I wanted to show you a special place in my heart in Italy, that not many tourists from North America let alone anywhere really venture off to, the region of Abruzzo. The region of Abruzzo is truly undiscovered and I hope this video sheds some light on it as it really deserves to get far more recognition as a place to visit in Italy.
This film will show you the many incredible things about the region of Abruzzo, from the incredible local delicacies like Arrosticini, a staple of the region, to trying some good albeit very strange food on a Trabboci on the coast of the Adriatic and tasting some of the local Montepulciano wines.
Called the green lung of Italy, most of Abruzzo is covered in National Parks and they are some of the most incredible you will ever see! Besides exploring the many national parks at your disposal, another one of my favourite things to do in Abruzzo is explore the many mediavel villages, with such untouched beauty that you feel as though you've stepped back in time.

Hello friends! Today I go on a fascinating journey through the bright capital of Argentina - the famous Buenos Aires. I will discover the secrets of the majestic Plaza de Mayo and the Cathedral, the colorful district of La Boca, where I will snack on the most delicious Argentine sweets and pies.
I will start my hike in Buenos Aires with the picturesque Plaza de Mayo - the heart of the capital of Argentina. Plaza de Mayo was founded in 1580, during the colonial era. The modern name of the square was given by the events of the May Revolution in 1810 - the symbolic beginning of the struggle for independence from the Spanish crown. This process was completed on September 13, 1816, when the real independence of Argentina was proclaimed on the Plaza de Mayo.
There are a lot of government buildings on the Plaza de Mayo - from the presidential palace to the national bank. The square is decorated with a huge flag of Argentina, flower beds, monuments and obelisks. The most notable of which is the Pyramid of May, Argentina's oldest patriotic monument, built in 1811, a year after the events of the May Revolution.
If Mouse Pick undertakes to explore a city, he always does it thoroughly. That’s why, I could not pass by the main religious symbol of Argentina - the Cathedral of Buenos Aires, located near the Plaza de Mayo.
The history of this Catholic church began in 1580. Then the temple was called the Holy Trinity and since then has been repeatedly rebuilt until it acquired a modern look in 1791. The cathedral is famous for the tomb of the national hero of Argentina - General José de San Martín, one of the leaders of the War of Independence of the Spanish colonies in Latin America in 1810-1826.
Phew, now when everyone is tired of dates, you can relax and wander around the colorful la Boca district - the epicenter of the artistic and musical life of Buenos Aires. In La Boca was the first port of Buenos Aires, so emigrants from Italy began to actively settle there in the 19th century. They painted their houses with different colors, since one color was often not enough for the whole house. This color of the area subsequently became a tradition, and the colors have since only become brighter and more diverse. This was facilitated by the most famous artist of the district - Benito Kinkel Martin, whose gallery I will also show you.

To arrive in Buenos Aires is to find oneself somewhere at once deeply familiar and entirely new.
Buenos Aires is sometimes called 'the Paris of the South'
With its mix of old world charm and new world edginess, Buenos Aires has an electricity about it that is hard to describe, but impossible not to notice.
Argentina began as a backwater of Spain's South American colonies but by the early 20th Century had risen to become one of the richest nations in the world. The expression 'rich as an Argentine' was bandied about in Europe, as boatloads of portenos landed on the continent - often with servants in tow - to do the grand tour.
The city still lays claim to the title 'Paris of the South' and more than any other Latin American capital, Buenos Aires has traditionally looked to Europe - not just Spain, but France, England, Belgium and beyond.
When the money from its rich farmlands poured into the coffers of the city's wealthiest families, they built Hausmannesque boulevards and slate-roofed mansions.
Potent mix
Many Argentines have their roots in Europe thanks to a push for immigration in the late 19th Century. In fact you'll hear as many Italian surnames here (Maradona being undoubtedly the most famous) as you will Spanish, with plenty of Swiss, German and Russian names mixed in.
It's this potent mix of cultures that lends Buenos Aires its distinctly cosmopolitan feel. It's also this mongrel blend - one of which portenos are intensely proud - that gave birth to the city's startlingly original cultural output: the music of the tango, the works of writers like Borges, Julio Cortazar and Manuel Puig, the genius of athletes like Maradona and Lionel Messi.
It's an exuberant city where it's easy to feel at home - but Buenos Aires has a tragic past.
The rule of Juan Peron in the 1940s and 50s brought industrialisation and the education of the working classes to Argentina, along with a particular political style that mixed populism and authoritarianism with the welfare state.
Argentina's 'dirty war' of the 1970s was a violent time for Buenos Aires
The periods of political violence and military dictatorship that followed created untold suffering - most famously the disappearance of as many as 30,000 Argentines in extra-judicial kidnappings and killings.
Though many of Argentina's founders were great statesmen, who dreamed of a truly modern democracy founded on the ideals of the French and American Revolutions, like so many of its neighbours Argentina has struggled to achieve political and economic stability.
But despite its sometimes desperate need for a facelift, the city never fails to delight and surprise with its solemn beauty, its melancholy romance and its lively, noisy, warm and unruly inhabitants.
In the past decade, Buenos Aires has become a city that attracts an eclectic mix of expats and travellers, who come here for the sophistication of Europe at south-of-the-equator prices, and the stimulation of a city bursting with cultural life, from its theatres and art galleries to its live music scene and bustling bars and restaurants.

In the space of 24 hours, we will explore 2 sides of Buenos Aires. First, we head north to Palermo, a modern, up-and-coming foodie area, to do an organic, gluten-free, vegan food and wine tour. The next morning we head south, to the iconic neighbourhood of La Boca, and learn a bit about the vibrant and often tragic history of this area, the birthplace of tango, whilst admiring the colourful buidlings.
