My home province, Batangas is a blessed land. It cradles a wide array of diverse landscapes — pristine beaches, a scenic lake, spectacular diving sites, breathtaking rivers, fertile farm lands, enchanting mountains, and a volcano. These places have also nurtured communities from the pre-Spanish settlements to the rise of the province’s many urban centers in its long history.

The best part: It is close to Manila, just two to three hours away. Here are 12 of the most popular destinations in Batangas.

Now may not be a good time to travel, but it's always a great time to plan a trip, learn about destinations, or simply be inspired!

SAN NICOLAS Pangasinan Road Trip No. 37 Driving Tour Aerial View

San Nicolas is located in north-eastern part of Pangasinan. It is the only town that borders Nueva Vizcaya.
The town was founded in 1610 by Nicolas Patricio. He led them towards the realization of their obsession. His ideas led them where his heart follows. In grateful recognition of his sacrifices and excellent leadership, the people christened the town after his name and adopted San Nicolas de Tolentino as their patron saint.

Ilocos Norte Loop: Laoag-Sarrat-Solsona-Dingras-San Nicolas

Ilocos Norte Loop covers the following towns & city:

• Laoag City:
One of the richest cities in the country in terms of per capita income and the Human Development Index. Strategically located at the northern tip of the Northwestern Luzon Growth Quadrangle.

Tourism has become a major economic driver of Laoag City, paving the way for new commercial investments and infrastructure development. A recent surge in Chinese and Taiwanese tourists have been flocking to splurge in the city's profitable casino located inside the only 5-star hotel in northern Philippines: Fort Ilocandia Hotel and Resort.

Other places of interest include a tour of heritage sites featuring Spanish colonial buildings, baroque churches, La Paz Sand Dunes, white-sand beach resorts of Pagudpud, and Marcos-era mansions.

• Sarrat:
The town is known as the birthplace of Ferdinand Marcos, the 10th President of the Philippines and for Sarrat Church, the largest church in the province and with the longest nave in the country and an Important Cultural Property of the Philippines.

The Santa Monica Parish Church, commonly known as the Sarrat Church, is the largest church in Ilocos Norte and the most visited place by tourists in Sarrat. The church has one of the longest nave in the country and was declared an Important Cultural Property of the Philippines in September 2009.

• Piddig:
The town is known for its role in the Basi Revolt, led by Pedro Mateo, a native of Piddig. Today, Piddig is known for its basi and for their sariwagwag, a dish made out of gabi leaves with fresh shrimps that are freshly gathered from their rich river.

Piddig's terrain is hilly with rice plains interspersed in between. It sits at a higher elevation than most of the towns in Ilocos Norte. It is a great place for a day hike, if one does not mind traversing through rivers, forests, and fields. The municipio (town hall) is located on top of a hill offering panoramic views of fields and mountains.

• Solsona is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines.

• Dingras:
The following is the List of Cultural Properties of Dingras:
o Versoza House Ruins
o Silvino Madamba House
o Taylan House
o Albano House
o St. Joseph Educational Center of Dingras (Built in the 1940s-1950s; formerly the parish church of Dingras)
o St. Joseph Parish Church of Dingras
o Boy Scouts Monument
o St. Joseph Institute of Dingras Building
o Puruganan Ancestral House (Currently used as Community Rural Bank of Dingras, with NHCP historical marker)
o Josefa Llanes Escoda Monument (House where Josefa Llanes Escoda was born)
o Dingras Cemetery
o Tabacalera de Dingras

• San Nicolas:
Pottery making is the main trademark of San Nicolas. It was introduced by the Spaniards mainly in Brgy. 8, and they called it Alfareria, meaning Art of Pottery. Other traditional crafts include the making of Tagapulot, Lapida, Chicharon and Longganisa. The town also has a large rice field.

Malico View Point Cold Climate Tourist Attraction | San Nicolas Pangasinan via Nueva Viscaya Road

Newest top tourist destination in Pangasinan located at San Nicolas Pangasinan. In this video i'll share a brief documentaries and facts about Malico View Point.

Malico is the farthest and remotest barangay of the municipality being 40kms. away from the town proper and adjoins our provincial boundary with the province of Nueva Vizcaya. In fact, it is nearer to Imugan, Nueva Vizcaya, being only 13 kilometers away. It is bounded on the north by Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya; on the south by BarangayCacabugaoan; on the east by Imugan, Nueva Vizcaya; and on the west by Barangay Sta. Maria East and Fianza.

It has approximate land area of 710 hectares with pasture lands covering the biggest area of land, followed by cogon land. The irrigated land is the third biggest area. The residential land covers the least land area classification. Malico produces mountain crops like sweet potato, gabi and vegetables such as cabbage, sayote, Baguio beans, petchay and carrots. The high elevation, cold climate and fertile soil make Malico an ideal place for vegetable production like Benguet. According to old folks, Malico derived its name from the winding flow of the Cabalisian River which originated from Malico and winds down the mountain connecting with the Ambayoan River in Barangay Sta. Maria East. As could be seen from a vantage point in the barangay, you could see the zigzagging flow of the said river or “liko-liko” and was later called Malico.

San Nicolas Public Market, Pampanga, Philippines

San Nicolas Manila Heritage Tour. With Visit to Alcaiceria and Chinatown Museums

The district of San Nicolas in Chinatown is not as popular as Binondo, but it is rich in heritage and history.
We joined a walking tour organized by a San Nicolas resident, Stephen Pamoranda, and we discovered the rich history of the district and its over 70 Spanish era ancestral houses.
We saw several old houses including where Heneral Luna was born, where most of the church bells were made during Spanish time, the remaining Bahay na Tisa and the old Chinese restaurant mentioned by Jose Rizal in his novel.
We also get to go inside a school which used to be the old Alcaiceria de San Fernando, the former resident and trade center for transient Chinese, where a small museum run by a grade school teacher houses a collection of artifacts dug up from the old Alcaiceria.
We also visited the well organized Chinatown Museum on the 4th Floor of Lucky Chinatown Mall Annex Building and learned about the rich history of the Chinese in the Philippines.
