Kampot is a scenic riverside town that has a number of colonial buildings.
The quaint riverside town provides a gateway to the French hill station of Bokor National Park that has great views and a pleasant climate.
View ancient ruins at the Kampot Kampong Trach caves, go boating on the river, and watch the waterfalls in this idyllic location.
2. Kratie: A Charming Little Town
View well-preserved French colonial buildings at the little charming town of Kratie that lies on the banks of the Mekong River.
Enjoy a magical sunset at the Mekong River here and also watch the rare Irrawaddy dolphins in action.
4. Siem Reap: A City with Ancient Ruins
The Siem Reap river and the rice paddies make this town much more than just a stopover to witness the Angkor Wat temples. MOST POPULAR Temples to go to when you visit Siem Reap Cambodia.
Temples in Siem Reap attract millions of visitors each year, especially those in the expansive Angkor Archaeological Park. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1992, there are approximately 50 Buddhist and Hindu temples dating back to the 12th century within its grounds. While most of the structures have collapsed and been covered in greenery, history buffs will delight in the many well-preserved stone carvings as they provide a glimpse of the once-prosperous Khmer empire. Angkor Wat Angkor Wat is the largest religious temple in the world, with a volume of stone equaling that of the Cheops pyramid in Egypt. It is unlike all the other Khmer temples in that it faces west, and 12th Century Hinduism inspires it. Its symmetrical towers are stylized on the modern Cambodian flag.
