10 BEST FOODS to eat in Hong Kong (and exactly WHERE to get them) | THE CLASSIC HONG KONG FOOD TOUR

WELCOME TO HONG KONG!
Whether you're just coming to visit, or you've just moved to Hong Kong or you're moving out of Hong Kong and want to make sure you haven't left any stones unturned before you leave, this is the tour! This is what you have to eat in Hong Kong before leaving! The MUST EATS of Hong Kong. These are the most classic, well known, and famous Hong Kong dishes and foods. Make sure to try out these foods at their most famous restaurants respectively to really get in the ultimate Hong Kong food experience.

All these restaurants are super well known so don't worry if they look off the beaten path because they're not. Also, whoever tells you these places are hidden gems are clearly lying to you LOL English menus are available at all these places with the exception of Joy Hing so don't worry. This Hong Kong food tour is meant for you to do it yourself so it shouldn't be intimidating. This food tour is also within a small area (the more touristy areas of Hong Kong) so you'll be able to do it within a few hours though I would recommend you spilt it up before two days as there is quite a bit of food.

Once you've done this, come back and we'll go through the more hidden gems of Hong Kong but start here first so you get a basic food foundation of the flavours of Hong Kong. =) If you go straight to the hidden gems without a base, you'll won't really understand why those are hidden gems, if that makes sense.

EDIT: Just doing my tour guide training and there's a correction. Cookie crust arrived in Hong Kong in the 1940's and puff pastry in the 1950's.

About HUMID WITH A CHANCE OF FISHBALLS TOURS:

“If you like our name, you’ll like our tours” is their motto.
Founded in late 2016, Humid with a Chance of Fishballs Tours is a small grassroots independent company that strives to offer authentic and off-the-beaten path tours so tourists and expats alike can get a taste and glimpse of true local life in Hong Kong.

As of February 1, 2019, they have amassed over 460 reviews on TripAdvisor with a 98% 5-star rating and are currently ranked #5 out of 202 companies for the Best Tours in Hong Kong.

An expat in Hong Kong recently sang their praises, “A Must Do! We have lived in Hong Kong for over a decade and still love to explore restaurants. We experienced authentic local restaurants in a district we'd never spent much time in previously. For a tourist it is a glimpse into local life, and for an expat it means finding another local gem to eat at. Some of the dishes presented were unlike others I had tasted in HK, unique seasonings, making it truly some of the best late night eats around. Even a local would weigh in on it being good!

Must visit in Hong Kong ????????! Sham Shui Po has awesome shops and snacks!

Sham Shui Po on Hong Kong’s Kowloon side is one of the most vibrant neighbourhoods in Hong Kong. Filled with lively markets and stalls selling everything from the latest technology to everything you need to make your own dress. Join us as we go out on an adventure with J Lou as she spends the day exploring the best that Sham Shui Po has to offer. We start the day at Sun Heung Yuen, one of Hong Kong’s many cha chaan teng’s for a delicious breakfast of Beef and Egg Sandwiches and Hong Kong Milk Tea. We check out the Apliu Street Market for some new gadgets, Ki Lung Street for cute buttons, Nam Cheong Street for silky ribbons and Tai Nan Street for small leather goods. We find Hong Kong’s unique record shop, Vinyl Hero also known as Paul’s Boutique. Paul sells over 50,000 vinyl records out of his own apartment and we couldn’t help picking out one for ourselves! Last but not least, we end the day with some of Sham Shui Po’s tastiest snacks. We eat award-winning Cheong fun from Hop Yik Tai and try an interesting flavour combination of salted egg and spam egg waffles from Goodest Snack. It’s all here in our latest episode of Shorts, where we discover the best parts of the world in bite-sized format.
