Welcome to our vlog where we exploring Chiang mai and visiting San Kamphaeng hot springs & Chiang mai China town.
We had another lovely day trip in Chiang mai, visiting Chiang mai hot springs San Kamphaeng is a must so add hot springs to your list of things to do in Chiang mai.
After hot springs we went back to the city and we were exploring Chiang mai China town.
China town Chiang mai is very different than Bangkok China town, we were expecting a lot of noise and food although we haven't found any food apart from some snacks.

There is no better way to finish the day than with good food. Chiang mai food is amazing but the place called where we went for crispy pork in Chiang mai was special, make sure you try Neng Earthen Jar roast pork.
Chiang mai tourism is big, make sure you won't miss this place when travelling in Thailand.

Popular in China and Japan, Chiang Mai now has its very own Cat Café and it is aptly named Catmosphere, the café is designed to fit in with its name with pictures of spaceships and cats floating around in UFO’s adorning the walls. An old soil quarry this place is still very much unknown, it is a huge canyon that is now filled with water and has some absolutely staggering views. The Canyon is very deep and the water filling it is collected rainwater that is now estimated to be forty meters deep.

Have Fun Bartering At The Night Bazaar.

Chang Klan Road is just another road during the day, but at night the whole place lights up as the stallholders drag out their stalls and get set up for the night. Hundreds of traders line the road selling various goods such as fake designer items, lanterns, and other handcrafted goods.
Take A Boat Trip On The Mae Ping River.

A two-hour boat trip along the Mae Ping River is an excellent way to spend an afternoon, you get to watch as the scenery along with the river changes, you will also get to see many beautiful traditional teak houses as well as a lot of rural greenery along the way.
Eat Khao Soi.

Northern Thailand is famous for many things but its greatest export surely has to be Khao Soi. It is a coconut and curry-flavored soup filled with yellow egg noodles and chicken, sitting on top of the soup are crispy fried egg noodles giving a real mix of textures to the dish. At the side of the soup bowl, you will be given a small plate that has chopped red onions, pickled green mustard and a wedge of lime.

Visit Doi Inthanon National Park.

Doi Inthanon National Park is home to the highest mountain in all of Thailand, an extension to the Shan Hills and made mostly from granite. The park covers a land area of 48,240 hectares.

Walk Down The San kamphaeng Road.

Also known as the ‘Handicraft Highway’ a 10km stretch of road where you will find outlets famous for their pottery, silverware, lacquerware, sculpting, wood carving, and silk products.

Marvel Wat Phra Singh.

Wat Phra Sing is a Buddhist temple and monastery that was founded in the 14th century. Known as the Temple of the Lion Buddha it houses two Buddha statues. There are 700 monks living in the temple who regularly come to talk to the tourists and are normally very friendly. The largest building at the site is the assembly hall which was rebuilt in 1925 and houses Phra Chao Thong Tip, a very large copper and gold cast of the seated Buddha, various other buildings can be found on the site giving you a lot to explore when you arrive.

To Doi Suthep.

The most famous attraction in all of Chiang Mai is Doi Suthep, every travel agent and driver will ask you if you want to go, it is like Big Ben is to London. Doi Suthep is about 12km outside of Chiang Mai and is a mountain that has a fantastic view over all of the city. Standing at 5400 meters the mountain also houses Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a 13th-century temple that is home to a large white elephant shrine as well as a replica of the Emerald Buddha.

Get Involved With The Nightlife.

Chiang Mai is full of bars and clubs and with prices being a lot lower than Bangkok it is worth getting your partying done here. Nimmanhaemin Road has a very large number of trendy bars but is also home to The Monkey Club and The Warm-Up Cafe, both of which are frequented by locals as well as tourists. Thapae Gate is another popular area for drinking with Zoe’s bar filling up each night and the drinking carrying on until the early hours. In Chiang Mai it is very common to buy a bottle of spirit and sit down with soda or coke and an ice bucket, all the bars sell spirits by the bottle and it is the cheapest way to have an evening’s drinking.

10 Best Shopping in Chiang Mai

10 Best Shopping in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai Walking Street
Street shopping is all about immersing yourself in the local culture, and there’s no better place to experience it than at the Weekend Walking Streets. Here, the essence of Chiang Mai comes to life in a vibrant spectrum of art, crafts, music and food – with mostly handmade quality than mass-produced goods. Stroll down the jam-packed streets and experience a wealth of traditional and modern Chiang Mai culture in one visit.

Chiang Mai Night Bazaar
The Night Bazaar consists of street-side stalls selling mostly clothing and handicrafts, and a host of shopping plazas where you can find more unique crafts and jewellery. A good way to check out the whole area is to start at Tha Phae Road and work your way south towards Loi Khro. Once you reach the end of the market, cross the street and work your way back along the other side.

Wualai Walking Street
Wualai, the Saturday walking street, is a lively and fun night market that takes place in Chiang Mai just a short walk from the old city walls. It starts in the late afternoon and continues until around 22:30. We prefer the atmosphere here to the more famous Sunday night walking street, because even though it’s smaller, there aren’t the same crowds of people, so it makes for a much more leisurely stroll.

Bor Sang Village
Bor Sang mid-sized craft village about nine kilometres east of the Old City specialises in the paper umbrella-making craft. Well known for outstanding handcraft quality as well as signature floral designs, Bor Sang Village has made its name throughout the country and abroad – so much so that the name Bor Sang has become synonymous with the paper-umbrella craft itself and the umbrella, a cultural symbol of Chiang Mai.

Riverside Boutique Shops
Across the River Ping, a short section of Charoenrat Road makes for a pleasant stroll. A collection of renovated wooden shop-houses that line its short stretch specialise in Lanna art and crafts, mostly from high-end local brands.

Sankampaeng Craft Street
While Ban Tawai is the destination for woodcarving and furniture, San Kamphaeng is the place to go for Thai silk. Rounding out the selection of products are lacquerware, ceramics and the brightly coloured umbrellas that are a northern specialty.

Ginger & The House Shop
Shopping can be lots of fun, but nowhere is it more cheery than at The House, where Thai brand Ginger display their colourful range of kitchen-ware, Thai-inspired furniture and clothing. Anyone who loves to shop will have a field-day here, with so many eye-catching items on display.

Central Plaza Chiangmai AirportCentral Airport Plaza Chiang Mai is the place to go for international brands and is also a good stop off point for last-minute souvenirs. Located within walking distance of the airport, there are five floors of shops and restaurants as well as an international supermarket and a cinema here.

Warorot Market
Warorot Market (or Kad Luang) is a must-visit for food lovers as it offers a wide range of ready-to-eat meals, local snacks and all kinds of fresh produce. A large section of the market features inexpensive goods, such as clothing, fashion accessories and personal care products.

OP Place
If you are looking for one stop shop for quality handicrafts and local products in Chiang Mai, then we recommend a browse of the stalls and shops in OP Place just a few steps from the bustling night bazaar. This large airy shopping mall has made local artisans its focus, and we had a great time rummaging through the collection.
