Dublin Travel Guide 2022 - Best Places to Visit in Dublin Ireland in 2022

Dublin, capital of the Republic of Ireland, is on Ireland’s east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey. Its historic buildings include Dublin Castle, dating to the 13th century, and imposing St Patrick’s Cathedral, founded in 1191. City parks include landscaped St Stephen’s Green and huge Phoenix Park, containing Dublin Zoo. The National Museum of Ireland explores Irish heritage and culture.

The Republic of Ireland occupies most of the island of Ireland, off the coast of England and Wales. Its capital, Dublin, is the birthplace of writers like Oscar Wilde, and home of Guinness beer. The 9th-century Book of Kells and other illustrated manuscripts are on show in Dublin’s Trinity College Library. Dubbed the Emerald Isle” for its lush landscape, the country is dotted with castles like medieval Cahir Castle.

Exploring The BEST Things To Do In GLASGOW!!????????????????????????????

Today w'ere exploring the best things to do in GLASGOW, SCOTLAND!!

If we're being honest, we had no clue what to expect before arriving in Glasgow. We knew they were obviously known as the capital of Scotland & a major home for Scottish football, but there's SO MUCH to do in Glasgow & this video merely scratches the surface!

Today we start by going to Willow Grove for coffee. Willow Grove Coffee is a very popular coffee shop in Glasgow & the flat white tasted incredible! It's a really popular place & we highly recommend it!

We then made our way over to the University of Glasgow. We knew that this college would be impressive, but it wildly exceeded our expectations! The cloisters gave a really cool Harry Potter feel & the university itself is one of the four oldest universities in the English-speaking world. University of Glasgow is an excellent spot to enjoy coffee while enjoying some spectacular scenery.

From there we hopped in the car & drove into the center of Glasgow to see Buchanan Street. This felt like the main thoroughfare in Glasgow & made for a great afternoon of window shopping. If you're looking to shop until you drop then this is the place for you!! While in the center of Glasgow, make sure to stop & see George Square. George Square is a central hub for the city & has a host of different statues of famous Scottish people who've done great things.

Shortly after we walked over to BrewDog Merchant City. This is a chain restaurant/brewery, but has an excellent selection of Scottish beers that we wanted to try. The barbecue & fries were an excellent treat along with our IPAs!

After sufficiently stuffing ourselves with good food & great beer, we decided to walk a bit to Glasgow Cathedral & the Necropolis behind it. This cathedral is truly stunning. From the vaulted ceilings to the crypt below, we were mesmerized by the architecture & couldn't believe this was free to tour (although donations are encouraged). Behind the Glasgow Cathedral is the Necropolis. Trey loves a good cemetery, & it's not hard to see why when you enter this. These Victorian headstones highlight the ornate tastes of previous generations. Make sure to walk through & marvel at some of the most beautiful headstones you'll find in Britain!

We finished our day by going to Ashton Lane. Ashton Lane is a cobblestoned backstreet in the West End of Glasgow. There are numerous bars & restaurants to choose from, & we opted with stopping at Innis & Gunn Brewery. We sampled some great beers & sandwiches before closing out our day in Glasgow. Glasgow's such an incredible city & we had such a great time. If you love good food & beer then add Glasgow to your itinerary next time you're in the UK!

Thank you so much for watching & subscribe if you're new as we'd love to have you on board this crazy journey! See you in a few days!

Stillorgan Reservoir, Sandyford, Dublin. A Tour...

An enormous expanse of water sits beside Stillorgan and Sandyford Luas Stations in Sandyford iIndustrial Estate (aka Sandyford Office Park). This 19th century reservoir is easy to miss. Here, for the convenience of the passing Luas commuters, is a comprehensive tour of Stillorgan's three secret lakes. And if you ever swam here, please comment.

On a technical note - I have now hacked my GF1's firmware. All previous videos were with the default firmware. This is a stable set using AVCHD 25P and FCP for colour correction. The long lens shots are a crappy Nikon fit Hoya 75-260 f4.5 with a half centimetre of fungus in the front. Sound is a Zoom H1N1 hanging in a full wind sock. Sound is quiet because the reservoir feels quiet when you're there.

Have you ever wanted to visit beautiful South Dublin in Ireland? Take a walk with me at night.

Luas Trams:

Bewley''s Oriental cafe:

Grafton Street:

Grogan's Pub:

St Stephen's Green:

International Bar:

So here we are on our walk around some of the streets of South Dublin at nightime, just to give you a little taste of the ambience of the city. And we begin on Suffolk Street, just off Grafton Street, and take a look at the splendidly lit pub called M J O’Neill, with its great clock protruding from the wall.

And then it’s on to see a well-known Dublin landmark. It is of course Molly Malone with her cart full of ‘cockles and mussles alive alive o’ – as the aule song goes. This statue’s been moved a couple of times – it was at the bottom of Grafton Street for a while as I remember. In any case it’s one of Dublin’s most loved statues I think it’s fair the say. It was cheekily nicknamed ‘The tart with the cart’– probably because she was rumoured to have been a prostitute.

The building just behind her is the old St Andrews Church and we’re just turning into St Andrew’s Street here. It’s not a particularly busy night, but there are some people out enjoying themselves which is nice.

We’re just approaching the junction of Wicklow Street now, and this bar on the corner on our left is the International Bar – you may know it from my previous Naked Ireland video, look that one up if you haven’t seen it.

This is a very cosmopolitan part of the city. There are restaurants of all kinds around here and lots of chic shops, obviously closed at this time of night. I’m filming here at the end of April and as you can see people are sitting out on the terraces and braving the weather. This area is pedestrianised, with access just for delivery vans and shop owners, which make walking around it all the more pleasant. You can probably see there are quite a few bikes too. It’s nice to be able to cycle in a city.

Dublin is a popular venue for stag and hen parties – often from England, though I think there has been an attempt, as in other European cities, to discourage this.

This grand Georgian Building on the left here is the Powerscourt Shopping centre, well worth a visit. You may also remember my film on this. And just on the other side of the road, that red pub on the corner is one of my favourite Dublin bars – Grogan’s, a great place for your authentic Dublin pint of Guinness. Again, I devoted a film to this amazing bar so be sure to check that out too. You can see how lively it is around here. And all these side streets are also full of good places to eat and drink.

You may be looking at this film now thinking that this looks a lot like London and you’d be right. Obviously Dublin was once an important city in the British Empire, before partial independence. So, it shares its Georgian architecture with London. Even many of the street names are similar to those found in London. Though of course it’s much smaller and so easier to get around, and most would say a much friendlier place – you’ll have to come here and judge for yourself. But you’ll have noticed the abundance of pubs. If you like a pint, Dublin is a good place to be – St James’ Gate, where Guinness is brewed is not very far from here, so you can imagine there gallons of the stuff consumed here by the hour.

The St Stephen’s Green shopping Centre is on our right here and in the distance on the left you can just see the glass awning of the Gaity Theatre. It’s an amazing theatre established in 1871. There’s a range of stuff you can see there from opera to musical shows. It’s a very beautiful building as you can see – and on the inside as well – typically Victorian. I’ve said it before, but the Victorian’s really knew how to build nice public buildings.

We’re now approaching the junction with Grafton Street. Again, I’ve made films of Grafton Street as well as of Bewley’s Coffee house in Grafton Street, so if you want to know more about that you know where to go.

This is a very popular part of the city as you have beautiful St Stephen’s Green now on the right surrounded by a Georgian square housing some really exclusive hotels and up market shops....and then on into St Stephen’s Green West.

As you can see the road broadens here and this is where you might pick up one of the Dublin Trams – the Luas as they’re called (check out my film on the Luas). This is also the place to grab a taxi as you can see. And now you can just see the Luas tram approaching on the right of the screen. It’s a network that has revolutionised transport in Dublin.

The four streets that frame the park are some of Dublin’s grandest and no visit to Dublin would be complete without a walk around – or through St Stephen’s Green.

Botanic Gardens - The Best Park in Dublin

Botanic Gardens - The Best Park in Dublin
This is in my opinion the best park in Dublin, yes you have Pheonix park which is huge and also has many places of interest including Dublin Zoo but if you're looking for a romantic walk with beautiful landscape scenery with plants from all over the world, a flowing stream, squirrels getting up to antics, trees over 100 years old and Botanic Gardens housed in some of Ireland's finest greenhouses then this is the place for you.
