Places to see in ( Imperia - Italy )

Places to see in ( Imperia - Italy )

Imperia is Liguria's westernmost province. It borders on Piedmont to the north, the Province of Savona to the east, and France to the west. To the south, it is lapped by the Ligurian Sea. The Provincial Capital is Imperia (41,500 residents) but the most populated town is San Remo (56,000 residents). The sea and the mountains are so close that the area hosts four mountain communities: Comunità dell'Olivo, Alta Valle Arroscia, Argentina Armea and Montana Intemelia. The name Imperia stems from the Impero River, which divides the former opposing villages of Porto Maurizio and Oneglia, now united into one town. In May 1945, the territory was occupied for a month by de Gaulle’s French army, the so-called Tirailleurs.

The stretch of coast belonging to Imperia Province is also known as the Riviera dei Fiori, the Flower Riviera, characterized by bays, ports and coves that become valleys, creeks and peaks standing above 984 ft. The sea of the Riviera is known for a mild climate, even in winter. At a short distance from the coast, behind the hills are valleys and pristine woods. Imperia is well-known for its many agro-alimentary firms that produce oil and pasta (although in time its economy has shifted towards services and tourism), and olive groves are still widespread throughout the territory.

Visit the Provincial Capital's central Via Bonfante with its arcades, and Galleria Isnardi and Galleria degli Orti with the most exclusive boutiques. Along the marina and behind the harbor is old Oneglia, with the old fishermen’s houses and the Palazzo dei Doria, the former lords of the town. Imperia's eastern border reveals the remnants of the 17th-Century walls, originally commissioned by the Savoia family.

Nearby lies the Church of the Annunziata with its neoclassical façade, and the 18th-Century Scolopi Complex. The Duomo di San Maurizio, also in the Neoclassical style, is just outside the historic center. The Naval Museum is also in Piazza del Duomo. The most popular beach along the Province's Riviera is Spiaggia d’Oro, or Golden Beach, in the port area of Borgo Marina, yet every community - from Imperia, Bordighera, and Arma di Taggia to Diano Marina and Ospedaletti - offers gorgeous and sunny beaches.

Noteworthy among the best inland destinations are Dolceacqua (with the overlooking Doria Castle, which can be reached through a scenic bridge over the Nervia River), Pigna (an art and spa hub), Rocchetta Nervina (with its many small lakes, the best initiation point for a hike), Perinaldo (famous for the Cassini Observatory) and Pieve di Teco (with its characteristic arcades).

San Remo, the city of flowers, is home to the 1905 Casino, where every year the Festival della Canzone Italiana (Italian song festival) is held. Ventimiglia is the town nearest to the border with France, and to the visitor it reveals its dual personalities: the archaeological town from the Roman period, an open-air museum with a theatre still in pristine conditions, the Provenza Portal, the thermal baths and mosaics; and the Medieval town, on the Roia River's right bank, characterized by monumental walls, the Cathedral of the Assunta, the octagonal-plan Baptistery and the Convent of the Canonichesse Lateranensi. Worth visiting is also the Salvini di Pieve di Teco Theater, the world’s smallest theatre.

Imperia Province displays extraordinary flora: from the world-famous palms of Bordighera to the terraces covered with vineyards and olive groves, that lend their incredible colors to the Nervia Valley. Similarly, the trees on the Olivo Hills alternate with homes and villages. Finally, the valleys between Liguria and Piedmont - such as Argentina, Armea and Arroscia - boast plenty of natural resources that decorate the remains of ancient settlements.

Places to see in ( Imperia - Italy ) Porto Maurizio

Places to see in ( Imperia - Italy ) Porto Maurizio

Porto Maurizio ( Portu Muȓìsiu in Liguria , even more familiarly, U Portu ) is, together with Oneglia (from which it is divided by the Impero stream), one of the two main parts in which the city of Imperia is divided . Before being merged into a single municipal entity in Oneglia it was until 1923 an autonomous municipality , as well as the capital of the then province of Porto Maurizio. He was the birthplace of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry Giulio Natta and the origins of the Nobel Prize in Medicine Renato Dulbecco .

Of probable Roman origins, Porto Maurizio was an independent municipality in the Middle Ages , even if linked by close covenants of alliance and dependence on the nearby and powerful Republic of Genoa , known throughout the Mediterranean for the production but above all the trade in olive oil . After the Napoleonic period it was annexed to Piedmont and then merged into the Kingdom of Italy.

The appearance of the city of Porto Maurizio in the mid- eighteenth century is documented with considerable precision by a clear watercolor table of the atlas The Dominion of the Serene Republic of Genoa on the mainland , compiled and completed in Genoa in 1773 by Colonel Matteo Vinzoni, after long years of studies and work looking for the material necessary for its publication.

The main historical settlement occupies almost entirely the promontory on the sea opposite Oneglia , called Parasio , in the Paràxiu dialect (from the Palatium , an ancient square tower used as a fortress and as a prison - in its place, on the top of the promontory, there is now a small tree-lined square). The district, still today almost completely pedestrian and with the characteristic caruggi (lanes) that intertwine the main road that climbs up to the top, was surrounded by walls , from the Middle Agesforward demolished and rebuilt more externally in order to defend and contain the growing village and be able to adapt to different military techniques.

La Foce is the ancient and charming fishing village of Porto Maurizio and takes its name from the mouth of the Caramagna torrent , around which the houses rise. It is equipped with a small port for fishing boats (the gozzi ) named after the sailor Emanuele Aicardi who fell in Piraeus on 25 January 1941 .

Borgo Marina , an ancient fishing village overlooking the port, greatly enlarged by the most recent building developments. In the last two hundred years, the port has carried out commercial functions, up to the current conversion for tourism purposes only after a long period of crisis.

Church of San Leonardo da Porto Maurizio and his birthplace (visitable), at Parasio . There are contained his personal objects (sacred books, the habit, the cilice) and the funeral cast of the face. Inside, an altar by Giovanni Battista Casella ( 1667 ) with peach blossom marble and paintings by Gregorio De Ferrari (his masterpiece The Addolorata and the purging souls ) and Sebastiano Conca ( Death of Saint Joseph )

Baroque church of Santa Chiara , also at the Parasio , part of a convent of cloistered nuns (still existing). There are preserved S. Domenico Soriano and Madonna di Domenico Fiasella and Madonna with Child and S anta Caterina del Conca. Church of St. Mary Magdalene and annex (former) convent of the Capuchin Fathers , then of the Carmelites (now transformed into a structure for the elderly), in Borgo Foce

In the past, from the Middle Ages to the eighteenth century , even the coast of the western Ligurian Riviera was infested with frequent attacks by the Saracens , Muslim pirates coming from the coasts of North Africa. The walls of Porto Maurizio no longer exist, neither the medieval, narrower, nor the following, Renaissance (see on GoogleMaps the approximate trend of the latter). The most recent circle included, following the military technique of the time

PORTO MAURIZIO: BEST APT.STREET & FABULOUS ITALIAN RIVIERA BEACH

What a cool place for an August break from our seven weeks in Italy! We took a Porto Maurizio apartment for a full week of sun n' fun R & R . Via Septembre 20 is the most charming and beautiful palm tree lined pedestrian street inall of Porto Maurizio. We were so lucky to find our apartment on this very street, where we were filming. Once each week the street and surrounding blocks become a lively outdoor market. The perfect place to stay in Porto Maurizio.

Next the beach vote for best beach goes hands down to our own Porto Maurizio's white sand beaches. Imperia's palm studded promenade and beaches came in a solid second. This isthe Italian Riviera at its bargain priced best. And only 15 minutes up the road to famed San Remo,

Milan - Italy | 24 Things to Do | Travel video | DJI Mini 3 Pro & GoPro 10

My euro weekend trip to Milan. In total it was for 4 days. Of course, I've tasted Pizza for few times, but this video is mainly about historical monuments. So there are also modern buildings, including the intresting San Siro Stadium. During the days I walked through the center of Milan and saw the most beautiful that Milan offers as the Duomo di Milanoor the Sforzesco Castle. However, there are many more sights in Milan, such as the Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore, the Columns of St. Lawrence, Arco della Pace, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Statua di Leonardo da Vinci, Pinacoteca di Brera, Il Dito, Milano Centrale Railway Station, Santa Maria delle Grazie, Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio, Santuario di San Bernardino alle Ossa, Temple Of Victory and Piazza Duomo.

If you want to see the classic Italian architecture in Milan, then go to the Brera District. Another interesting area in Milan is the Navigli District. There are many bars in these area.

Milan also has the modern history with the very controversial Velasca Tower building, which is currently being renovated. You can see other high buildings in Piazza Gae Aulenti, and there is so beautiful green Bosco Verticale towers. Another intresting place Fondazione Prada is little bit far from the center to the south. This place is the very crazy gallery.

The last non-traditional stop can be the cemetery. Even if it is not a normal stop on the trip, you will definitely not make a mistake if you visit the Cimitero Monumentale di Milano. This is truly the monumental cemetery.

You can write questions to the commissioners.

CZ:
Můj euro víkendový výlet do Milána. V Miláně je však mnohem více památek, například Basilica San Lorenzo Maggiore, Columns of St. Lawrence, Arco della Pace, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Statua di Leonardo da Vinci, Pinacoteca di Brera, Il Dito, Milano Centrale Railway Station, Santa Maria delle Grazie, Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio, Santuario di San Bernardino alle Ossa, Temple Of Victory and Piazza Duomo.

Dotazy můžete psát do komnetářů.

San Remo is a beautiful town on the west coast of Italy. It's in the province of Liguria. San Remo is the capital town of the Riviera dei Fiori or Riviera of Flowers. Things to do and see in San Remo:
The Casino of San Remo has always been one of the main attractions of the town. Built in 1905 this large white building stands out proudly, enticing those who wish to try their luck. The casino was designed in its current Art-Nouveau style by the French architect Eugenio Ferret.
The San Remo Music Festival is worth checking out if you’re in the city of San Remo during the dates the festival occurs. The competition takes place inside of the Ariston Theatre.
La Pigna, the Pinecone, is the oldest part of the city. The district of La Pigna dates back to the 11th century. La Pigna's tiny streets and covered alleyways wind up the hill to the gardens and sanctuary at the top. A labyrinth of secret shortcuts, stacked houses, tunnels and narrow passages, leading to the highest point of the city, the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Costa.
Madonna della Costa Sanctuary, on the hilltop above La Pigna, can be seen from most places in San Remo and is a symbol of the city. A beautiful cobblestone mosaic dating from 1651 leads the way to the sanctuary. The dome atop the sanctuary was erected between 1770 and 1775.
One of the city's landmarks, a witness to the presence of a Russian community in Sanremo is the Russian Orthodox Church. A church wanted by Tsarina Maria Alexandrovna after her visit in Sanremo and built 30 years after her death in 1913. There are busts representing the king of Italy Vittorio Emanuele III and his wife, Elena of Montenegro, daughter of Nicholas I in front of the church.
The Gardens of Queen Elena are on top of the hill above La Pigna. Created in 1890 are filled with informal clusters of thick trees and idyllic walkways. From there you will love the breathtaking view on the roofs of the old town and the Gulf of Sanremo.
Near the old port of San Remo is the Fort of Santa Tecla. Fort of Santa Tecla in San Remo was between 1864 and 1997 in use as a prison. After being used as a prison for many years and now the fort is being completely renovated and will be used for tourism and cultural purposes.
On the northern corner of Piazza Eroi Sanremesi there are public markets. This covered market is the pulse of San Remo.
