2013 Võru County had a population of 32,806, 2.5% of the total population in Estonia. The county is subdivided into 12 rural municipalities and one urban municipality, the county capital, Võru.

The locality of Sillamäe was first mentioned in 1502 when the area was under the control of Livonian Order. The bridge across Sõtke and a mill in Sillamäe were documented in 1700.

Valaste Waterfall is the highest waterfall in Estonia and neighboring regions (30.5 m) situated between Ontika and Valaste in the Toila Parish of the Ida-Viru County and formed by a stream, as it flows over the Baltic Klint not far from the shore of the Gulf of Finland. It is a popular tourist attraction with its spray freezing up in winter.
There is a parking lot, some explanatory signs, and a trail using a double spiral staircase to get down the cliff. Opposite of the waterfall, a viewing platform has been built, and this offers views of the falls.
The platform went out of service and the stairs to it were closed since 2013. A new staircase with platforms and walkways to the shore of the Gulf of Finland has been built and opened to the public in 2018.

Purekkari cape is the northernmost place of mainland Estonia.
The cape is 1.5 km long, covered with rocks and boulders, and located on the Pärispea Peninsula in Lahemaa National Park. There is a small island at the end of the cape, which can be reached only when the water level is low. Thorny Japanese rose bushes catch the eye during blooming and when the roses bear fruit in the autumn. In the autumn, you can also see many migratory birds.

Our visit to the beautiful city of Tallinn, Estonia on May 17, 2019. Estonia was a port that was included on our Baltic Sea cruise. We chose to explore the city by foot on our own. If arriving by cruise ship access to the city is easily gained by walking. Clean, friendly, great eateries, filled with beautiful sights and interesting places, Tallinn is worthy of any traveler's bucket list.

We had a really great time in Latvia, not too long ago, so we decided to continue on our adventure around the Baltic states. This time we flew into Tallinn in Estonia, to explore this fantastic country. This video shows our first impressions of Tallinn and what this amazing city has to offer outside of its famous old town. We ride a trike on the beach, explore a food court and take a walk in the park. More videos from Estonia coming up shortly.

Tour to Kuressaare, the capital of Estonian island
Our next destination was the most significant settlement on the island. Kuressaare is home to several SPA hotels, a beautiful but small old city, and the most preserved Knights fortress in Estonia. You can spend a day in Kuressaare visiting the history museum in the fort and walking around and having lunch on the main street of the city. After a recent renovation, it became very welcoming and pleasant to spend time.
