The second largest country in the South American continent which occupies, together with Chile, the long tapered tail of South America. Being so extensive it also offers a variety of landscapes depending on the area visited and the time of year in which the trip is made. Indicatively it can be divided into four large areas: the Andes to the west, the fertile plains to the north, the Pampas in the center and Patagonia to the south. In the center of Buenos Aires, with its stylish buildings, it seems to be in Paris. There are numerous tree-lined avenues and parks to see, the picturesque neighborhoods of San Telmo and la Boca and historic buildings. The Andes area is the one that preserves the traditions and evidence of the colonial past. The most beautiful colonial-style city in Argentina is Salta. In Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego there are numerous species of animals and flora that are not found in other areas of South America: in the Valdes Peninsula you can see lions and elephant seals, penguins and, at certain times of the year, whales. The official language of Argentina is Spanish. The dialect spoken in Argentina is known as Rioplatense Spanish and has some distinct features.
Argentina attracts tourists from around the world who come to explore its natural wonders, vibrant cities, and cultural heritage. Popular tourist destinations include Buenos Aires, the Iguazu Falls, the Perito Moreno Glacier, and the wine regions of Mendoza.

Argentina Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Argentina.
Argentina is the second largest country in South America and a captivating land of tango, adventure and breathtaking nature.Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and the most European city in South America with buildings that are reminiscent of bygone times. The mighty Plaza De Mayo is the historic heart of the city, along with the presidential palace, the Casa Rosada and the Catedral Metropolitana. Today the tango is performed in each corner of the city and in the nineteenth century poor immigrants from Italy and Spain settled in Buenos Aires. This explains the fiery temperament and deep melancholy that is expressed by the dances and is evident with each flick of the leg. In what was once the red light district with its whore houses of colourful corrugated iron taken from numerous ship wrecks, the tango was born. We visit an estanzia, a feudal residence of the beef barons who once settled on the endless plains of the pampas and who built their farmhouses according to the rustic designs of the nobility. From Salta Station we begin a fascinating train journey on the Tren A Las Nubes, the “train into the clouds,.which will climb to more than three thousand metres above sea level along one of the highest railroads in the world. The Los Glaciares National Park is a mixture of lakes, glaciers, mountains and untouched wilderness yet despite the harsh climate the local vegetation captivates due to its diversity. Our journey comes to an end. From north to south, through cities and pampas to glaciers and mountains, Argentina is a dream destination come true!

HOW TO PLAN A TRIP TO PATAGONIA + 1 WEEK PATAGONIA ITINERARY TIPS | Latin America Travel Series 16

Patagonia is HUGE and it can be overwhelming to know how to plan a trip to Patagonia. There are so many amazing things to do in Patagonia in both Argentina and Chile. We only had about a week to visit Patagonia so we are definitely not experts, but hopefully our research can be helpful if you are trying to plan a 1 week Patagonia itinerary as well.

If you are Patagonia trip planning and wondering where to go in Patagonia, we focused on the El Calafate + Chalten area in Argentina and Torres del Paine in Chile. We toured Argentina on our own and in Chile we booked with ChileTour Patagonia (highly recommend them)!

Here are our tips for what to see in Patagonia, including:
- Los Glaciares National Park Fitz Roy Day Trek vs. Torres del Paine day trek to Base of the Towers
- Kayaking at the Perito Moreno Glacier in El Calafate, Argentina
- Boat tour to the Grey Glacier Torres del Paine in Chile
- Where to stay in Torres del Paine + how to maximize your time there if you're not a big hiker

These are our tips for a one week Patagonia itinerary, but obviously the longer you can spend in Patagonia the better! It is such a beautiful place and we would love to visit again someday. There are also so many areas of Patagonia we missed and have added to our bucketlist for the future.
