Welcome to F&T Reviews, in this vlog we will feature the town plaza of Sibonga, a municipality in Cebu Province, just over 50 kilometers south of Cebu City.
Sibonga Heritage Park is one of the cleanest parks in the province. It is a nice place to gather friends and family - where you can picnic, stroll, jog or ride a bike.
Food stands are everywhere, so getting food and drinks are just within reach. The Sibonga church or Virgin of the Pillar Parish Church can also be found in the vicinity and a convent made in stone and coral.
Most of the municipal offices are also located at the back of this serene and wide recreation park.

Take a walk with me as I explore the Simala Shrine Castle Church in Sibonga Cebu Philippines for the first time.
Simala Parish Church, Sibonga, in Cebu is known as Simala Shrine, Simala Church, Mother Mary Castle Church, Birhen sa Simala, Mama Mary Shrine of Simala, and Miraculous Mama Mary Church.
Its real name is Monastery of the Holy Eucharist, and although it’s not the oldest Church or the Holiest Church in Cebu, it’s one of the most well known and most visited new Churches in Cebu. For believers, Simala Church is said to be a solemn place to reflect, and a visit will give your life more perspective.
Described by many as one of the most beautiful Churches in Cebu, Simala Shrine is a place of pilgrimage for devotees. Known as the Miraculous Mother Mary Church after the Virgin Mary statue housed within the Shrine was seen crying, it attracts hundreds of people every day hoping their prayers will be answered. Annual visit to the Monastery of the Holy Eucharist. Simala church is now open and accesible to all pilgrims around the world. Veneration of the image of Mama Mary is also open inside the church.

THE SHRINE OF SIMALA - A PILGRIMAGE PLACE IN SIBONGA, CEBU, PHILIPPINES.
This place is also known as the Monastery of the Eucharist and the shrine is dedicated to the Virgin Mary of Cebu. It takes about 2 1/2 - 3 hours to travel from Cebu City or Mactan.
TRANSPORTATION:
There is public transport available but for tourists, it will be best if you hire a private van. We contracted a van for Php 5k that is good for 8-hour service, all-in. We were able to tour other places as well that are near or within the travel route.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Comfortable clothes as the place are hot and humid even during December and for ladies, make to wear blouses with sleeves and do shorts allowed.
WHAT TO DO IN SIMALA:
Pray, light a candle, hear mass on a scheduled mass hour, go through the inside of the monastery in bare feet(you are to leave the footwear outside the corridors), write petitions and give notes of thanks, donate, and take photos discreetly in allowed places.
I have been in place 3x and it never ceases to amaze me. It always gives me a wonderful feeling of happiness, peace, and contentment and I hope it will to you as well.
