Top 10 Biggest Cities in Italy | Italy Travel Tips

this video is about Top 10 Biggest Cities in Italy.

Italy is a country consisting of a peninsula delimited by the Alps and several islands surrounding it. Italy is located in the center of the Mediterranean sea, in Southern Europe and is also often considered part of Western Europe .

A unitary parliamentary republic with Rome as its capital and largest city, the country covers a total area of 301,340 km2 and shares land borders with France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, and the enclaves micro states of Vatican City and San Marion.

Italy has a territorial enclave in Switzerland and a maritime enclave in Tunisian waters. With around 60 million inhabitants, Italy is the third most populous member state of the European Union, after Germany and France.

It is also famous worldwide for its delicious cuisine, its trendy fashion industry, luxury sports cars and motorcycles, diverse regional cultures and dialects, as well as for its beautiful coast, alpine lakes and mountain ranges (the Alps and Apennines). No wonder it is often nicknamed the Bel Paese (the Beautiful Country).

with 94 million tourists per year (2019) , Italy is the third most visited country in international tourism arrivals, with 217.7 million foreign visitors nights spent and a total of 432.6 million visitors.

People have visited Italy for centuries, yet the first to visit the peninsula for touristic reasons were aristocrats during the Grand Tour, beginning in the late 17th century, and flourishing in the 18th century.
According to estimates by the Bank of Italy of 2018, the tourism sector directly generates more than 5% and represents over 6% of the employed.

People mainly visit Italy for its rich culture, cuisine, history, fashion and art, its beautiful coastline and beaches, its mountains, and priceless ancient monuments. Italy also contains more World Heritage Sites than any other country in the world.
