MUST visit...???????? Sesimbra Portugal

Hello guys! ????

Still in Portugal...still exploring????

Subscribe to see all of the Portugal, because I will visit all of 308 municipalities in here!

What to do in Sesimbra?????
I will show you, let's go!!!

Today we are at Cabo Espichel????

Cabo Espichel is a cape situated on the western coast of the civil parish of Castelo, municipality of Sesimbra, in the Portuguese district of Setúbal.

The cape of Cabo Espichel is around 40 kilometres south of Lisbon.  This is a wild spot, where big waves crash against massive cliffs.  It is a place to appreciate the raw beauty of nature but you need to beware of the dangerous drops and the powerful wind. Be safe!!!

There is lighthouse here since the 15th century and today you can see hexagonal lighthouse built in 1790. It is still operational, beaming out a light and sounding a siren which warns ships.

Also on the cape is the Nossa Senhora do Cabo Church and cafe serving traditional Portuguese fare.

In the area are some uniquely preserved dinosaur footprints from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.

Enjoy and thank you for support!

Sesimbra - Portugal HD

Sesimbra is a municipality of Portugal, in the Setúbal District, lying at the foothills of the Serra da Arrábida, a mountain range between Setúbal and Sesimbra. Due to its particular position at the Setúbal Bay, near the mouth of the Sado River and its natural harbour, it’s an important fishing town.

Besides professional fishing and sport fishing (mainly of swordfish), the most significant revenues in Sesimbra come from tourism. The town is famous for its beaches, fish restaurants and nightlife.

The original name of Celtic origin was Cempsibriga, meaning the high place (briga) of the Celtic tribe the Cempsi.

Close by, on a mountaintop, 240 m (787.40 ft) above sea level, lies strategically the Moorish castle. It was taken from the Moors, during the Portuguese Reconquista in the year 1165 by king Afonso Henriques with the help of Frank Crusaders. The battlements afford a beautiful panorama over Sesimbra, its harbour and the surrounding countryside.

During the Age of Discoveries, Sesimbra became an important seaport. Even king Manuel I lived here for a while. In the 17th century the fort Fortaleza de Santiago was built along the beach, as part of Portugal's coastal defence. On 3 June 1602 an English fleet defeated a Spanish galley fleet and in addition captured a large Portuguese carrack and severely damaged the fort. It was even used in the 18th century by Portuguese kings as a seaside retreat.

A tourist travelling to Sesimbra can appreciate its beaches, traditional fish restaurants and the Arrábida National Park. Sesimbra is a popular diving location close to Lisbon and the most famous dive site is the wreck of the River Gurara, a Nigerian cargo ship, that sunk in 1989 with the loss of 45 sailors.

Close to the Moorish castle is the church Nossa Senhora do Castelo. It stands on the spot where king Sancho I built a Romanesque chapel in the early 13th century, leading to the creation in 1388 of the parish of Nossa Senhora do Castelo de Sesimbra. The present church was built in 1721. When a new church was built in the village, this church passed into disuse and fell into ruins. It was restored between 1965 and 2001. The walls of the church are inlaid with beautiful azulejos.

The 17th century-pulpit was made from local pink marble. The gilded triumphal arch of the 18th century-choir is decorated with Manueline motives. On the left side of the choir stands in a niche the gilded and polychromed statue of the Madonna of the Castle on a giant shell.

Amazing places to visit In Portugal ????????

Amazing places to visit in Portugal ????????

I am glad to share with you this wild Portugal cinematic travel film including the most beautiful destinations in Portugal. If you ask yourself how to travel Portugal from lisbon to Algarve despite COVID 19, look no further ! I made this cinematic travel film in 4K with the panasonic gh5 to give you a taste of Portugal in 2020 and share with you the beauty of its nature and landscapes. Driving to Algarve is an incredible experience which I would advise everyone either you travel solo, couple or family.

The road trip through portugal has been one of the most beautiful travel we have done and I hope you will appreciate this short cinematic travel film. I am glad to share with you some of the best places to visit in Portugal tourism.

Here is a top 10 portugal places we visited in 2020:

Reserva Natural do Estuario do Sado (Setubal)

It is the 1st stop on our trip to algarve. This natural reserve protects the Sado Estuary, a biologically rich area of wetlands extending east and south of Setúbal. With more than 250 avian species, this is a prime spot for birdwatching in Portugal and definitely a highlight of the trip !

Castelo de Sesimbra (Sesimbra)

The Moorish castle of Sesimbra stands high above the pretty fishing village and has guarded the town since its early founding. The castle was one of the first victories for the Christian conquest of Portugal over the Moors in the 12th century and its strategic positioning was important for the defence of early Portugal. For visitors the who make the 230m climb up to the castle will be rewarded of stunning panoramic views over Sesimbra and the surrounding coastline.

Cabo da Roca (The end of the world)

The Cabo da Roca is the wild and rugged headland that marks the most westerly point of mainland Europe. It is a must see for every road trip in Portugal. These windswept cliffs and barren lands were believed to be the edge of the world up until the 14th century, and even today the region possesses a remote and untamed atmosphere. The road on the way there itself is a wonderful trip.

Cabo de São Vicente (Sagres)

Located a few kilometres northwest of Sagres is the historic Cabo de São Vicente (Cape of Saint Vincent) is a craggy, windswept headland at the spot which claims to be the most south-westerly point of mainland Europe. Until the end of the 14th century many believed this place to be the end of the world - come here on the right day and you might think they had a point.

Boca do Inferno (Cascais)

The Boca do Inferno is a unique sea-arch and cliff formation close to the town of Cascais. The coastline to the west of Cascais comprises of high eroded cliffs, battered by the full force of the Atlantic Ocean. The Boca do Inferno was originally a sea cave, which subsequently collapsed leaving a chasm and sea arch. Into this opening the Atlantic waves continually crash, and during violent winter storms water explodes upwards similar to an erupting volcano – hence the overdramatic name of Boca do Inferno (Hell’s Mouth).

Monchique

A Portugal road trip wouldn't me complete... Rising up between the Algarve and neighbouring Alentejo region is the Serra de Monchique, a range of rolling mountains clad in heavy forest. Here you will find the highest point of the trip on the Algarve; standing at 902m (2,959ft) is the peak of Fóia with its all encompassing views which span the Algarve's south and west coasts all the way to Cabo de São Vicente.

Monterosa Olive Oil Farm

I am sure that you won't regret to travel Portugal during COVID 19 the road trip to algarve rather than bus or train, because there are so many places where you want to stop before you travel again. I hope you enjoyed this cinematic travel film. Please tell me which format of travel video you prefer, vlog or cinematic?

...in Lagoa de Albufeira ???????? Sesimbra Portugal

Ola Amigos and Amigas!????????

What to do in Sesimbra?????
I will show you, let's explore Portugal together!!!

Today we go to Lagoa de Albufeira????????

It is Portuguese lagoon located in the municipality of Sesimbra in the parish of Castelo. Sesimbra is in Setúbal part of Portugal. It is about 40 km away from Lisbon. Place is amazing and I recommend to visit ✅️ Also take swimwear...cool place for swimming and go back to childhood.

The lagoon is fed by the fresh water of the Apostiça, Ferraria, Aiana streams and by the salt water of the Atlantic Ocean , when the dune is officially opened in the spring . Lagoa de Albufeira is made up of three lagoons: the Large, the Small and the Estacada. Upon reaching a maximum depth of 15 meters, the Lagoa de Albufeira is considered the deepest in Portugal.

Surrounded by pine forests around perimeter. The calm waters and the wind create conditions for the practice of windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing. Sought after by countless families with children, traffic can be chaotic on weekends(in summer). So go off-season ????

On platforms in the middle of the lagoon there are mussel ponds.

Since 1987 it is in the National Reserve , being a zone of protection for birds????[WK]

And of course if you enjoy my videos and want to see more - Subscribe!!!
We will explore all Portugal????????

Thank you for support and Stay Tuned!!!

Best Regards,

Secret Beach Walk , Sesimbra Portugal - 【4K UHD】

Subscribe to our channel ???? and turn on notifications (( ????))

An exotic and completely wild beach in Sesimbra, Portugal. There are no terraces, no stalls, and no lifeguards. At Ribeiro do Cavalo Beach, you will only find a small strip of white sand, a turquoise sea of calm, crystalline waters, and simply breathtaking scenery. And, amazingly, all this is surprisingly very close to Lisbon!
Ribeira do Cavalo Beach or Cavalo Beach is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever visited on the Portuguese coast. The name comes from one of the huge rocks on the beach. Some people say that such a stone resembles the head of a horse.
It is no wonder that some people compare Ribeira do Cavalo Beach to Thailand or the Caribbean beaches. The blue of the sea is truly fascinating, and the beauty of the place surpasses any expectation.
You realize you’re not in the Caribbean when you put your foot in the water. After all, like any beach that is prized in the Sesimbra region, the water is a bit cold!

Ribeira do Cavalo is located about 40 km from Lisbon, very close to the village of Sesimbra. However, there is no car access to get there. You can choose between taking a boat trip or a small trail.
If you opt for the trail, as I did, remember to dress appropriately. The trail, although short, is quite steep and full of rocks.
