Places to see in ( Latina - Italy )

Latina is the capital of the province of Latina in the Lazio region, in central Italy. As of 2011, the city has 115,895 inhabitants and is thus the second-largest city of the region, after the national capital Rome. It was founded in 1932 under the fascist administration, as Littoria, when the area surrounding it, which had been a swamp since antiquity, was drained.

Latina was founded by Benito Mussolini on 30 June 1932 as Littoria, named for the fascio littorio. The city was inaugurated on 18 December of the same year. Littoria was populated with settlers coming mainly from Friuli and Veneto, who formed the so-called Venetian-Pontine community (today surviving only in some peripheral boroughs). The edifices and the monuments, mainly in rationalist style, were designed by famous architects and artists such as Marcello Piacentini, Angiolo Mazzoni and Duilio Cambellotti. In 1934 it became a provincial capital and, after World War II, renamed Latina in 1946. With the arrival of other people mostly from Lazio itself, the original Venetian-like dialect was increasingly substituted by a form of Romanesco dialect.

The city coat of arms is a blue shield with a stylized drawing of the City Hall Clock Tower in the middle, standing on a field of green, and flanked by two stalks of wheat tied at the base with a red ribbon engraved with the motto LATINA OLIM PALUS (Latina, once a swamp) in Latin. The shield is surmounted by a mural crown. The arms combine the three colors of the Flag of Italy (red, white, and green) with the black of the Fascism and the Azzurro Savoia (the blue of the House of Savoy).

The city has some pharmaceutical, chemical industry, cheese production and has a strong service sector. Latina is also an important centre for agriculture (vegetables, flowers, sugar, fruit, cheese and derivates). The former Latina nuclear power plant has been shut down and is currently undergoing decommissioning. The frazioni of Latina are: Latina Lido, Latina Scalo, Borgo Bainsizza, Borgo Carso, Borgo Faiti, Borgo Grappa, Borgo Isonzo, Borgo Montello, Borgo Piave, Borgo Podgora, Borgo Sabotino, Borgo Santa Maria, Borgo San Michele, Chiesuola, and Tor Tre Ponti.

Latina is located in the Province of Latina, part of the southern section of the region of Lazio. The city is about 62 kilometres (39 miles) south of Rome The municipality borders on Aprilia, Cisterna di Latina, Nettuno, Pontinia, Sabaudia, Sermoneta and Sezze.

( Latina - Italy ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Latina . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Latina - Italy

**Some History**
The territory of Sermoneta was already populated in the archaic era. In its territory, near the present Abbey of Valvisciolo stood the ancient volsca city of *Sulmo*, mentioned by Virgil in the Aeneid.

The expansion of the Pontine marshes and the invasions of the Saracens pushed the inhabitants of ancient Sulmo to move to the current Sermoneta, which is already mentioned with this name in the eleventh century. Libero Comune, soon submitted to the Caetani family (1297) who made it the center of their dominions over the whole of southern Lazio, due to the fortunate position on via Pedemontana, an artery that had replaced the Appia in the connections between the North and the Southern Italy.
The Sermonetans, for the control of the road and in particular of the passing customs, first defeated the city of Ninfa then the neighboring Sezze.
The perfectly preserved medieval village, the Caetani Castle and the Cathedral date back to this period.

From the 16th century, with the first reclamation works of the Pontine Marshes and the reopening of the Appian Way, the city began a slow decline.
In 1567 it lost the title of capital of the Duchy of the Caetani who placed their headquarters in Cisterna. It hosted Leonardo da Vinci.

In 1928 on a part of its territory, in the locality of Doganella di Ninfa, the NationalFascist Combatant Opera set one of the headquarters for the reclamation operations of the Pontine marshes.
Since the post-war period, its historic center has experienced a heavy depopulation in favor of its territory in the plain where the hamlets of Doganella, Tufette, Pontenuovo and Carrara arose on the borders with the municipalities of Cisterna di Latina and Latina.

At the same time it has experienced a notable tourist expansion that has as its destination the ancient and well-preserved ancient village, home to numerous cultural events.

Scenes of the 2007 film Silk featuring Keira Knightley were filmed in Sermoneta.

Places to see in ( Rapallo - Italy ) Lungomare Vittorio Veneto

Places to see in ( Rapallo - Italy ) Lungomare Vittorio Veneto

Salotto buono of the city, the Lungomare Vittorio Veneto welcomes the visitor who arrives in Rapallo opening a perfect and fascinating setting in front of his eyes: facing the sea, the necklace of palms, tall and soaring, is a green counterpoint to the row of style buildings that surround it and that host the great names of restaurants and Rapallo hospitality in the dehors.

At the center, the Kiosk of Music differentiates our promenade from all those of the coastal towns and brings to mind the period of the early twentieth century, when Rapallo was among the pioneers of the new tourism of the time, one of the most popular destinations for stays of European and overseas travelers.

At the eastern end, the sixteenth-century castle recalls the baggage of history and culture of the city, while on the opposite side the tourist port, modern and frequented by large yachts, offers an image of a sought-after location and always in step with the times: in only one glance are condensed the two souls of a complete town, which lives on the sea, but has also managed to grow going beyond the image of summer resort.

The shops, both those of ancient tradition and those recently opened, offer a varied and quality shopping, always attentive to the latest trends. Thanks to a climate that allows you to organize outdoor events throughout the year, the Lungomare is the scene of the most varied events: from concerts of light music to sporting events, initiatives related to Christmas, Carnival and Easter at summer festivals, the red cloak of the promenade overlooking the rocks always proves to be the ideal setting to welcome the public.

Today the promenade is a prestigious business card for the city and for the whole historical center that is immediately next to the row of houses overlooking the sea, those same houses that until the mid-nineteenth century, when the tourist fortunes of Rapallo, were lapped by the waves or rested directly on the beach where the fishermen's fishing boats were pulled in dry. One of these houses is the Casa Garibalda, with its characteristic white and gray stripes, the object of a careful restoration completed in recent years. It is one of the most significant palaces of the ancient Rapallo area, also classified as a national monument. In the façade the coat of arms of the admiral Biagio Assereto indicates its dating to the fourteenth century, while the porticoed houses behind it must be considered more ancient.

( Rapallo - Italy ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Rapallo . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Rapallo - Italy

Driving out of Naples Ghetto (Italy) 6am

Napes is down south from Rome, it is along the coast line. My experience of naples wasn't nice, and here is a view of the city by car, it hasn't been the best place I've been to, in fact I wouldn't ever want to go back, it's a really depressing place to be, and the traffic is crazy, it's worst then Barcelona traffic, and everyone is dangerous drivers, it does start to get better as you drive out of naples, but everything seems to be breaking down, the roads are broken everywhere, there's rubbish outside of every bin, I couldn't believe the state of the place. The mess continues into the buildings also, the b&b we stayed at had sewer problems, but I would say the whole city has sewer problems, it wasn't my plan to stay in naples, but because of a misunderstanding I ended up staying the night. One of the worst decisions of my life. So this video is of me leaving the city, and wondering how this city is so messed up in Europe and its kept such a big secret. Alot of the streets remind me of a 3rd world country, something needs to be done about that place, the weather is a lot better down there, and soon as you get out of the city it straight away starts to get cleaner, but check it out for yourself, and leave your comments of your experience in naples in the comments section
